@Snowball: Okay now.
The review of it:
I think this is a pretty kewl tileset. You MUST use it once in your whole life i think.
There are everywhere lol Black Ninjas that are running, dying, flying, standing, shooting, or scribbling.
Not much to say, the eyecandy is oki-doki. Overall a pretty nice tileset and you must really use, download, this :)[This review has been edited by Taz]
I like the tile set!
so I give a 9
_
Rate the tileset, not the level.
Sorry all, Iāll go review the Tileset instead:
very cool Tileset, I dont see any missing tiles.
Overall an 8
and sorry again for the other review, can you forgive me?[This review has been edited by snowball]
A pretty good tileset. It has a nice example level, too. Iām lost for words, in this sudden spew of rapid reviewsā¦
Okay, well, i do find thisā¦interesting. āBloody Battleā is about 55*55 tiles small and uses Disguiseās nice little āDarkened Landscapeā tileset (which i have never seen until a minute ago, shame on me).
The design of the level is okay, nothing special. Kinda open with some nice gimmecks like springs, sucker tubes, good use of one-ways and even pinball events. The āelevatorā thing at the right is original, but doesnāt add a lot of gameplay in my opinion. Ammo placement is okay, very slightly above the average maybe.
Same with the eyecandy: nothing spectacular, the typical lack of foreground elements and some nice ideas in the background layers (really, the idea with the eyes is neat).
But the thing that annoys me most in this level is the background music: āDeserto Actionā by JSZ Jazz is not really the Scream Tracker hit of the month, it sounds more like a set of wild electric guitar and other samples. Sorry, not my style.
The value of this level derives solely from its originality. Itās worth a look because of some nice ideas, but not really something youāll like playing for hours. āBloody Battleā gets a high 6.5 from me (again, i tend to 6.5 instead of 7 because of all the overrating taking place).
And btw, i have no idea how people can rate this 8.7.
Above average and what else can I say exept d/l recc.
Tileset is looking simple (except the tuxture), but itās full of useful tiles and easy to use. I like it, even if it doesnāt look great, ācause for me it doesnāt matter how it looks (except v. bad looks).
The levels eyecandy is very cool, I like the blinking eye, its a good idea.
Also, Violet made some tricks with pinball, looks really cool too.
The weapon placement seens being okay for me too, the only thing that drags my rating down is āJSZ Jazzāās very special music, you have to have a hard music taste for like it, and I did diffinately not host it just becuse of the music, unless Iād shut my sound off.
Very spiffy. This tileset is comprised of many colored blocks (as it seems a heck of a lot of tilesets have been comprised of lately) which may not be the most original idea, but certainally works. This is sort of a spinoff of the early Cheq copycats, except more focused on color and less on pseuo-3D special effects. The backgrounds the tileset provides are all very nice, and I definitely think that this is a tileset that is worth using. If youāre a beginner to making levels, this is a great tileset to start with. Worth a download.
Nice level, I see the changes you made. BTW, thanks for using my music. __ (yes Taz, itās barfinā but it fits) These eyes in background are preety creepy! But what if somebody plays in lower resolution?
Moonblaze, itās Backgrounds. Not āBagrundsā.
The tileset is nice. All blocks come in Red, Green, Blue, Purple and White. The 3D tiles are nice, altough the āgradientā could have been a bit smoother. The blocks neither look very good.
All the basic stuff is there: poles, vines, hooks, blocks, text boards, hurts, tubes, arrows and some numbers (?). No animations in this set, but you can make some funky stuff that hurts your eyes by letting the blocks flash to another color. Wee. Good thing too, the textured background work in both 8 bit and 16 bit color.
The example level has an awful gameplay, but it shows how to use the set. Good job!
Nice tileset, but has not new thing.
5 tilesets, which can combinate.
low/medium/high/very high
Useable: high
Colors: medium
Size: high
Animation: medium (lot of low animations)
This perspective view kind of tileset has been tried before by many others. Including me (remember Meza?). Not everyone succeeded in it. But most atempts turned out pretty wel.
Iād consider this a pretty good atempt. The tileset is used amazingly well in the example level. However I think it is very hard to use.
Iād say itās worth the try.
Whew, Violet made such a block tileset, you can make blocks in lots of colors, as Violet noticed, you can also make up to 4 different texture bagrunds.
Thereās poles, sucker tubes, and all the basic. Thereās also doors, and numbers.
Overall, its a great tileset with lots of stuff, but the quality arenāt so high as Spazzymanās Paintworld3D.
Another crazy level of Purple Violet.
The first what i see, uh, hear is the barfinā music. It is ok with the level, but the music itself is very eeeeek.
The level rocks, you have a Climbable wall, what means that if you run and jump you can go up.
You see as background two eyes blinking. Iām not annoyed about the blinking things, only about the * smilies.
Itās really a lol level for Halloween, so download this. Nice job.
Boo! Yesh, i see it, you shock..
Wow. This level has a 10 without being reviewed. The ghosts must be out tonight. Thereās officially 2 hours left before my Halloween ends, but that doesnāt mean that Iām out of the spirit. I played this level on a server and I must say that I am impressed. I really thought the blinking parts would annoy me, but during normal play, they never did. Eyecandy was very good, and flow was not bad at all. I liked the background, and it fit the season well. A very nice work, and definitely worth a download recommendation. Nice job, Violet.
@Tublear: Ask Fishguise. Im sure he know it ;P
The review:
Make more things like this for us, Violet. You are pretty good in making JJ1 things. This is a another professional remake. The colors, are changed, okay, and thereās SSF now (Wow! Dishguise helped?), okay, but this just rule. Tile placement is very very very (Etc.) good.
Just download this.[This review has been edited by Taz]
I donāt think itās right to overrate conversions, these just arenāt your tilesā¦. So you really canāt get higher for this than a 6. Sorry. (Same critism that I got for my tilesets like CE)
Even though 6 is the max for me with 100% ripped tilesets, I still wanna look closely at it. I must say that youāve done a good job on converting this
ā- WARNING ā Rule Violation ā Baised review / rating nukedā[This review has been edited by ShadowGpW]
As you all may know, I usually give conversions an 8.7, but this uis different. I never actually noticed that the J1-Candion colors were messed up previous conversion sets, and that tiles were excluded. But Vio had decided to fix those errors and add cool extra stuffness. What is SSF?
I guess when I finally get all the JJ1 sets converted, I will begin making my ultimate level pack, the JJ1 files.
