Eh… how do you listen to the music without playing it in JJ2?
This mix is better than the first one but there are still a lot of things that can be improved.
A- Samples (Still to beepy)
B- Pitching- the base is still not in tune with the melody.
C- The intro of the song is too long and boring.
I give this mix a 4.7.
Well I like it. Catchy. But short. If I had a cell phone this would be it’s ring tone.
[Rating (6) clearance blablabla ~Cooba]
Mostly good. I like it’s fast beat.
(I guess I’m not in the mood for an interesting review.)
ANYWAY
Do Orbitus next, or Scraparap.
The song isn’t bad just sounds like it lacks something a to me…not really sure what..anyway good song!
Not only am I the first downloader, I am the first commenter.
I particulary liked this tubelectric remix, but it feels like a mere instrument change at times.
Introduction:
Turtemple as heard a’la polyphonic cell phone ringtone! . . .not really.
Song Analysis:
Repeatitive. Short. Not exactly sweet. Initially, the beeps sort of collide with one-another, but after listening to it for a loop or two, it sounds fine enough. Like I said, though. It’s very repeatitive. I. . .genuinely have no idea what Crusader was going for in making this file. It sounds like a Cracker intro theme now, actually. Like the sort of thing you’d find on an intro to pirated software or something. Not even a “chiptune,” really. Just. . . Beepy. Might make a good ringtone for someone’s cell phone. . .
Sample Analysis:
Beeps, heavy drums, and some low basslines. I think I also detect a sample or two from the original song, but I could be wrong. No real complaints here, other than the beeps hurt my head. Even on low volumes, they sort of blare. Kind of annoying.
Final Analysis:
This song is a good wake-up call and a better cell phone ringtone, but overall, I don’t know why this was uploaded. It’s alright. . .but it’s boring. That’s why I give it a 3.7 score, but also a Download Recommendation. Because it’s not very unique, but unique enough to give a listen.

“Dr Lithius” or “LithiuServer” on Jazz 2
Lark! You forgot to put him into the credits! You used his melody from Toxice Eclipse, if you don’t know…
EDIT: Thanks. ;P
Heh… Well, Cruk you must practice, but I think you’re going up and up :)
There is very good idea in music and merging some samples together.
Ending of song and rythm is nicely invented but can be heard some piece of non-advanced musician work…
You must make up tuning and other things connected with samples. I give you 5.5 cuz it’s very good begining. (This rating is so high for beginners, trust me!)
I’ll tell you according to Danyjel: Keep remixing!
Small info: I’m Crusader’s mix-teacher).
I’ve Never actually heard the original Fanolint. But I have heard many remixes of it sooo… yea I came up with this.
HAH! The original Fanolint is weak :P
I think this song really deserved remixing :P
Aww aww aww… First remixes. Almost always suck and are totally unlistenable. In most of cases they are just bad resamples or milion of unsynthesized channels at once. I thought I know what I can expect…
Whoa Whoa Whoa!!! I suck :). And you rock, apparentely. Of course, it has features of begginer’s mix and 95 % of people recognise that this is newbie’s piece, but it does not mind. Because this is just great start, Crusader.
No offtuned channels, original melodies, good samples, nice effects, awesome background melody… Not everyone can vaunt of so good start.
I think every pattern is fine, although it doesn’t sound so good altogether. Too many only-actual-lead breaks just… break it. Samples, as I said are chosen very well, original melodies are nice also. But the thing I had really problems to put with, was the rhythm. Thanks to fast rhythm (what’s well), there are too fast beats. Hi-hats work similary like clasps, normally, with difference of that clasps are normally on second, not first beat… Clasps here work as ordinar hi-hats, with some oww moving by two rows. This sounds bad in this tune, just because you are begginer, but I think when you will play with rhythm a while, you will be able to do just fantastic rhythms.
The tune is very, very short, has only 1:22, what’s really dislong. During that, tune is grading, (bass, beats, back, hi-hats, clasps, lead) and the climax is about 0:45, where lead starts. That’s pretty late, but it’s okay here. Cause lead begins to be repetitive and one little really nice modify is only at the end, after playing five same lead melodies from Fanolint, which itself is pretty repetitive… Song reminds me Dr Eggman a lot, it will be apparentely because of the samples, which Eggman and Crusader use.
(+) Great start in remixing
(+) Good, very well modified background melody
(+) Harmony
(+) Samples
(-) Breaks between patterns
(-) Rhythm
(-) Length
(-) Repetitive at the end
You see rating. Why only 4? Cause I must be fair, I review tunes, not artists. Really, not everyone get four points for his first mix. Just keep practising, and you’ll be great. You have talent, I am sure. But don’t forget. Practising.
And download recommendation? Sure, if you want to hear original melodies, which don’t hurt to ears. But… Expect begginer work. Although great, still begginer.
To Crusader: So go download it all. It’s all uploaded on lot of places, Jazz2Online is no except. Or, if you have original Jazz1, you can listen to PSM music in ModPlug Tracker. You must keep remixing, I really see that you have talent, in difference of someones…
Hmm, i guess im better off at making lvls than music, coz of the other crap music i uploaded earlier. anyways, when i have time, i will get rid of the graphical bugs:P and ummmm, arti, why does ur rating keep dropping???
EDIT: Ah.. I see…
And i think it’s great! Music is good for level.. Good eye candy!
I give 8,7 for it! :D
(Unsupported rating removal. You tried, but all you really said was “this is good this is good ok bye”. We could use some specific examples, and it might help if you actually mentioned the level design. On a final note, commas are for big numbers like “1,000,000”, not decimal points like “1.5”.)
Very nice!!
Eyecandy: This is really nice. A lot of lava holes in the wall for eyecandy and you added a lot more stuff. Even though they are there to point out a suckertube, the blocks thingies do look a little bit weird. You did include those x shapey things, which look good :)
Gameplay: Is nice, but not really good. A lot of dead ends. You could use springs to make them jump up, because left and right there are dead ends… Mostly at least. Nice use of sucker tubes!
Weapons: Good placement, some places there is A LOT of them. You put in PU. I don’t think there is anything wrong apart from a lot of them in one space, while sometimes the other parts of the level are almost empty.
Bugs: Completely down in the level, with the red springs where you jump to the rope, Spaz can make it but Jazz can’t. Pos 37.93.
And great chatroom :)
Nice level, but try to work on dead ends :)
Note: I think you are allowed to use music as long as you give credit.
EDIT: Because I kept changing my reviews to some other bugs I either saw after posting it or things I forgot.
Stuff Placement: well, there’s black
Enemies: darkness
Eyecandy: howbout you
Funness: not really
just kind of a usefull level.
download this if you like to take screenshots without the backround.
This lvl is quite useful, but also a pointless upload because ppl can easily create screenshot lvls for themselves. It would also help if you added some arrows to tell ppl where to go, or enabled low detail so that ppl can see where they’re going before wandering around getting lost. Apart from that…er…yeah, this lvl does its job well because everything’s black…and that’s it. There is a suckertube at the bottom, just for fun. ;-P No DL recommendation, however. :-p
