Just when you thought that Blur is done with making Ground Force levels, he comes and kills wannabe “survivor” levels with survivor prefix. With 5 brand new outrageous levels. \\o/

Updates
All 30 levels use the new (and somewhat superior) Anti-Jazz system. This system is generally more safe than old one (the one using bridges tends to give Divide By Zero errors. Go figure.), and isn’t as complicated. Complicated as in, it’s far more user-friendly in JCS (I doubt I will use it, though). However, someone may not know how to wallclimb, so they are stuck in the Anti-Jazz filter room; while almost everyone should know how to sidekick with Spaz. Other than that, this system is easier to use than the older one (sometimes I kept being pushed into the bridge so I couldn’t even kick in). And we all know, that in multiplayer the easier, the better. ;p

The recent update on most of the levels is the feature, that if you are hit in air enough high, you lose. While it doesn’t really sound dangerous, be aware than it might happen with some lag and seekers. It never happened to me, but still, be aware.

Rants on originality
Most of the levels are a little more than your typical Ground Force level, as in, they’re just more original. The best example would be level 20 (Tower of Death) and 28 (Under Construction). They’re just like something you have never EVER seen before. In “Tower of Death” you must climb up an enormous tower or be hit by Laser Shield (shot out of apparently nowhere. Whee evil forces =D ) and fall down. “Under Construction” features a building made out of Speed Blocks and they have lots of Pepper Spray which destroys Speed Blocks as well. So, if you buttstomp – you are dead.

Those two levels are fine example of this pack’s overall originality, like I already said. While not every level is incredibly original and outstanding, the levels which are make up for it. Check out by yourself.

YaY for Eyecandy!!1 =D
Most of the levels are, simply, beatiful. The waiting rooms are perfectly decorated, yet eyecandy there isn’t overdone. Most of the levels have splendidly used layers, and outrageously designed walls. Everything tiles perfectly, no minor annoying bugs. The remains of destructable blocks are oftenly different than the blocks themselves. but they still manage to look great and whatnot. In levels using official tilesets, eyecandy is very original and isn’t what you’d expect from a level using those tilesets. (That doesn’t really apply to level 6, which is a little plain.)

However, not everything is pink and sweet and curly. (I said that MOST of the levels are great. Don’t blame me if you misread stuff.) Waste Drain (level 3) is just bland. Barely any noticable layer work at all, no real variety between block patterns, etc. The textured background, however, is original and isn’t what you’d expect from a typical Wasteland level. Also “Second Chances” is a little bland in the waiting rooms.

Evilness rux
The levels are hard. Hard as in, it’s difficult to survive in those, especially with a lot of people. This applies to latter six levels (25-30), because they are quite unique losing-wise. (But then, so are levels 8 and 18.) You can make barely any manouevers in “The Sludge Grounds” because warps are evily placed in the ceiling etc. Already mentioned “Under Construction” prevents you from buttstomping. In “Second Chances” walls become (like Blur called it) “evil” when a trigger crate is activated. Someone you fight with in “Avalanche Ranch” might have got an extra life so when he falls and you follow him, he warps back into the arena and thus wins. The reason why “Tower of Death” is evil should be obvious. (The SE version is even more evil, trust me.)

…yes. Truly pure Evil, with capital E.

Did I mess something? I mean miss.
That’s basically all I have to say. The overall score I’m giving it is a 9.5, no more, no less. No more, because some levels lack variety and eyecandy, no less, because of anything else.

Download it and be happy.

Hey! I’m the first who reviews this!

Now to the Pack:

I find out the Levels playing all 30 of them On-line.
When I joined the Server, It was first time i was playing these Ground Force ‘‘gaming mode’‘
Jazz2 Levels. At the Start I saw the 3
’‘Out-Game’‘ Areas at the Upper Left hand corner. You
start in a Area, wheres just a Morph Monitor for morphing to spaz. Than I have to do
Wallklimbing in the middle of this area. (And, yes, its also the first time I have done this.)
When you have done that, You get warped into the Area below the first, where you wait for
all the other Players, if they are in the 2nd Area, the Host Starts the Game by smashing
Trigger Crate, I think, and the both below the players in the 2nd Area Dissapeares, the
Players fall into a Warp wich warps them into the

’‘In-Game’‘ Area: Everything is Destructible there, and you have to Survive there,
before falling into the Warp, wichs down from you. But there can also be WArps, Left and Right
from you. In one Level, there was also a Warp from you.
When you fall into the Warp, you get into the
’‘Out’‘ Area. (You spinn around in a cube like placed Suckertubes. When everyone is
out, the Host can start the next game by entering the End-Game Area.

SHORT: GAMEPLAY IS GREAT!!!!

Playing these Levels was, no, IS so much fun, each of them is in its form different, an many ‘‘secret’‘
Events were used:
The TNT-Crate wich falls onto the Game Area, like a heavy Air Strike,
The Beam, wich destroys many Blocks at once.

There are great In-Game Areas!
On of them was a High Sky Scraper (I like this Area best)
And also used was the Icey Ground force Tileset.
There is a High Tower in a Hell set to climb up, befor the blocks below you get destroyed by a laser beam.
There is a 7th Lava Fall tileset using level with great eyecandy.
There are so much good levels in this

While Playing this BIG Ground Force Level pack online, it cames clearer and clearer
into my Mind:
The RESEARCH of things like this, New Gaming modes for Jazz Jackrabbit 2, Will keep the
fun in playing this Classic and Fun game and keep Alive the Jazz2Online Community for many time longer!!!!

This is Really amazing work!
I hope we gonna do these Ground force Online- Games some more times.
It was about 2 Hours and there was no minute it wasnt fun.
So jazzers out There! If you see such a ground force Server online- Come in!
you would be angry when missing that great new Jazz 2 Gaming Experience!!!

Download Recommendation? Are you Stupid? OF COURSE! DOWNLOAD IT NOW!
(I just mean, if you don’t download it here, you will download it wihle playing the levels
online, i think you cant get around that.

GO ON MAKING SUCH A GOOD WORK TO ALL OF YOU JAZZERS!!!!
FOREVER!!!!!!

Edit: I solved the Error by myself. Now the Rating is 10!

Good pack. But I got a problem – some levels crash, saying “level\tileset not found”. And some (for ex – survivor03) have access violation errors.

So, where can I get all the tilesets for this pack, except those that are already in there?

Whee. These are the best castle edits I’ve seen. Not only are the palette edits of the sets done well, but BlurredD has also added more tiles to the set (rain, ceiling slopes, A BACKROUND!!! etc) which makes it better to use for levels. Castle 2 and castle 2 Night look a bit similar with each other, and my favorite has to be Castle 2 Eclipse because I just love the colors in it. Hopefully people will use these instead of the overused original castle sets in the future. Rating comes down to an 8.5. Good palette edits, extra added tiles, etc. I still prefer your diamondus edit and your psych edit over this, but this is a must download nonetheless. Keep up the great edits!

This is probably the best tileset i have ever seen. IT RULES, JUST LIKE WINDSTORM FORTRESS! Well BlurredD is an extrememly good designer so i will review this tileset as an addition to his extremely good uploads! Here is review: Eyecandy Possibilities: My rating: 10.0 Comments: The tiles that can be put in the background look extremely nice. After seeing E-prime, I had to review this. The tiles are great seeing as they are hi-tech and really decorative! There are sucker-tubes and pipes that look really cool and again this tileset has things for each layer like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8. My comment is that this ruels like hell! Animations: My rating: 10.0 Comments: My comments are that the animations are really cool. Like in E-prime for example, the red and black animations look great. The flashing in the background you can make is excellent. Also the fans look really cool. Masking: My rating: 10.0 Comments: The masking rules and it isn’t confusting and all the tiles in this set fit together really nicely and there are no masking bugs. Again it rules. Usability: My Rating: 10.0 Comments: This tileset is really fun to use and is extremely resourceful. It has every tile you need for making a good level and this tileset is extremely good. Overall: My average rating: 10.0 Download Recomendation: Really high, you would be stupid not to download it. Build with: YES!!!

This pack rules! Has basically all the original ideas of ground force! The best level i think is Tower of Death, it rules. Nearly all the levels have good eyecandy. And especially good gameplay. And good placement. The design is extremely good. And so are the ideas. This pack has a few original ideas mising but it is good enough for me, this is probably the one of the best things from J2O. Ill finish the review later.

Well, since i was bored, and there was nothing to do, i decided to review this pack, and give it a long, long review. and i really mean long. i woudln’t be surprised if this review is my longest one. well, let me continue.

REVIEW of the Lost gemz, Volume II: Survivor:
Welcome to my review of this fantastic ground force pack by BlurredD, which is my favorite ground force, or survivor pack ever. all levels are really good, they have nice backgrounds, ( which isn’t really needed in ground force levels though. ) and very nice gameplay, and ammo placement. i like this pack alot, and thats probably why my review is so long. i don’t have more comments, but let me welcome you to my REAL REVIEW OF THIS PACK =)))
maybe ill update this review later, incase if i forgot to mention something..

Thermal scorch: Thermal scorch is very good level and it uses excellent 7th lava fall tileset by Dethman. in my opinion, tileset use was great, and there’s no tilebugs, and tile placement looks awesome. i can see 2 different lavafalls on the background, other one is big. ( 2 tiles wide ) and the other one is quite small. ( 1 tile )
There’s more background eyecandy too, like a steelish x-like things on the layer 6. i like the gameplay in this level. this level is very big, ( height )
and you start from the bottom. there’s lots of destructable tiles, all of them use tile number 59, ( im not sure if im right here ) Which looks quite dull. level would use different kind of destructive tiles. it would look better. i have no complaiments about ammo placement either. its very nice in my opinion. music fits to the level fine too.

System clogged: Yay, more cool-looking levels. System clogged uses mez’s MEZ03/04 tileset. (im not sure which)
and the tileset is overused, but author used it nicely in my opinion. background layers look nice, and no complaiments about them. ammo (mostly TNT) is placed nicely around the level, and i have no complaiments. 1337 placement. Gameplay is nice too. level is very big, i don’t know how much it takes to beat it, but my guess would be around 3-2 minutes. destructive tiles doesn’t look dull here, since you used some blue-uhm.. bubble like tile, which looks very good with silver metal blocks. music (Dh-glctc.s3m) fits nicely IMO.

Waste drain: i don’t have the tileset, or then i have the wrong version of the tileset. i got an access violation, so i can’t rate this level.

Heaven sent: Heaven sent uses agama’s outstanding Heaven tileset, which is used nicely in this level. i like the color where the background fades into. it gives a good atmosphere to this level. Destructable tiles won’t look dull, because author used ground tiles of heaven tileset. instead of dull look, they look really nice, (sorry for my bad grammar)and i really can’t find complaiments about this level. gameplay is nice too, this level isn’t too big or too small. good job, BlurredD. Ammo is placed nicely too, and i like the placement alot. no more comments / complaiments.

[Ill finish this review later, i promise. i must go now. ]

OMG, don’t suck up to him, what would u guys rate the original JJ2 diamondus then if this was over 8? oh well, heres the review:

Ok, i agree with Blurred, they are quite pointless, but the upsidedown diamondus is funny (you should make more tilesets upsidedown)! Well, there were a few palette edits which doesnt particularly look too much better, it is a bit better though. New tiles i think (=P)! the upsidedown diamondus battlezone is really cool, but it is quite hard to get up to top (or bottom in orginal version) without using the warps at the side, but if u use them, the lvl is great! i dont think there are any masking bugs (or maybe i never saw them =P)! i love the way that the pinball bump 500 doesnt look bugged up or anything ! But still these are pointless edits, though they are good, i would rate the original JJ2 diamondus at a 6.5, but i really prefer JJ1 diamondus which i would give a 7. these edits make the actual original tileset better and these are some of the best edits ive ever seen, all these versions get 7.2 from me![This review has been edited by sabaspaz]

Yay, another tileset realase by BlurredD. lets review.

Well.. this pack comes with four cool diamondus edits, proably the best edits
ive ever seen. there’s upside down versions too, which are evil to build with. ;p
i really love palettes too, color combinations are really cool looking. and tiles you added. waterfalls for example, are very nice. i think ill make a level with this set, but now let me continue, if you thought this was my whole review, you’re wrong. this was the intro. oh well..

Diamond dust 01/upside down edit:
COLORS: Pretty nice.. i love them. colors aren’t boring. in other words, there’s many colors. blue, white.. light blue, orange, green.. and other neat colors. my favorite palette edit. gives noon atmosphere, and its probably very nice to build with.

CONCLUSION:Really nice.

Diamond dust02/F version:
COLORS:Well.. i dissapointed. colors are usually blue… and dark. mostly beetween black and blue. grass looks neat though, and levels using this set will probably have a nice night atmosphere. well.. colors could be better. but they’re still nice. or something.
DD 02/F – DD 01/F
TILES ADDED:You added some more tiles, like waterfalls, some caves [ which can be used for a background ]
water.. for trees.. and some other tiles. 1337.

OVERALL:Really neat edits. im thinking to make a level with these tilesets.. my rating is 8.5

Whee. BlurredD has done it once again.

1 sudnomaiD
An upside down version of Diamondus. With added waterfalls and some backround eyecandy. 2 sudnomaiD is basically the same, except the night version of Diamondus. Nothing really spectacular here or anything, and I doubt people would use these too often.

Diamond Dust 01
I really like this, the copperish ground looks so good in this tileset and has a nice, warm look, and the colors are nice and bright. The waterfalls are fairly easy to use (just animate them in the clockwise order that you see them in the tileset) and there is some backround eyecandy as well. More tiles could’ve been added, but its alright right now.

Diamond Dust 01 F
Basically an upside down version of Diamond Dust 01.

Diamond Dust 02
I really like this one, it gives Diamondus a nice darkish feel, and the waterfalls are there too so you can make nice, beautiful(sp?) landscapes with this set, as demostrated in Starlight falls II.

Diamond Dust 02 F
Upside down version of Diamond Dust 02. Whee.

Technical Requirements: Water looks pretty good in them (even in 8bit), Psych Pole works, Jungle Pole looks a bit weird but works, Carrotus Pole works, pinball 500 bumps work really nicely, Carrot bumps look O.k. in the diamond dust 01, but not so good in diamond dust 02, and the pinball pads work good. Snow looks strangely green in diamondus dust 01, but look pretty good in the 02 version.

Final rating:
Diamond Dust 01: 8.5
Diamond Dust 02: 9.2
Technical Requirements: 8
+0.5 for the upside down versions
=9.066666666666666666667 (or similar)
Rounded down to 9.

The conversions look really nice and are very well done, but next time more extra tiles could’ve been added. Most things like poles and pinball objects work, but some look a bit buggy. Otherwise this is an excellent peice of work, and a download reccomended. Keep it up! =P

Ehm, guys? Quit sucking up to him already! Don’t mind me, but I just think you’re overrating them just a little bit :D. Time for me to do something about it.

BlurrED has becoming famous his palette edits of offical JJ2 sets. First Castle (with added sky and rain) to Psych. This time he’s taken on Diamondus, everybody’s favourite tileset, because it is just so easy to use (and therefor overused to a golden crisp)! For this review, I’ll point out the differences and things added in each set. Ready? Here we go :P

1 sudnomaiD
Nothing more than Diamondus 1 spelled backwards. This is probably the weirdest thing ever done to a tileset: turning it upsidedown. As mentioned before, this has been done before (EvilMike if I’M not mistaking). Overall it just looks weird. There’s a downside to this however: the Diamondus Pole event virtually becomes useless here. Masking is ok.

2 sudnomaiD
Night version, enough said.

————————————————————

Diamond Dust 01
The main attraction of the pack. BlurrED wasn’t kidding when he said the palette edit was pretty lazy: the most significant change is the blue ground turning to a copper color! The rest just changed shades or not at all (unlikely :P). Of course he put in some extra tiles (which you can find in the flipped sets as well): a waterfall, JJ1 style and sized down background walls. While that may look nice, there’s hardly any interaction possible with the rest of the tiles. At best you can use the downsized wall tiles in layer 4, but that’s it. You’d have to use layer 5 to 8 for the waterfalls and walls, which is a shame. The order of the water tiles is hard to figure out. Masking is fine tho, no problems.

Diamondus Dust 01F
Upsidedown version, similar to 1 sudnomaiD. Same palette, same extras, same story.

Diamondus Dust 02
I consider this the night version of Diamond Dust, here’s where more changes come looking. Everything’s pretty dark (with the exception of the gems in the ground, which makes a nice contrast). The ground is a very dark blue-grey, while the grass and leaves are a dirty greenish-brown. The rest turned to a darker shade of their original colors.

Diamondus Dust 02F
Just for the heck of it: upsidedown version of Diamond Dust 02.

Example levels
In a shamefull move, BlurrED modified Offical CTF levels (Diamondus Warzone flag bug fix, obvious choice). Thing is, the level is flipped for the flipped sets. Pretty weird experience.

BlurrED did make 2 example levels, but only the battle level, StarLight Falls, show what you really can do with the modifications. But why only Diamond Dust 02?

Verdict:
Pretty good conversions, but I doubt anyone would wanna use them, since Diamondus is so overused. Recommended for the conversion collector :P

I may be late, but Happy Birthday anyway. My review is coming up.
Introduction: This is a tileset created by BlurredD, and I heard him talking about this tileset somewhere.
Eye candy/animations: this tileset is full of eye candy. There is alot of stuff in it. There are alot of that brown tiles or however it is called. The tileset has alot of animations in it. I saw that in the example level. This tileset has more than one sort of platform to run on. This is a good thing, because it will be boring if there is one. That’s why the tileset is quite big.
Easy to use: This tileset is not like Blade’s first tilesets, but also not like Agama’s. I think this tileset is not too easy to use, but also not too hard. I think it’s quite hard to make no bugs in your levels with this tileset, but I think you don’t have too many problems with that if you are good in level creating.
Size: This tileset has 940 tiles, and that’s quite big. This means it’s not too easy to use it very good, but you can use some parts of it and if you are planning to make more levels with it, use other parts of it.
Build with this: Yes, you should build with this if you are bored and can’t find a tileset to make a level with. If you are not good in creating levels, you should try an easy tileset first. But you will probably become better and after some time, you can use this tileset too.
Do I build with this: Maybe, if I am bored from some tilesets.
Others: I recommend you to build Multiplayer levels with this tileset, like BlurredD already said in the description of this tileset.
Conclusion: This is a nice tileset created by BlurredD. Download recommendation: if you are good in JCS and just want to use new tilesets for your levels. No download recommendation: If you hate tilesets or creating levels.
My final rating: 9.0.

First off, happy birthday.

The tileset is very pleasing to look at. There are some cool tiles you casn use to make effects like lightning, which can add a lot to the feel of a level using the set. But best of all, the set is farily easy to use. It’s pretty easy to find the tiles you’re looking for, and so far I haven’t found any tiles that seem to clash or mismatch at all.

THE GOOD:
Looks nice, great animations.

THE BAD:
Inexperienced level makers may have trouble using it properly.

THE UGLY:
I can’t really find anything “UGLY” about this set, except that I strongly feel it needs to have Fooruman in it.
