With level names like ‘Rocks AND Bombs’
and ‘The great tree’ I’ll have to play this pack to see if my fears are correct: There is a pack worse than the first Iluz land.
EDIT-
I’d like to point out, DX, that some people only have 1.24.

I’m afraid you’re not getting a 7 from me. I’ll let you know this immediantly.
When the two most memorable things are
A:The end
and
B: The frustrating difficult part before the end
Then I really don’t have much to work with. But then again, it’s still fun.
This is level is short, that means it’s not bad but it feels empty. Or maybe not empty, but like an example level for a tileset. While I don’t mind it’s charm, and quirky mindset (I had a dream, then converted it to a JJ2 level), there isn’t much to say when the interactivity is lacking. As always, theres a gimmick to keep you interested. In the Inferno 2:Hell’s Gate example level, that was find all the coins. Here, it was dodge fast flames and go deliver some ham.
Since everything before that was linear and ho-hum, this review is mainly going to focus on those 2 parts which literally make up the second half of the level. What I do remember from the first part is the otherwise stale eyecandy, but then again I had to consider the tileset which was at hand, and for the tileset the eyecasndy was fairly good. Now on to the gameplay. The first part has none. Trust me, it’s too bland. The first cool part(which is not a fond memory) is the reflex testing fire caves. But I do not like it when I am forced to Uppercut and then if I press left to late, I’m running into the flames I just passed by(This happened to me a few times) and in the end, You just rely on how far you can go with the short invinciblity you get from being hurt. The next cool part is pushing a crate over to a predetermined point. On a straight path. Devoid of obstacles. Why then, is this level so fun? Because of it’s quirky, mindless design. You get a 6.0, quality wise it’s not all there but somehow you made this level fun. Maybe it’s because its not as time consuming as other quality devoid levels, so all you are forced to remember the excellent parts.

Download Reccomendation? Heck yes, this level takes so little time to complete, it’s little quirkly mindless, linear gameplay will feel so incredibly awesome. And then afterwards, you’ll wonder why the heck you had fun playing it in the first place. Oh and it’s more fun to take the path that takes you to the Fire cave. Well if fun equals frustrating until you time yout invincibilty bursts right.
EDIT= 6.4=/=6.0

/note: Fixed./
/note two, it is best to go to the last paragraph to avoid the long part of the review/
This Sequel to Iluz Land answers some questions, and opens some new ones. While the first featured many lands, the second only features 4 areas. In that sense, it isn’t bigger, but it is better. Also it is impossible to play as Lori.

Right off the bat you’ll notice that somethings here were ‘borrowed’ by Invasion of Deserto. The intro level runs just like the one in IoD, and that one bilsy related episode that Criminiclown. Anyways, the story is that Iluz Land was actually a trap(I love how it was called a scandal as well :]) which was set up by Devan. I can only assume that then trap was a VR simulation, but who knows. Jazz goes to Devan’s castle, named Castle Devanestien. And battles Devan, loses and is tossed in the Dungeon. Jazz finds that Eva is also tossed in a dungeon. You find a secret exit(Devan seems to have a tendency to leave those around. Hmmmmm) and promise to save Eva after you find and defeat Devan(Because he has the keys or something).

What follows is one of the best levels Iluz has produced. You’ll notice multiple pathways, and bats in decieving areas. Sometimes the bats have the advantage because of their number, or because they blend in with the scenary, some even wait out of your reach. This is a step up from Lost in Many Worlds. There are some hidden areas, and dead ends. The eyecandy is above average, and certantly is not bland. You must find a way out alternative to the front door, and that path happens to lead to the pack’s worst level.

The pack’s worst level should be skipped. It does not include any good pieces of info to the story and is not very well constructed. Take the level ‘Madness’ Put it in a bland frozen hell setting, and you’ve got this level. There are many instances where the challenge lies in defeating tons of enemies that are hurled at your face. Not very fun in my opinion. There is a Copter Carrot session, which is very bland and not worth the trouble. Fourtantly, this bland challenge is at the end of the level, so if you actually play this level you will know where the end is. Your rabbit will proceed to hop up some icy steps and will enter the world above. Also worthy to take not eof is unlike the game’s other 3 areas, the hell under Devan’s castle is only visted once, and good riddance. Outside you’ll notice that it has gone from a red evening to a purple night. There is a bit of story that is easily missed, a mysterious being named Somebody tells you to find some coins to use as fare to get onto Devan’s space station. The Bank is closed, so one must hunt down another way to get some loose change. This level’s quality is in between the first and second playable level’s. It is also very maze like. This area also borrows the most from IoD. One eventually finds the east caverns which leads to a showdown with Tuf. Tuf is apparently the only person around with money, and he’ll part with it if you defeat him. Beating Tuf displays the pack’s first backtracking session.

The following level is essentially the same as the last, only with some key differnces. First is the starting point where you now can collect a coin. Next is the fact that the bank is open. Apparently lots of people needed to use the bank, because it’s crowded. The only way to make a withdrawal is to take out the float lizards, and take a coin from the safe. The next is either some karate kicks, or constant space bar tapping. You then return to where you met somebody now that you have enough coins, and he instructs you on how to use them. You are then taken to Spacestation Etta.

This level is like QoB. Infact, it’s alot like QoB only it’s on a much smaller scale, the emphasis is on finding many triggers instead of confusing locales, and there is a showdown with Devan. Defeating Devan takes you to a redux of the level where you must find a way out. Both levels are highly confusing with bland eyecandy and cramped areas. But it’s a nice change of pace from battling a line of 30 enemies. Escaping the space station returns you to carrotus, where it is morning.

Somebody is missing, but the castle is open. This level has the layout intact from previous backtracks, but you only need to visit a tiny bit of it. Which returns you to Castle Devanstien, which is also essentially an empty daytime version of the original. However a few bats are still left over. The real final battle is when you go to where Eva was being held, and you must defeat two Bubbas. Unfourtantly the pair makes for a lame final boss. Which leads to a credits sequence that basically screams sequel.

All in all, this is not a bad pack, however some levels are still lacking in quality. The enemy placement in some areas is a step up from past packs from Iluz, but the eyecandy could use some work in some levels. Also some areas were too empty while others were too packed with enemies. And he story was a nice touch, unfourtantly it can only be properly understood if one tries as hard as possible to find all of the text strings. For most players, this pack will be very mudane, but if you’re like me and all you’ve recently played is “Lost in other worlds” and other lowly reviewed levels, this pack is a breath of fresh air.
Final score- 5.2
Download reccomendation? Yes, but only if you’ve been playing levels that are rated under 3 points for the paste few weeks.
Review also serves as- an extensive journal of what I did in the X edition of Iluz land, so if you’ve been betatesting FSP 2 or some other stellar level pack like that, you don’t have to waste the time to play the levels.
[Apparently, FSP is regestered as FPS in my brain. Also you can now download the missing tilesets.-n00b]

Danyjel has amazed me.
This level is breathless. It’s a new landmark for JJ2 levels from which all levels should be judged. How? Let’s find out. :)
Eyecandy-10/10
Danyjel has created a realistic looking drop area. How this was accomplished with the tileset, or even JJ2 is beyond me. THAT’s just how good the world you play in looks. Nextgen systems got nothing on this. Even Jazz looks better!
Story-NA/NA
There is a very enticing story that is here. But it’s up to you to create it! How astonishing!
Placement-10/10
Everything in the level is placed correctly. No warp bugs or missing warps at the end. Yay.
Gameplay-10/10
This level is beyond words. You can do many things on your plummet. First choice: Do you want to fall as Jazz or Spaz? And using Jazz 2’s cheats you can even change your rabbit midflight! And if you so wish, be a frog or a hip-hop! Amazing! You can also change what direction you are facing! Such grand choices. Clearly the sandboxy nature of this level makes it the most advanced level currently made for JJ2.
Final Verdict-Excellent level, and great music. You just have to play it to belive it. Do I get my 100 euros now?
Final Score- 10/10
Download Reccomendation? Yes!
Play Co-op/Online? Of course! Not sharing this experience would be plain mean!
Also useable as- A handy thermos.

Iluz knows that Iluz land was too large for it’s own good, so then he/she(I don’t know) creates a new pack that feels the same, but smaller. And it’s every bit as good as Iluz Land, and maybe even better. A sentence which here means ‘Still below a 5’
Let’s start off with Mission Metroid. Ok, there are plenty of sprite sites around. A quick tileset is all what was needed(seriously). Instead we have Blade’s tileset for Space stuff. It’s a good tileset, but for Metroid? Ah-no.The Music is even worse. It’s some generic 70s techno mixed with people laughing. The Music has a horrendously Un-metroid feel. Oh, and in pure Iluz fashion you collect lots of gems. To destroy the motherbrain(Which is just a bunch of computers) you collect some TNT. Beat some badly placed enemies and move on. To where? To Devan. Who apparently has decided to stop you with THE SUPER BOT!(Fear it.) The Superbot is an easy boss. Give it some advantage, people. Placing it in a small flat area with Devan watching ovehead is giving me the advantage. Anyways beat it and Devan says: “Impossible I lose.” Hopefully you like Engrish for our next level is..
LOTS OF BOSSES! WHich starts of giving you tons of fastfires(in pure Tons of Bosses level fasion) and some NPCs spouting out engrish Star wars phrases. Next comes a bunch of bosses. But all I got to was Devan, an unused Super bot(You need a different devan for that to work. I know. Shocker), Bolly, and Bubba. My shots hurt Bubba so I decided to focus my time on him. And when I beat him I get the message of “Lori:Lot’s of bosses”
The next level seems to be done by someone else because it’s worse than usual and it starts with “Welcome to my level” but eventually it feels like Iluz made it because you collect crap for no reason. Then fight 5 bosses in one arena or something. i wasn’t in the mood to fight umpteen bosses on an airboard flying near 90 too many hurt events being chased by uterus. So Iskipped it. The next level has a bad placement of tiles(A masked erm, I’m not in the mood I’ll get a pic up maybe) so I had cheat to get past that. Then theres tons of lizards, a big fall, more float lizards and a fight with 1(WHAT? ONE? What happened to 5 Shmijillion?)bilsy.
The Eyecandy is once again too plain, and everything past the first level is too lame.
If this was just the first level you would recieve a 3, maybe a 4. I liked that level to some extent, but everything else is horrible, bringing the score to 1.8.
Steer clear of this pack. If you are just craving for the SP munchies, just go play TDI,TR,FSP, and other more memeroble packs all over again.

EDIT- I will rate less harshly if J2O has a “Beginer’s/Simple Single Player” area. Until then, I must rate as fairly as possible(which means I rate like I normally do).
Avid readers of my reviews(that means -1 people) will recall the messy and sloppy review I did on Badger’s “Redwall Abbey” level. That was a level that showed promise, but was too short and too simple. This level is like the latter, but nothing at all like the former. This level has no potential. For added fun play in 300×200, since it really doesn’t matter.
Gameplay-2/10
Too simple and linear. Some triggers add a point since most levels like this don’t use those.
Layout-1/10
Linear, linear paths, and Lizards and turtles placed in simple places. Horrendus.
Placement-.5/10
Sadly, the enemies have no edge over Jazz/Spaz/Lori. The crates/triggers are in no special area either. There was one instance in which the lizards attacked an unsuspecting player who used a trigger crate which was deviously nice.
Eyecandy-1/10
At least you used a layer 5 background, otherwise What eyecandy?
Story-NA/NA
Erm… Some british alternate universe version of Hocus Pocus is attacked by Lizards and Turtles.
Extra Fun-NA/NA Play as Lori and use her sidekick-ish manuver while holding Shift and the jump button, make sure you hit a lizard. WHOOOOOOOOOSH!
Final score-1.125(or 1.1)
Download reccomendation? No, but the british Terexin/Fooruman is good for a quick laugh at how stupid it seems.

True Madness? Not even. True madnes is when you’re snowboarding down a mountain in your EXTREEEME Loonatic underwear being chased by 3 pirates to get to… Right, anyways what Iluz has made is a normal test like level, which is enough to bore you to death, but like Kramer did with the blue flower stuff in Batman Begins, Iluz has weaponized an otherwise rather harmless level. Not even Low Detail will save you from this, oh and near the end when Jazz is trapped in the pit of doom, don’t fly you’re way out wait a bit and get hit by a smoke ring, thats EXTREEEEME!
Right, since the level’s design is linear and puts you in two situations where the objective is “Don’t get hurt!” and one situation where its “Copter ears? Erm… I’m Spaz… But I can doble jump to the end of the pit and then double jump out of it. And Lori can just sidekick her way out.” The only challenge comes from not being swift, and not being distracted. It took me about 4 minutes to have my eyes hurt so I just jjgod’d my way out of the level(I for some reason always wanted to destroy every last being in the pit)
And then you are treated to a sucker tube ending and then you’re done.
You get a .1 because gameplay and level just plain sucked, the eyecandy did more harm then good, and heck I had more fun playing A Sad Beach(You’ve done the impossible since I promised never to mention a Sad Beach ever again so an other .1 for you). In fact a Sad beach is more fun than this.
Download Reccomendation: HECK NO. Unless you want something thats trippy for about 5 seconds(See:Smoke ring part) then I would never hit that Download button. EVER.
To Iluz: the gameplay could be improved if the situations were much harder(For example, have all of the spike balls go fast, and have the bird part be in a smaller area so the enemies have an advantage) and NEVER HAVE THAT HORRIBLE FLASHY TILE THING EVER EVER AGAIN

Bleh, what a poorly constructed pack. However, for first levels there are somewhat nice, but to be fair I must rate these as I would any SP level (pack).
Story-NA/10
None. I remember someone saying the Forgotten Gems pack was just a bunch of levels loosely strung together. Quite simply, this pack is the same, only being connected by a ‘Next level’ option in the JCS, and not a weak storyline. From the first few levels you’d guess that Ilus is some random dude who has lots of lands and Jazz/Spaz/Lori must go and stop some turtle infestation.
Eyecandy-5/10
Bare minimum, and some tiles just seem to be tossed in( See: Randomly animated blocks that aren’t there for any real apparent reason in the Tubelectric level)
Gameplay-4/10
Repetive, Repetive, repetive. Fight enemies, collect a HUGE ammount of goodies, enter a coin warp, rinse wash, repeat. However the Easter level was actually pretty fun, bringing this from a 3 to a 4.
Placement-3/10
Enemies in logical, predictable places, too many goodies(I must of gotten 5 sugar rushes at times when I didn’t need them), and sometimes coins seem tossed in just for no reason(Example: the ice level, if there was a working bonus warp, I never found it). However I stopped playing at the beach level(It simply got too boring), so it might have gotten better. Also, some levels have Bosses in rather dull arenas.
Difficulty-1/10
None, it’s so incredibly easy, the only way the levels would pose a challenge is if you can’t hurt anything.
Final Score-3.3/10
Verdict- Not bad for a first level pack, but compared to the average SP level, it is very poor.

Download Reccomendation? No, not yet anyhow. Wait until this person becomes very good or average at level making, then download this to see how far they have come. Otherwise, steer clear of this.
Co-op? No. A second player wouldn’t add much to the expereice.

Dizzzang! It’s n00b here to review something, and let’s see what we got. A tileset from 2002, and Ugh! It’s so MS painty! But that’s not too bad. This tileset would be perfect for tests, but not much else. There are some simple tileset enemies, and some nesscary tiles, but not too many. Eyecandy tiles? Hmmm, well there are some aliens(Tileset enimies, or destructable), Some animations, and not much else. Really not much that you could use in other layers. It also has some rain tiles, which is a nice addition.
In closing, this tileset is MS Panty, few people will use it for tests, fewer will use it for anything other than tests, and even fewer will like the tileset.
Best Tile- The crashed rocket
Would be better if- Redone, reshaded, and had a textured BG.

Finally, I get TSF installed(spent the whole day trying to find my CD), so I can review this level. Can it make me feel like I didn’t waste my morning and early afternoon? Let’s find out.
Level Design-7.5/10
It somewhat reminds me of a compact version of a level Cliffy might have made, but there are some tile annoyances(For example, some background tiles are used in the sprite layer and back layers). Another thing is the trigger crate’s left does not have a warp, and can lead the player too an ‘endless’ pit of doom. The secrets in the level seem remiscent of the secrets you’d find in official levels(coin warps, gems in walls etc. etc.). The boss arena does not work well for Bubba for he jumps through the tiles, however this is addressed in the readme. Finally, the biggest flaw is that the level is too short. Oh, and the coin warp doesn’t use a normal coinwarp booth, but instead a dotted tile, which I thought was somewhat odd.
Story-NA/10
There is no story here, but if I had to make a guess, Devan’s time warping has further messed up Tubelectric sending in rifts of time from which creatures and objects not native to the planet come through. You go to the planet and try to seal these time rifts and destroy the unnative goons.
Eyecandy-6/10
Avearge stuff acheived from a tubelectric tileset, not too excellent.
Difficulty-7/10
On multiplayer, I had some trouble thanks to the sparks and a bee. Also, newer players may not use the BBB ammo needed to solve an early puzzle the correct way. This is bad because the ammo does not regenearate.
Placement-7/10
Very average placement, save for a bee, there is nothing that was too horrbile or too genious. Some good points were the placement of the Seekers and a few other secrets. A very bad point is Bubba’s placemnet.
Closing-
It’s a good start, but in the future I’d like to see a larger level, and see where the other average points stretch or constrict from there.

Download Reccomendation?-Yes, but only if you need a short diversion.
Co-op?-No, with this small space Co-op would hinder the collection of some of the secrets, and ends to quickly before any teamwork happens. However, the pit near the trigger crate can be used to trick a friend into oblivion. Whoo.

Hmm this is an odd thing to rate.
However, the lyrics seem to make since to Jazz Jackrabbit I think a line goes “The Pace is Too Fast, You Just Won’t Last”, and Tubelctric fits in with the song(some points its hard to tell if they wer interwinded or if this was or the song actually is)
It’s more of an curiosity though, like Battery Check. However it may gain a cult following(Such as ZIM or Alien Homind). I personally liked it, and this good for people who like non-video game music and like rock/Linkin Park. The silence at the end is a bit awkward though. Being a fan of both rock and the tubelectric music, this final rating mayb be a bit biased, but I say an 8.

Well, I’m typing this review as I listen. So here we go:
Begining- Some Chinese blips, gone to Turtemple. It sounds somewhat 8-bitish, but it stops
After Sudden Halt- It picks up, theres drums, that clapping noise, overall sounds like a Hong Kong Dance Club.
Sometime After that Part-
As soon as I typed Hong Kong Dance club I began to hear a sound from JJ3 that adds to the Hong Kong Club esque theme I’m feeling. It stops feeling Asian for a short point, but it goes back. By this point I’m 2:48 in to the song.
3 Minutes Mark- Mainly what I’ve been hearing. At 3:30, begins to fade out.

My Only complaint is the Chinese/Asian sounds are too 8 bit-ish feeling, and at times I lose the Asian Vibe and it seems too techno/Night Club-ish so, based on a caculation method I made up at the last minute I’m going to give it an 8.2, here’s why:
Pros-
Keeps an Asian vibe for the most part
When adding new ‘instrument’s it ussualy feels natural.
Some how still seems like Turtemple even though it used 1 theme from it.
Cons-
Loses Asian feel around 2:15 for a bit
Asian sounds are a bit too 8 bittish.

I wouldn’t reccomed it for an asian level unless it was something simmilar to Downtown Tokyo, but it does make a nice listen.

No reivews, 34 downloads. How sad. So, out of the goodness of my heart I bring you n00b’s review!
Alrightiness, here we go.
Level Desing-8/10
This level is refreshingly linear. Basically, a level you want to play as a cool down after you beat a rather complex level/pack. This level is a set path, which you sometimes stray off of to hit a trigger crate so you can continue your path. Which is ussualy bad, but Fearofdark pulls this off nicely. The result is a fun level which you will strive to beat(which isn’t all that hard). My 2 complaints are a bug near the end of the level where I cannot hit a spring, thus forcing me to use JJFLY, and the fact there are no checkpoints, so if a raven near the end of the level kills you, you have to start from square one.
Story-NOT RATED
In case you’re thinking, “Wow, sounds like a level with no story” you’re wrong. This part of the review will not change the score this time since it is only meant to inform. The story(from what I gather) is this: Devan attacks a city, so you go to stop him. But it’s a trap! So you escape the trap via secret passage way, and decide to rid the city of the remaining goons and leave.
Eyecandy-8/10
The eyecandy is above average. For the most part it looks like an official level, except bare. And there is one annoyance: The Doodril Optical ads that get in your way. Now, if they had some pratical use for a puzzle I wouldn’t be complaining, I understand something blocking your way can make a puzzle fun(somehow) but in normal gameplay, it’s annoying. Especialy while fighting off ravens.
Difficulty-7/10
Nothing too hard, the only thing that made this level challengin is the lack of checkpoints. But if you aren’t reckless like me, then you should beat it no sweat. The puzzles aren’t all that hard either(however, there was one oppurtunity for a great puzzle in which you would have to conserve ammo for, but the author left some of the needed ammo lying nearby. Go figure)
Placement-7.8/10
It’s average, but hey, there’s not alot you can do with a linear level. It gets a boost because some of the enemy placement seemed ingenious with the Doodril optical blocking the view, but it ends up being annoying.
Closing-
In the end, this is an average level which is good to play as a cool down from a harder/more complex level/pack.

Download Recommendation? Yes.
Co-op? Quite possibly, it could help having a buddy to fight off some of the goons.

The tileset’s theme is a castle. It’s got cannons, thrones, soildiers, a king, a warring faction, a throne, H and V Poles, arrows, signs, spikes, and other such required tiles. For a background, it’s got two MS painty-ish clouds, you also get two shades of blue to choose from (if you want day or night) Nothing all too fancy. The art style is all right, but for the cannons it seems as if that someone got a little to Gradient happy, which clashes with the ho-hum cluod background.
My other complaint is that the cannons are ok for sucker tubes, save for the fact that they only go horizontal. Nothing verticle for you to be shot through.
However, the castle flooring and walls look good. Along with the Purplians and Brickians. It would easy to make tileset bosses/enemies with this tileset, but would more excellent if there were animations for the soildiers attacking. Also, Brickman seems to have his tiles placed twice for little reason.
I could see someone actually make a pretty decent level with this tileset, but the eyecandy wouldn’t amaze anyone.
In fact, if theres something other than 5-9 number blocks, and verticle sucker tubes, and a good background, eyecandy tiles seem to be the only thing missing.
I’d reccomend it to someone but I wouldn’t expect them to like it.
So the overall score for this level is a 6.7,it’s good, but not extremely good.

This was a really good song. I’ve had it on repeat in my playlist since I downloaded it sometime yesterday until six minutes ago.

As it’s been said there are no new parts added, but I really don’t mind. Imo, it sounds great without any extra patterns.
There are some parts (like the beginning) which feel a bit slow or bland, but not enough for me to downgrade it much.

LRK did a great job on this one, so you should download it and listen to it, if you haven’t already.
