Huh? Twise an upload, don’t upload same levels!
Hm, “A Shot For A Diamond”, an interesting name. The weapon placement was okay, you can hop around freely, lot’s of springs for the gameplay. A good, big level. The eyecandy is a bit overused in my opinion. The autor have used layer 5, wich is a background layer, for eyecandy on sprite layers. I think the autor have used almost every layer, much eyecandy on the foreground. An when you use to much eyecandy, the level get’s ugly and not very attracive.
GAMEPLAY: Good! 8.5
EYECANDY: Bad to medium: 6.5
PICKUPS: Pickups are hard to place, good spreaded. Good to very good: 9.0
FUN FACTOR: Good, but I won’t play it again I think… 7.5
CONCLUSION:
A good old Diamondus level, lot’s of eyecandy and pickups. Doesn’t get boring and your hop around because there are many springs and poles. To bad you have used some layers bad. That cave stuff on layer 3 doesn’t look very good. But I think it’s your best level so far, keep up the good work and practise on eyecandy!
Please alsow inculde a example level. But it is a nice titleset with a lot of animating titles.
Well, this is an ok tileset. The first thing that bugged me is that the example level is missing. Also, that the theme of the tileset is hard to tell, most of the tiles have little to do with each other. Some tiles are missing and the tileset isnt as easy to use. It has a lot of animating tiles, but they arent really important if you think about it. Anyways, the texture is good, but the theme could of been better. I think a 7 settles this. As well as a download reccomendation.
It’s nice to finally see a battle/CTF hybrid level that doesn’t amount to a newbish work. This level obviously suffers from the fact that navigation in battle and CTF levels should be different. However, it makes up for this fact pretty well by having very good eyecandy and pretty good weapon placement. I didn’t get stuck except when I was actually trying to, and playing in both modes was generally smooth. However, seeing a CTF base in battle just seems “off.” I can’t explain how, but I won’t degrade for this. It’s just that it doesn’t look natural and is often a sign of poor levelmaking. Despite the problems that this level faces for being a hybrid CTF/battle level, it’s still very good. Definitely worth a download for those who want multipurpose levels.
Not bad at all. Download recommendation.
Not bad, not bad at all.
While warps in CTF levels annoy me, they are used fairly well here. Download recommendation.
Is the title a Bond joke? ;-P
But, anyway, this is a very nice level. It’s especially good for battle based netplay. Download today!
This is ever so slightly below average. The gameplay is OK, and placement of weapons is OK as well, but eyecandy is far below average. Sorry, but I can’t recommend this level at all for download, except for the most rabid CTF fans who will even be willing to play a level with only average gameplay and below average eyecandy in place of no CTF at all, which lately seems a lot of people (like me.) ;-P
This is my all time favorite tileset.
I like this lvl becouse its medivo tileset here are some points of why like it 1.great i candy 2.best weapons 3.Good music
Catz :]
Aiko, if you want an example level, go
to J2C and download “Final Fantasy Jazz”
Its very orignal (RPG).
Oh yes the tileset.
very very good. I made Ancient City (Here on J2O) a while ago, and Ancient Town (Never submitted, deleted) with it and they were both…nice.
All in all…..Good job.
You know, this level isn’t half bad. The eye candy in this level was used very nicely.
Wish I could say for the design… The design is decently good. Not the best.
Anyway, the warps I don’t find are used THAT nicely, but OK.
Anyway, well worth a download.
Good design, decent base placement, blah, blah. I must say, a good amount of the level is left blank. I do not suggest doing this.
I like these CTFs more than I thought.
Good job!
This level isn’t too bad. I dislike the layout a bit. Also, I don’t see the point of the tubes. Also, the name doesn’t fit.
Level also needs to be more out in the open, really. You won’t have the funnest games of CTF with this level, really. But worth seeing.
Rocking level design! Good weapon placement. Size is right.
The only problem: There’s too much diamondus levels.
Laguna, you’re professional.
Nothing much to add to Aiko’s review. I liked the layout and the eye candy was good. Using the freezy things is something you should be careful with, it really annoyed me…
The music was OK but like Aiko said, freeze.j2b would have worked better.
Download or not? Sure. :-)
Another decent battle map by Laguna.
Design and eyecandy are pretty good and it uses one of my favourite tilesets.
The stopwatches behind the ice are kinda original (and annoying :-) and the background music sounds pretty cheap (the original freeze.j2b would have been a much better choice; custom music for Epic tilesets isn’t a good idea most of the times).
But Battle fans will like this anyways so they should DOWNLOAD NOW. Lucky LOW seven points from me.
I would rate this, but it’s battle.. sorry Laguna, I know you wanted me to see it :)
Not a bad level here.
I must admit Laguna’s levels keep getting better as he makes more, so I can expect more good levels from him soon enough. :-)
I really like the eye candy here, as it was used well. However if you look towards the cave parts near the bottom you’ll notice mostly repetitive tiling. Bad idea.
The design is great, fluent and very worth playing.
Weapon placement could have been improved, as there were just a little too many powerups scattered around.
Overall DEFINITELY worth a download, thus I order you to get this now! :-)
