This is pretty good. But let me give you some words of advice. When you upload a tileset ripped from a game, you should always include the essentials to every tileset. I’ll explain: Exit sign, text sign, maybe arrows, scenery trigger block, trigger block.. You get the point, there isn’t really much you can do with the tileset, so I don’t blame you there.
But good job, great conversion of the original game.
I still have to fix my JJ2 before I can really test this. But since I used to make levels all the time, this is a golden rule. Never make long filenames, and avoid spaces in the filename. You should reupload this to 1 simple short filename.
Ok it worked, good conversion as far as I can tell, but since It’s just a conversion and not really original, I’ll give you a 7.[This review has been edited by Rapcore]
It seems that it doesn`t have start positions.
Never heard about a good review >S
Good!
Here is the deal:
- Good eyecandy. However, I wouldn’t repeat those background trees so often. (-0.5)
- Level does not have a lot of ammo (-0.5)
- I would put a few carrots in the level (-0.5)
- Level is made for TSF. Next time do it for 1.23 (-0.5)
In total – 10-2=8.0
Good job, man!
this lvl SUX. the lvl way too short and the lvl is a straight one. There is a lot of ammo at the beginning and there is barely any later on. it takes ariund……………………… 50 seconds to finish the whole lvl, and who cares that u r a girl. As far as we know you could be a leprachaun.. no offence. BTW The Odin do you always give bad lvl’s high rating or is it because you like TIGER LILY?
this is one of the best city tilesets I have ever seen I also like the pink tileset……VERY original. enormous tileset and a very nice job!! :)
A fine tileset which is very detailed ad the most popular. It uses all layers and the eye candy is out of this world. Download it NOW!!
good Level
good background
good Ammo
(…Bad review. Rating removal. Please provide more details to support your rating. -Trafton)[This review has been edited by Trafton AT]
This level has two different ratings, 6.5 from Wadledee and 1.7 from Cooba.. I don’t know which is right so I will review this to find out.
LVL DESIGN AND EYECANDY AND STUFF
The level consists of various tests, in each you have to do something different. Let’s begin..
GAME 1
Here you have to jump from platform to platform and avoid some spikes and stuff. I dunno if the spikes hurt or if you get warped back, because I didn’t get hit of them. It’s very short and you don’t need the last platform to reach the trigger crate. Above the crate there’s a full NRG carrot so I guess the spikes hurt. NEVER DO THIS IN MULTIPLAYER!!
GAME 2
I don’t know why this one is called Trigger Blocks, because you just have to use TNT to smash the blocks. Also I think you don’t really know what a test is. A test is a parcour where you have to get through, but don’t hit the sides because they are filled with warp events. This one has nothing to do with the test mode.. However, it’s very easy and not a real challenge to collect TNT and press the shoot button.
GAME 3
In this one you have to jump over some weird things. It’s again too easy and if players that are not so good play easy levels they won’t get better in my opinion.
Well, after that three thingys I got to the level 2 challenges and got stuck in level 3 which is impossible because some platforms are moving too fast and I always fall down and get back to the start.
Eyecandy is not great either, the background is a bit dull, and the tileset is boring.
I expected a level with tests, but this is something totally other. Well, the idea is good, but it’s pointed out in a bad way. Also keep in mind that you should never use weapon blocks (for example for seekers) if the player has TNT :P
Overall, I don’t agree with Wadledee, he rated too high, but I also think Cooba rated too low. This deserves..maybe a 2.7 I think.
Keep up the good work ;)
Yet another pack :!.
All levels:
EYECANDY: NOT good on the first level, but exotcus is a hard tileset, so i wont complain about that. The other 3 levels are OK. (Like the idea for a storm)
ITEMS: Again, the first not so good, but it’s better then the eyecandy though. The 2 after that are OK (again!) But the 4th one, you thought more about TRIGGER CRATES than AMMO.
CARROT PLACEMENT:
For the last 3 levels have great carrot placement. But on level 1, there is hardly any carrots.
ENEMIES: Levels 1, 3 and 4 have great enemy placement. But you kind of overused the enemies on level 2. I keep getting killed because of the Monkies.
AND FINALLY, GAMEPLAY: Again, levels 2, 3 and 4 have exelent gameplay.
But for level 1, It’s is confusing because you have to do a maze whilst being covered up by layer 3. It took me 10 minutes to get confused, so i had to go to the level creator to find out what i had to do.
RATE……………
Oh, i forgot:
SIZE:
Level 1 is too short!!!! Level 2 is too big!! Level 3 and 4 are just right (3 bears rip off, it was a moment waiting to happen).
RATING: 7.2
FUN-O-METER: 7.7
FINAL COMMENT: Phew!! Level 1 is the dissapointment of the 4 levels there. Surprizingly, level 3 had no mistakes at all!!
This is good, but i dont think it should get a rating. With this file you can:
1) Use ASCII characters
2) color your name
3) Serverlist stuff
You would say: “Another test. Bleh…”, but this is not a test like that. You could improve the eyecandy, though… There are some tests witch are easy, very hard, and normal. At the end there is a test u cant play out. If you’re Spaz and you get in, you CANT get out. You have to walk over a racing line witch goes very fast! The problem is that it goes TOO FAST!! Spaz wont be able to get out there, so thats not very nice. But the rest is okay. Nice tube-background. You did work on this test. On some places you can get hurt…(.)And thats stupid: You have a test witch need weapons to get out. TNT bouncers RF… But if you didn’t get enough TNT at the first, and you get in another lvl like this, you cant get out! Your TNT is on another side of the wall where you’re playing on that moment. :-P But however, I will rate it. You get from me a… 6.5! If you work more on eyecandy, could improve your rating.
Whee. time to view the highest rated treasure level on j2o. Firstly, glad you included the help thing, since people dont have to spend forever looking for secrets/hints (although sometimes that is a good timewaster =P).
Layout/Gameplay: Its pretty good, the level is fairly large, although there are lots of crowded passages and open dead ends. I like the warps at 36,22 (or similar) and 79, 22 (or similar). Im not too fond of the crate breaking thing since it leads to campers and stuff, and I’d usually break the crate at the start or something, but whatever. Layout is alright. Gameplay is pretty good, the level being underwater is a rux idea.
Placement of stuff: Gems are placed nicely, scattered throughout the level. Ammo was a bit sparce and food was even sparcer. I got around 198 gems (wow O.o) in the level, which is a pretty huge amount (i also might’ve missed some, who knows), but this level is meant for many people. Overall, things are a bit sparce(aside from gems),and the gem placement is good.
Eyecandy: Looking at it, some things are a bit confusing and some look out of place, but you did what you could I guess, and having eyecandy is better than no eyecandy. There is a significant amount of it, but it didnt really surprise me in any unique way. All around it was decent.
Overall (not an average): Its a good treasure level, although not much about it is really new. I would definately play this, and you did a good job on it, but the rating Im giving this probably wont be so high because its not too original.
Layout/Gameplay: 8.5
Placement of Stuff: 8.5
Eyecandy: 8
Overall (not an average): 7.9
Final Rating comes down to: 8.225, coming down to an 8.2. Great level, you should make more treasure levels in the future since most levels uploaded are either SP, Battle or CTF. Definite download reccomendation, and good job on winning the Golden Carrot award (although that was a long while ago ;P).
R3ptile, you can see the background I used in the example level several times. In the level there are occasional “splits” in the bricks where you can see layer 8 through them. Also, putting the black tiles in layer 8 would make it so they were all unmasked, and would possibly mess up the level. Feel free to look at my level in JCS if you need help; there’s no password.
Yes, I wanna ask the same: What is this stuff makes?
