As part of Epic Games’ 20th Anniversary Celebration, they’ve just put out a celebratory Original Soundtrack of twenty songs pulled and “remastered” from some of their various releases over the years, including the menu song from Jazz 1 and “Pull Back the Bass” from Jazz 2. Check it out and leave some positive comments here!

(Also on the retro side are tunes from Jill of the Jungle, Epic Pinball, Tyrian, and the earlier Unreals. No OMF or Xargon, though.)

Do you agree with Epic’s choices of songs to represent JJ1 or JJ2, or would you have chosen something different? In before “Tubelectric.”

Got excited there for a minute until I realized that ‘remastered’ doesn’t mean it’s any different from the original versions. Pity, too, because Pull Back the Bass is one of my favorites from JJ2.

Should’ve gone with Jazz Be Darned instead of Pull Back the Bass.

Still, it’s always nice to get a nod. Thanks for sharing!

The JJ1 main theme is inevitable and expected which is good for retro recognition.

The choice for JJ2 is indeed more subjective. I do like Pull Back The Bass, but of all songs in the game I’d go for Medivo instead!

Labrat was another epic (no pun intended) song.

i was shittin my pants when I saw this. I am rather disappointed with the lack of resampling on older songs :( digitally remastering is one thing, resampling old 8-bit mono .wav files is another! i’m actually currently playing through Infinity Blade II right now. great series.

Epic Anniversary? And where is Jazz Jackrabbit Universe, the 35th Jazz Jackrabbit game? Huh?

Cliff Bleszinski is a bitch! He scratches his balls! He is by now 13 years late on JJ3, and you still blindly love him?

You all deserve to die along with that tobacco lover!

…I couldn’t bring myself to remove that last one. Someone else can, but… 35? What is math?
