I searched a long time for this upload, as Xobim said, it should be labelled as Single Player… ; I had played it ten years ago, and I found the gameplay uncommon for this game. It left me a lasting memory.
STORY
It is set in a middle of a war (before, and during it) To complete the levels, you have to “talk” with static characters. The story is somewhat consistent, and especially the fact that it takes a central place, although the texts are not that astonishing.
SYSTEM OF INDOORS/OUTDOORS
I found the idea of indoors/outdoors also good: some parts of the level were duplicated, and through a warp, you go in the building. Those warps are above the doors, so you may unwantedly warp in the building.
STRATEGY
To compare it properly, with elements from other single player games, I would say that the difficulty (enemy placement, strategy) is absent there. There are no ennemies but for two levels, where they are gathered in one place, in groups of 50 or 100, and with Spaz you get rid of them in one movement.
TILESET/VISUALS
The tileset isn’t especially beautiful.
Your right it is a new type!
A war tileset :)
Ok what i mainly like about this tileset, is that you have a clear topic, and you have two site , unlike the usual blue/red you have spain with the brown basics and the war green for france(I suppose). I also like your color selection for the tiles not too funky rather settled pastel.
The masks works fine with me and i definitely like the spaz/jazz warriors :D nice job.
What you clearly miss out is the optimisation of the palette see layer 8(ask other ppl(notme) for some help if you have problems :) cough*disguise&toxicbunny*cough). Moreover does the tileset lack in eyecandy you have some detailed eyecandy part in which u certainly put some effort in, but they can’t fill a whole level. You are missing out layer 1,2 6,7 in my opinion.
Finally, I think your idea for this tileset is good and you have creativity, just get a bit more into those points i mention above.
I like it, it’s pretty good. Don’t feel like writing an entire review though.
SO!!! COOOOOOLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Unsupported rating (7.5) removal. ~Violet)
I think this should be uploaded as ‘Single player’
And now, the review:
The tileset is used well, but the allover game was a bit boring and confusing.
Eyecandy was nothing special.
The last level was literally filled with enemies, making it hard and very annoying.
When I finally managed it to survive the last level, I got an error saying that there wasn’t a next level.
A 6 would be enough for this one, though the idea of making castles for CTF is good.
I’m not sure about bownload recommendtion; download it for a good CTF tileset. Don’t download it for the levels.
(Regrettably unsupported rating removal. Try actually reviewing the tileset as a tileset, not as a level pack. ~Violet)
Blue Jazz
The author categorized this as ‘Multiple’, so I wonder what’s in this ZIP package. Now, what seems to be the case: this is just a Battle Level. Please choose the correct filetype next time.
The level makes use of Pavlik’s Blue World tileset. There is no textured background, background scenery or eyecandy. Sometimes you had really weird tile placement, e.g. the construction next to the fire shield.
There is no real gameplay and all of a sudden the screen gets a blue mask in the foreground, which looks dull.
- CONS:
No eyecandy, some minor tile bugs, overuse of ammo, no textured background, bad gameplay, no eyecandy.
+ PROS:
The author shows some original things like the transparent blue screen covering the foreground for a while.
VERDICT:
This is below average and I really can’t make more of it.
RATING:
4.5
hurls
Just looking at it makes me sick…
Don’t rate, or have relatives or friends rate, your own stuff. It is quite against the rules.
The theme of this tileset is pretty unknown to me….
The tileset consists of grey stones, yellow things, 1 exit + 1 text sign, a few clouds, a few coloured blocks, vines and spikes.
It lacks (here comes the list again):
- eyecandy
- destr. blocks
- poles
- sucker tubes
- arrows
- textures
Next time, think of a GOOD and ORIGINAL THEME, add much eyecandy, don’t forget good textures and include all needed things (destr.blocks, poles, etc.)!!!!!!
Nat and Pavlik, don’t rate your own stuff.
(Explained by they are brothers.)
And there where no download count until I downloaded.[This review has been edited by Møøñßlãzé aka Zãr¢h]
Yes this tileset is small
But your first.I will give you 5.2
