OK. so that was a joke.

(Response from a random bystander: I think that Violet was joking about both packs being named “Battle Pack” and I doubt he actually meant it. -Trafton)[This review has been edited by Trafton AT] [This review has been edited by snooz]

Two level that are pretty fun in the first place, but there is a bug. You always start at the same point. It was better to place different start positions. A good point is that the levels are small so there is close battling, again: the levels are fun to play! Good work!

I accuse you of stealing part of my name.

TILESET/TILESET USE: The two levels included use Jungle and Townhouse. So yes, the “Other tileset(custom)” thing is wrong. Both levels actually use the tilesets pretty well, though they suffer from a lack of anything new – there is no inventive tileset use to speak of, just the same old stuff. The Jungle level has some layer 5 stuff, it’s true, but I’ve not that much of a fan of that style. There are one or two tile bugs, especially in some of Jungle’s walls, but overall the tileset use is pretty good.
Pros: Most things fit together.
Cons: Nothing new, a few tile bugs.
Rating: 7.5

WEAPON/ITEM PLACEMENT: Everything generates way too fast. The ammo all seems to generate at a delay of 5 or so, and the fire shield in the Townhouse level (which is right out in the open) 10 at the most. The weapons are just a bit overdone, but the shield is unacceptable. Anyway, other then that, placement is ok.
Pros: It’s ok.
Cons: The fire shield. Ouch. -1.0 right there.
Rating: 6.2

ORIGINALITY: There is nothing much that is original about these levels. They have standard tileset use, and no real inventiveness in other factors, such as design.
Pros: N/A
Cons: N/A
Rating: 5.5

GAMEPLAY/DESIGN: The levels are basically small things with not too much that is inventive. I must say I like the Townhouse level more, as the Jungle basically has the design of a backwards C, complete with both deadends, one of which is against the left side of the level (ouch). The Townhouse level, on the other hand, is shaped more like O=’ . Basically, Townhouse has an ok design, and Jungle doesn’t. As for gameplay, in contrast, Jungle is better, because of the oh-so-obvious fire shield in the Townhouse level.
Pros: Decent.
Cons: The fire shield. Again. Also the dead ends.
Rating: 6.7

REPLAY VALUE/FUN FACTOR: These levels are mildly entertaining, and let’s face it, it’s not every day you come across a Townhouse level, with or without the fire shield. Still, the fact remains there are some gameplay quirks which could undermine the entertainment value.
Pros: N/A
Cons: N/A
Rating: 7.0

OVERALL: These are ok levels, but nothing too special, and they each have a few problems. The author shows some unreached promise.
Pros: Ok design, decent eyecandy, Townhouse is rare.
Cons: The fire shield, the dead ends.

Good tileset – really better than original Tilests.

An awfully buggy level pack with pretty good eyecandy. It was a pretty fun time, but it was short. The last level, Devan kept bumping into the walls and every time he did it said “Chris is a redneq.” Okay, what the heck.. Heh, it only said it for one frame, so I had to pause the game really quick to see it. Anyway, fun but buggy, and you may have to cheat to get past an area where you get stuck in the last level. Also, you didn’t include the tileset for the NES Level.

If you are wondering, Yes, that is the secret level music for deserto. This level is probably the only other one in the entire series that you morph into somthing else. A pretty straight forward level, you change into a lizard. This secret level is accessable in level 1 (Near the exit sign)

Well, looking at the tileset it looks quite nice. The ground tiles look extremely complex and so does the backround eyecandy and stuff. Skeleton animation nicely made. The sucker tube looks a bit cutoff when it turns. Has some greyish backround tiles, backround is interesting. The theme is quite new and interesting, and unique tilesets are good. This is definately worth a download, not the best tileset but one you should have in your jj2 folder. Apologies for the short review, I am not in a long review mood now and the past few days. Final rating is 8.2 and a download reccomendation.

Ok, I admit that colored names get quite annoying in CTF, and this program does a good job of fixing it(as far as I could tell). But why rate it 10? It doesn’t do that much exept change CTF names, which isn’t that much. Though it is good to have this around, it isnt the “perfect program” or something. I still think this would be quite handy though. I can’t rate this because I am unable to host a CTF level (any level for a matter of fact) so I can’t see how it works. Rating will stay N/A until I get a close glimpse of exactly what this does.

Ok, since I am able to host, I might as well edit this review sooner or later and give this a rating. The layout of the program is basic and simple. Even a 4 year old can understand it. Plus there is even a picture of a lizard on it for extra detail. Though the program does what it is suppose to and works great, I find that I don’t really have much use for it since not too many people have colored names. Though it is good to have this on your hardrive because you may find that you will need it sooner or later, and it is a good addition to any CTF lover. Though I’m not giving it as high as a 9.5 or a 10 because I find I rarely need it and it doesn’t do much else other than bleach names, it does what it is suppose to, and is easy to comprehend and use. I’ll give this program an 8.7, and hope that you will continue making effective programs like this one. Great Work! [This review has been edited by Blackraptor]

A very basic tileset, but not a bad one…

Graphics: most of the graphics were just fine. Nothing special.

Eyecandy: lots of that. This tileset almost CONSISTS of eyecandy…

Animations: many animations. And good ones. The skeleton is kinda weird, though…

Competition: I don’t think there are many tilesets with the same theme. Actually, the theme is hard to describe.

Masks: very good. Nothing to say.

Overall: average tileset worth a download.
