I like the concept of turning a dream into a level. However, the level itself is slightly disappointing.

Gameplay: 4/10
Within the first few second of playing, I found the gameplay a bit lacking. At the very start, I jumped and found that midway through the building I was standing in front of, the tiles became masked. This feels very unnatural and confusing. Throughout the entire level I continued to find misleading tiles. On occasion the same tile was used in layer 3 and 4 or 4 and 5 which is rarely a good idea. Also, many tiles were used with no explanation at all. For example, Bower threw green block which seemed tome to be a platform you’re supposed to jump on until I touched it and found it hurt. The level also felt too short. If it had taken longer to beat, I would have enjoyed it more. Not everything was bad though. There were at least a couple secrets and you have some places where multiple different paths can be chosen.

Eyecandy: 5/10
The level looks like an old Mario game. In general, things don’t look bad, although the green pipes don’t look connected to whatever they’re next to. Also, some things just look too square to me, and don’t appear natural. Layers 1,2,6 and 7 are not used at all. This is understandable with the tileset choice, although I can’t say I’m thrilled at the tileset choice itself.

Event Placement: 3/10
I was not impressed by the event placement. There was no ammo or food, and the number of gems was rather limited. Enemies felt thrown in as an afterthought and were either absurdly easy to kill or incredibly annoying. Case in Point: When you reach Eva, you hit a sucker tube and (on hard mode at least) a float lizard will start throwing bombs at you before you get out of the tube. This caused me to get blasted back into the tube several times before I could progress with the level. The carrots in the coin maze were good, but the other carrots were much too close to the end. I can’t imagine how a player would make it that far, then require two more health to walk maybe 15 tiles right to the exit, even with the random enemies.

Overall: 4/10
The concept is good and the level itself could be worse. The majority of the problems come from a lack of experience making levels and the need of more beta-testing. Keep working at it, and you’ll make much cooler levels in the future.

Have you noticed this level has the most downloads on the whole page…? :)

Wow… The sequal got a bit dull… Mostly everything what n00b said… I’ll let you off with a 6 this time… Sorry… I really liked the first one, but this one is a bit short…

Nice touch on the Cheese of Doom, though.

Sorry for the late review. Next time, I am going to ENJOY that level! AND YOU BETTER MAKE IT ENJOYABLE! I know you can. I’ve seen it before.

i like it. its got eye candy…,yeah
its good
(Unsupported rating (1.5) removal. Most levels have eyecandy, to tell the truth, and this is hardly an adequate amount of reasoning for any rating… which brings me to the question of why you gave a 1.5 to an upload which you liked. ~Violet)

I’m the third downloader and first reviewer.
What we have here is the sequel to the wonderfully quirky Dreams of the Jackrabbit 1. It’s still quirky in dialouge, but the execution falls flat.
It starts off wonderfully, you must go ensure the safety of Dreamworld by grabbing the cheese of doom back from Bilsy(Maybe after an epic battle, those demon types ussualy are fond of epic battles). Outside are some fancy animations. Goombas look out windows and Bowser breathes harmless fire(He’s blocking blue meatballs you can use as ammo). Theres two passages you can take to get to the castle, one is more hidden than the other and is called ‘Bonus’. Both areas have their share of cool things. The bonus has the return of the firewalls, and the normal path has Jazz exchanging dialouge with a Tuf Turtle.
Either way you end up at Bilsy’s castle, where you fight bilsy in a cramped arena.
It’s shorter than the original, and not as fun. As I mentioned it has some of the quirkiness of the original but it doesn’t feel as fresh and fun anymore.
“Oh” you’ll say “Theres more of that Oddness from the first level” and then move on.
Download Reccomendation? Yes but you might want to consider if you werent a fan of the original. The reason why I am so fond of the first levrl was because it was short, didnt copy much from high rated packs, and therefor wasnt much of a pain to sit through. The second is shorter and therefore shouldnt consume too much of your time, and by the time you have decided you hate it the level will be over.
Final grade -5.6
It’s not as great as the first, but it’s still great if you enjoyed the first one.

It have original ideas!
The MARIO music extra good idea!

Bad Things:
Its ok it is one level but it can be longer, its to sort.Maybe you shoud create anathor level!

Last few words to you!:
Maybe you shoud browse a little, or create a continue! I know you able to do much better!;)
This level make me a good idea to create a Sonic titled level(Dont think I want to steal your idea)!
I learn some cool tricks from this level Thanks!:]

I’m afraid you’re not getting a 7 from me. I’ll let you know this immediantly.
When the two most memorable things are
A:The end
and
B: The frustrating difficult part before the end
Then I really don’t have much to work with. But then again, it’s still fun.
This is level is short, that means it’s not bad but it feels empty. Or maybe not empty, but like an example level for a tileset. While I don’t mind it’s charm, and quirky mindset (I had a dream, then converted it to a JJ2 level), there isn’t much to say when the interactivity is lacking. As always, theres a gimmick to keep you interested. In the Inferno 2:Hell’s Gate example level, that was find all the coins. Here, it was dodge fast flames and go deliver some ham.
Since everything before that was linear and ho-hum, this review is mainly going to focus on those 2 parts which literally make up the second half of the level. What I do remember from the first part is the otherwise stale eyecandy, but then again I had to consider the tileset which was at hand, and for the tileset the eyecasndy was fairly good. Now on to the gameplay. The first part has none. Trust me, it’s too bland. The first cool part(which is not a fond memory) is the reflex testing fire caves. But I do not like it when I am forced to Uppercut and then if I press left to late, I’m running into the flames I just passed by(This happened to me a few times) and in the end, You just rely on how far you can go with the short invinciblity you get from being hurt. The next cool part is pushing a crate over to a predetermined point. On a straight path. Devoid of obstacles. Why then, is this level so fun? Because of it’s quirky, mindless design. You get a 6.0, quality wise it’s not all there but somehow you made this level fun. Maybe it’s because its not as time consuming as other quality devoid levels, so all you are forced to remember the excellent parts.

Download Reccomendation? Heck yes, this level takes so little time to complete, it’s little quirkly mindless, linear gameplay will feel so incredibly awesome. And then afterwards, you’ll wonder why the heck you had fun playing it in the first place. Oh and it’s more fun to take the path that takes you to the Fire cave. Well if fun equals frustrating until you time yout invincibilty bursts right.
EDIT= 6.4=/=6.0

Starting Comments
Welcome to the fantastic world of JJ2! And, ofcourse, welcome to the even more fantastic world of JCS! Ok, the level.

Originality
This is an interesting idea! Jazz is having a dream! Haven’t seen lots of those before! :D

Creativity
First, nice job on the animations! I don’t seem to get those right… Ever… Anyway, there was a creative twist to the Devan Robot boss. You can’t attack his robot (hidden somewhere) but you must bring him a chest with ham! LOL! Once you brought him the chest, you get paid and can use the warp to the end of the level. :D

Music Choice
Just plain old Mario Music. :D It fits the tileset anyway, so it’s good.

Overall
It certainly not bad for a first level. Just basic, but fun! I’ll give you a 6.

Good thing
If you notice, there is a house near yours which says “Tuf turt’s place”. If you kill the turtle and come back later, it says “For sale”. LOL!!!!!
Bonus Points: 1.0
Bad thing
Work on extreme eyecandy. People LOVE extreme eyecandy.
Bonus Points: 0

Score:
7.0

Download Recommendation:
Yes. It’s fun.

Further Comment:
Can’t wait for the next level. 8D
