Nice. The first level in an import of the stage. Which I love Mega man so of course I would be into it but them a 2nd stage is a remake of the first one. Its also very well done. The doors even open and close when you walk by them. If you like this stage back on the NES then you will like this pack.

I think this has gone long enough without a proper review.
What this is
This is basically a conversion of a level form Megaman. I’ve never played it so I don’t know how accurate it is, so I’ll just go by my standers.
Tiles
Well not bad at all. We got the basics, slopes, and regular land tiles. We got mechanical layer 5 type caves, electricity. For the background we got a plain sky, (Textured would be nice) sun, buildings, clouds and a city. We got layer 3 Fences and other stuff. We got hooks, spikes, destruct blocks that look great and look like 8 bit, vines, flashing arrows and a little dancing Megaman. You can make a decent level with this tileset and I don’t know how it stacks up with the real thing, but I think the tiles are good. A little more eycandey stuff would be nice but you got everything you need to make a good level. pallets are also nice.
7/10
Animations
Not much is given. all there is electricity, arrows and the dancing Mega man. what is there works though and like I said, I don’t know how many animations there were in the game. Still, what’s there, works.
7/10
Colors
I won’t rate because I don’t know what the Original looked like. What is there looks nice though.
Pallet Events
Won’t rate because nothing was put in to make them work. (I don’t think he was going for that.)
Masking
Masking is pretty much perfect with everything masked properly. great job!
10/10
Reusability
You can make a lot with this. I can thing of a base, outdoor city, mixture, battle in the sky and probably more. Good job there!
8/10
Final Score: 32/40
Score: 8.2
Rank: B
DR? Yes. this is a nice conversion and you can do quite a bit with it. I look forward to your next conversion!
Hmm, I’ll be quick.
It sounds pretty pretty melancholic… Monotonous string melody interlaced by bass melody with fitting moody background… Great :)
Problems begin in technical side of the tune. I mean samples (cymbals!!!), using of them etc. Ok.
Problems continue in… Repeatness, hardcore repeatness… Two melodies (one of them is bass) are used in this song, which… isn’t many.
Problems hopefully end in song length, 2:15… But that doesn’t hurt so much, because the track seems to be primary used for JJ2. (I just can’t imagine another 20 minutes of listening to so monotous tune)
Recommendation? Yeah, I think. For better enjoyement, have a depression, this will… kill you :)
Ravvage of Crysilis
Plus:
This song is clear one about Crysilis. And it is not short: 4:54 minutes.
Minus:
The doesn’t have the atmosphere from Crystilis. Good music-instruments for a song about Crysilis are: a piano or a harp. This one is more futuristic.
Conclusion:
If you want to create a pinball-level, this music is OK, but it is not fit for a level on Crysilis.
Mark: 5,0
Download recommendation: NO!

Short review:
The song sounded very futuristic. The song would be great for a future or pinball level. I disagree with Danyjel about the size. I think 300KB is rather OK for a music size since some are 1000KB or more. Take my Labrat remix for example, that song is over 700KB and uses 20 channels and didn’t see Danyjel complain about that. This song uses 12 which is about the average for an S3M file. I like the beat samples used which can also be used for other people who want to make future mixes. Some of the samples used is the tune are also quite useful.
I dislike that sampling between patterns 24 to 27. Also, the song can be too repetitive (eg, the repeating notes used mainly in channels 1 to 4 are used to often) but the rest seems to be OK.
GOOD POINTS:
Pinball/futuristic style
Reasonable size
Usefull samples
Good Beat
BAD POINTS:
Bad sampling
Repetitive

DanYjel:
“CowBell”? That should totally be my new Jazz Jackrabbit 2 online username! Or maybe not! I dunno.
Anyway… I appreciate your unique insights to my music, DanYjel. Thank you! However, some bits of it confuse me. For example, is 300 Kilobytes really that weighty? I would think 300 Kilobytes would be a pretty nice size for your average Jazz Jackrabbit music, especially if it were to be converted and used in a stage or something. Goodness knows, some of these mammoth-sized files wouldn’t be very conventional to use in Jazz 2 stages. While one or two Megabytes might not seem like much all and all, it does take a lot longer for our Dial-Up friends to download.
Another thing that confuses me is that you mention around 3:38, there’s a “totally different beat”. Well, said beat is actually the exact same beat(and patterns) from around 1:42.5. The most major change-up occurs around 2:59.75 where the bassline changes entirely and part of the main “echoing foreground” disappears, sounding like it does around the beginning of the song. Though after 4:04, it leads into a very long fade-out. Is that what you’re referring to?
80s electronica wasn’t really what I had in mind when I made this music. I was trying to go more for an “electronica/rave” style, honestly. But now that you mention it, there is a bit of the 80s in this piece! Good ear! But what does “getting this from your head” mean? Do you mean it will get stuck in your head? If so, that’s very nice of you to say! Thanks!
Another thing that confuses me is how you seem to say that you like it in one instance, but in another instance, you don’t. If you could be a little more clear in describing what you do and don’t like about this song, that would be very appreciated.
Lastly, I have to ask this. If you don’t like this genre of music — which is roughly the same genre that artists like yourself and Luigi E. excel at — then why did you call it an “awesome tune, really”? And I notice you bring up the compartitively miniscule file size once more in your overall score. As a critic myself, I understand that sometimes, you have to look at something from all sides, but it seems like you let personal tastes get in the way of an otherwise decent review. It’s nice to know the score deserves an 8.0 aside from the fact you seem to have a sincere dislike for electronica and the 80s in general…
Thank you for taking the time to review my piece of music and I hope to hear from you in my next project! And before I forget, I absolutely love your new review format! It’s much more organized than your old system of (+) and (-). Though, I’m gonna miss that system… Oh well. Such is the price of progress, I suppose.

This isn’t as bad as DanYjel said it was, actually :P Kind of disco-ish. A little wierd.
Overall: New and interesting.

Introduction:
Suppah, new CowBell’s music… I’ve been looking forward for it from yesterday, so thanks a lot, CowBell! You probably read my mind. Well… the tune has almost 300 KB so OMG, isn’t it too much? Find it out!
Song Analysis:
All the sections of the song are from original “Crysilis”, author apparentely didn’t take lot of work with this. But it has nice at-one-note edit, it rocks, I just love it!!!
And then around 3:38, things get totally different beat. Why? I don’t know.
Going back for a moment, the beginning of this song reminds me of some 80s electronic music. Soft beats which kill ears after 20 seconds of listening… Actually, you’ll have problems with getting this from your head.
I’ll not lie, the beat is bad. But it has nice transitions, really. I also like the bass and background, it gives song even better feeling…
Sample Analysis:
The biggest problem of the song. Lead sample sounds like something between string and beat, I don’t really like it.
Final Analysis:
If I will not mention the samples, it’s awesome tune, really, but OMG it has 300 KB and I don’t like the genre, sorry :(
Score: 8.0
“Wrong genre” Points: -4
“300 KB” Points: -2
“Man, 80s are bad!!!” -1
Total Score: 1.0
Recommendation?:
Hmm… It’s great tune but it’s not my genre so… No.

“DanYjel” or “DanYjel” on Jazz 2
I hope this review will be respected and accepted in totally same way as Collin’s one. Thanks a lot.
2Cooba: Why? You agreed with that people can give bad rating just because of wrong genre so what? Why it
was okay yesterday, but it’s a problem today? I am interested, really.
2CowBell: No problem, man! I’m looking forward for your music very much!!!!

Ok, let’s stop kidding, now review with real reasoning. The song itself sounds very… off-key, time by time it’s plain loudness and the sample lead sample really suck (see above). It’s annoying repetitive, the length should be like 3:00 minutes and it could be okay.
Also, nothing new, except for the one tone melody, added.
To be honest, this is the worst tune by you, Collins…
Rating: 4
I think this is much better then the last Lava Song you made. It sounds more strong, like it would be used in a level. Its beats are firm and go at a great rate. Ture it does repeat somewhat, but it has enough diversity in it’s rythem to make it up. I think it’s great. GJ. I recommend this song for downloading just like the last version.
Much better than your Langunicus remix! =D
WHAT THE O MY HOLY COW!?
this song is just plain wierd!
the drumbeat sounds like it went to the dark side of funky! and it’s too slow!
and i actually can’t really hear too much how it’s related to lagunicus.
this would be a good song for a level of weird things
i gives you a 7 for effort

Comparing with earlier works I think your attempt to realism has improved. Your metal sounds are realistic and i think to a little extend the Laginuicus from the CD-only episode(only known to the real fellows) are also verbally touched. You tried obvious to spread emotions, I must admit i had quite strong emotions after listening to the tune. Another Key issue is your use of beats. I believe everyone must listen to it himself. The beats reflect the peak of inspiration in my opinion; not just a A B A B beat scheme but more a A A A A beat scheme know from Electrics earlier works, which you will find on his website. If I would interprete this song into colours it reminds me of Violet’s amazing pinkish violetish tileset with its fade and platonic arrangement between the tiles. This is mainly because of your sound wave distortions between the denser effects which you used very well in this track.I believe this music makes mathematically highly sense. It is a typically oldschool style between Coldplay and Jennifer Lopez beats. Very risky but successfully used. Bravissimo.derob.
[spellchecked]
It sounds only vaguely like Lagunicus. The insturments don’t really do much justice to it either.
you apparentely think you are funny. and i am apparentely confused because i dont know where is this song from.
Very Great Mix Of Tubeelectric
I Love This Song.

(Unsupported rating (9.1) removal. You have said nothing other than “this song is good” twice. So… uhh.. why? What makes it good? What do you appreciate about it? Are there any bad points? Etc? ~Violet)
Another one of the best remixes in j2o! I love this one! =)
The selecting of the samples is very good, just like the effect in the begining of the track. You’ve missed the main error of jj remixers, this track is not repetative and it nice. The thing I don’t like it’s the ending part. Ok, it’s beautiful how the melody changes, but I feel it too empty. I think it’s need a string instrument or something to the ending part…
Ok, it’s a good track, and I love it & hope you will realese another ones!
Winterland Thunderland… Legendar mix by my favorite (you know what’s sarcasm, no?) reviewer, Joseph Collins… Well, look at biased review by me.
Beggining samples are nice, they are going to tell this is not one from those stupid Tubelectric remixes. And it’s not.
It’s very soft… Tempo is very slow, samples are good in first tubelectric theme, in second it’s worse… They are also bit monotone. Beats are too quiet, mostly there are jingle-bells, sometimes hi-hats. It’s typical winter mix. Soft and ambient. It’s also repetitive.
(+) Ambient
(+) Winterful
(-) Repetitive
(-) Monotone samples
If searching some good music for your single player level, without much action, that’s it. Else, someone can enjoy, someone not.
Hi! And there is my review:
1: Song quality: Very good! 10
2: Lenght: 4:20 Very GOOD! 10
3: Nice sound effects choosen… 9
4: I think it will sounds better with a drum then the small noisy bells… 7
All to gether: 36:4= 9!
Darn i wont rate Music, but i must, cuz this is my favorit one (forgot NWcryst =D)
This is a nice one, but, make a harder beat from boom boom boom!!! thats cuz i like hardcore make the beat harder and i give a higher rating!
