The author said it took 15 minutes(!) to finish this level and thats what it looks like. There are lots of misplaced tiles/masks, events, weapons etc. and the background music doesnt fit in my opinion. The tileset used is one of Noraa’s great 3dbattle sets (still looks great, even in this level :-).
Now, seriously hac2k: if you really mean to make a level that people could rate high (over 5 points that is) you have to spend lots of hours of work in front of your Jazz Creation Station. Believe me. It needs a lot of effort. And im pretty sure all serious levelmakers and most of the serious reviewers here will agree with me.
Conclusion: It wont make much sense to continue posting "15-minutes-levels" here ‘cause the ratings won’t make you happy i guess. Just play around with JCS and try everything out. Have a look of some great levels and learn from them. Test your levels online and ask for comments. Sorry for the bad rating, i hope this helps :-)
Not too bad. A pack of three levels using Noraa’s awesome 3D tilesets. I esspecially like the third level (Emblem of Truth) because its pretty different from Noraa’s original levels.
Unfortunately, there are some minor tile(set)placement/mask/layer bugs and the music selection doesnt fit always in my opinion. However, its a nice pack and if you like interesting named 3d battle levels, you may want to download this.
Btw: Jeh tested this? Wow! :-)
Because i dont see any major improvements, i copied and pasted most parts of my review from the "previous" version of this level. And although the author calls it a "Final 1.2 release", its needs a lot of bugfixing.
—————
Not my favourite level. In my opinion there is a major lack of good design, eyecandy, length, weapon selection, enemy placement etc..
The blocks in MEZ01 are pretty easy to use, really. But if its your first, hac2k, you surely will get better hour by hour in front of the JCS.
I’m sorry, but i cant give a download recommendation for this level. Four points are ok i think.
—————
P.S.: I don’t even figured out what mode this is for (Battle? Hurt events! Enemies!), Single Player (Weapons? Exit?).
P.P.S.: You can not say things like "Dont criticize my level!" (see Readme) and post it here. This site is about critizising levels.
Seems to be a good, green & slimy (j/k) tileset that has some very useful tiles.
Add an example level and i’ll rate it 7. Very high six points for now.
"Medieval Frenzy" is a pretty neat Capture The Flag level by south african top 10 level maker Disguise, which finally makes use of a different tileset that is not completely overused.
The design is great and so is the layer work (aka eyecandy). I agree with FireClaw that there are too many weapons in certain places in the level, though.
Apart from that, my overall impression of this level is still very good. Add this to your collection of great levels!
Oh wow: Another Blade tileset. Im a big fan of Blades releases and this tileset pack is yet another example of the awesome quality they have.
The tileset itself looks very beautiful to my eyes and includes lots of useful tiles and many goodies like a cactus, spikes etc..
But what would be an #1 tileset like this without a good example level. "Burning Desert" has it, and it really rocks: a classic, not-too-small battle map with great design, good weapon placement and a rocking background music track!
In my humble opinion, "Burning Desert" is a MUST-DOWNLOAD!
When people join a battle server using this pack, the normal reaction is "WOW!!!". This reaction is caused by three very awesome 3Dish tilesets.
They look so d-a-m-n cool. Of course, i’m not sure if anyone will ever be able to make a different looking level (different from the three 3dbattles) with one of those tilesets. But that doesnt take away anything from my rating.
I even like the design and size of the levels very much. They fit perfectly for, lets say, a duel and you’ll have some plain battle fun (yay!) when three or more rabbits join. Furthermore, the lack of eyecandy doesnt matter, the tileset is eyecandy enough :-)
Conclusion: I think this pack is a classic that noone should miss (-> Download!).
Heh, i think its still a nice experimental tileset. Did you know i’m a Disguise fan? ;-)
An example level is attached, there are some basic tiles, a nice sky with clouds for layer 8 and no japanese pocket monsters. So what?
Okay, seriously…you should never do this experiment again! Its an order!
Wow, i really love the size and eyecandy of this level! In spite of the fact it uses Diamondus, which will never be my favourite set, this should be a lot of fun to play.
Design and weapon placement are pretty cool also. Im very undecided between seven and eight points here. Hmmm. High seven points! Dont forget to DOWNLOAD this NOW and host a battle server!
Although im not a big fan of the Carrottus tileset this is a pretty cool level me thinks.
The reward idea is kinda original, it has a very good layout and and a fairly high amount of what we call eyecandy. The weapon and coin placement is okay, too.
Conclusion: Every battle fan should add "Fortune Carrots!" to his/her collection!
The "PayPack" is another pretty good level pack including basically three battle maps, which make use of the Castle and the Jungle tileset. Some additonal night/day versions are also included.
The design (which, for example, also means weapon placement) and the eyecandy of the levels are great and i didnt discover any bugs or errors that would be worth mentioning. Thats why i really recommend to download these levels and to host a decent battle server :-)
Wow, this is pretty awesome again. You gotta like Blade’s tilesets, they are so beautiful! They kinda remind me of an oil painting. By the way, i also rate the tileset here because the previous uploaded versions of this tileset didnt work for me (dont know why though).
But the design of the level itself is of great quality also. Weapon placement plus layer work are very good so this will make a very cool battle server. A MUST DOWNLOAD i think!
P.S.: I couldn’t start the level using Jazz 2 Organizer. Hmm.
P.P.S.: Actually Hurt events in multiplayer levels are a bad idea. But if i take this as an example level for the tileset its ok (to show the spikes in the tileset :-).
P.P.P.S.: The pack includes a pretty good background music (although its a bit too "techno"-stylish i think).
Hmm, i think i already reviewed the "previous" version of this, but it seems like it was deleted.
Well, in my humble opinion the level still isnt an great enjoyment. The tile placement really doesnt look very beautiful, the design isnt very "open" and there isnt much eyecandy.
Besides, Tube Electric really needs some animated tiles.
Summary: If i had kids, i would not recommend them to download this. Um. Kids? Im still pretty much a kid myself :-) Whatever: High 4 points.
Not my favourite level. In my opinion there is a major lack of good design, eyecandy, length, weapon selection, enemy placement etc.. The blocks in MEZ01 (which is, btw, not included in the ZIP) are pretty easy to use, really. But if its your first, hac2k, you surely will get better hour by hour in front of the JCS.
Im sorry, but i cant give a download recommendation for this level. Four points are ok i think.
The design is absolutely terrific and its very very playable! Eyecandy is not very original or anything, tho’ (as always in Jeh’s levels). And Shadow is right, this could really make a good 4th default battle level.
"Under Siegeness" is another important part of J2 community history, thats why everyone should add it to his or her homecooked level folder and host a server once in a while.
P.S.:
I dont like full energy carrots like the one in "Under Siegeness". They decrease the playing fun sometimes.
"Beach Brawl" is a great old beach level by great old Jeh. Its CTF, the design (including weapon placement) is truly awesome (as always) and the eyecandy is good.
Another legendary homecooked level for your CTF collection (Download now!).
Evil Mike showed us how to use this J1 tileset in his beautiful Shine-O-Rific level.
Now, this level includes great background music (very good choice!!! its from the game "Fury of the Furries") and uses a superb custom tileset but the most important things are nearly completely missing: design and eyecandy!
The selection of weapons is good i think.
To sum it up: this level has more potential, the author should spend some more hours in front in front of his/her JCS. But if you like high quality tracked music, you should download this.
I really like this "Library": it includes a very cool tileset (remember its made with Evil Paint) and a level that makes use of that tileset very very well. Design and eyecandy are on a pretty high level.
I’ll give out very high seven points for this demo version and i really look forward to see and rate the finished levelpack. It’ll sure deserve eight or more points then!
Pretty good-looking battle level. The design is interesting, too, eyecandy is okay and the background music is a very good choice.
Another great addition to your battle level collection: Download now (high seven points!).
Great single player level, pretty much "Epic" style (i wonder why :))). Its way too easy though (-> Epic style :).
