Some suggestions/comments/bugs:

1) Created by BlurredD based on Neobeos code – How did I guess? ;P

2) Latest Controller 4.1 should work fine on jj2 while this program is active.

3) This program will only load when both the dll and exe are in the folder where jazz2.exe is located, not outside. Kind of annoying.

4) It refuses to load if the game is not running (main menu). Personally I’d make it wait until a game starts.

5) The death pits should have some delay on them. I was annoyed at how I insta-died right before I hit the pit with spaz where I could’ve easily doublejumped my way out.

6) I’m not sure how the gip script hiding works, but you should make it hide what I call “server query” packets (TCP packet with ID:0×0F and the last 9th byte set to 0 as for zero players joining – query packet)

7) I have seen this prog a number of times before, but I would have never guessed its name. GG.

8) If you can, try to fix the bug where server sometimes freezes for a few seconds where there are lots of players in the server and some are downloading.

More comments coming later. And this HTML/CSS are giving me a headache on reviewing.

Have you actually put Carrotade in the same folder as JJ2?

I’m also getting the same problem. I have both 1.23 and TSF but Carrotade can’t seem to find either of them.

Oh, thanks PJ7! :)

I have just tried it but I have no idea how to use it.

One think to be uptaded ASAP: Carrotade should also look for JJ2 from folder it is in, not just “C:/games/Jazz2”, ‘cause mines JJ2 is not there for example. This stops the whole program from functioning…

What? I’m in credits :D Great job on this, though, blur.

Forest should work just fine aswell, for that matter – I find it quite unlikely that the few CRT funtions it uses should be a matter anyway.

I can’t get this program to work, it says “Version of JJ2 not supported.” (I have 1.23)

There’s nothing about it in the readme.. :/

@cooba: Yes, ofcourse I have. :|

Lets’a go!

PALETTE EDITS
In this conversion of Diamondus, BlurredD has changed the colours on the soil to a sand/earth brown. The TB gradient has been changed to a much lighter shade of blue. The wood gradient has less green and has been darkened. The grass gradient has been changed to a darker green. This palette, gives Diamondus a much happier and calmer feel than before. It does hurt your eyes after a bit, seeing lots and LOTS of Brown.
There is also a night version. The soil has been changed to black/blue colour. The TB is now dark blue. The BG trees are now completly a lilac/blue colour. The wood is now a redish brown. The grass it now an olive/green colour. The wood in the night version is lighter than that of the day version, so doesn’t make much sense. However, most night versions of tilesets are too dark, but this is fine and would have no problems using this.
4/5

ADDITIONS
The additions are the main reason that this conversion got a high rating. There are some BG cave tiles, that look ugly in JCS, but in game they look amazing. BlurredD has extended the mountain BG by adding 2 extra water tiles, so that that the mountains can be extended as high as you want. These can also be used to extend the BG trees. And finally, the third and best addition was the waterfalls. They are just beautiful. The animation is clean and flawless. Even with just addition of the waterfalls alone, it would still be a good edit. Well done, BlurredD!
5/5

BUG FIXES
Quite a few of the bugs in Diamondus have been fixed. To start with, some of the famous mask bugs have been fixed. There are now some Vertical cave borders, but they don’t join to the diagonal borders very well. Another bug that has been fixed is the cave spikes, which now have their backgrounds updated. One bug which still exists in this tileset is tile 1,40, which is still too dark. If this was fixed and the vertical borders fitted to the diagonal borders perfectly, then this would of been a bug free tileset.
4/5

LAYOUT
The layout is exactly the same as in the original Diamondus. I won’t give marks for this, but it would of been better if you had made your own, improved layout.
N/A

GOOD POINTS
*The colours on the Day version look quite nice
*The night version isn’t too dark
*The Waterfalls…
*The spikes have had their BG’s updated

BAD POINTS
*The 1,40 hasn’t been fixed

VERDICT
This is another nice Tileset Conversion by BlurredD. There is still a bit of room for improvement, but it is still a great conversion.

FINAL SCORE

9.3

Download Recommendation!

EDIT – I’ve just noticed that you have fixed the cave tiling bug, so I will increase the rating by 0.2.

EDIT – And I’ve also noticed that the wood is lighter in the Day version, so you get an extra 0.1.

Excellent! you have got it. I like it
how you put skies in there.
Keep up the good work.

I give this a 8.7

[Unsupported (8.7) rating removal. You need to rate the tileset, not just the battle level, as this was a multiple upload that focused mainly on the tilesets (you may notice the author asked to have them rated). Just saying you like the skies in the battle level does not cut it. – FQuist]

Yes, it is great pack! There are much actions and killing and Survive! 90% of Levels are bulid using my fauvorite tilesets, and all of them are very playful. But Anti-Jazz system are not work too good. Then I play with 4-5 players, it’s frustring to start this fun! Many of levels are too simple, but have perfect decoration!

Better than OLD!
Congratulations Blur!!!
(Unsupported rating (9.7) removal. What makes these the best Survivors? Especially when, you know, you’re supposedly reviewing the whole pack. Can you explain why these are good? What impressed you about them? Why? ~Violet)
