rateing 6/10
Though I haven’t downloaded this and previewed it, shouldn’t this be in the picture/sound gallery? If this is a song for jj2, then uh… well .wav doesn’t work >_>
The mod may be considered CTFDOM. [More like Bank Robbery as people are telling you… ~Cooba]
By the way you have permition to add weapons or pickups to the level. Please do not change anything else unless you’ll improve it. Thanks
Oh, yeah, I almost forgot.
The weapons Respawn a little Too Quickly
(that might make it a bit campy.)
[Useless edit from the author – review changed to quick review.]
Well thats a relief. I thought people would mind about the symmetrical bases.
Wow! A Battleships level! You don’t see that every day.
EYECANDY
Good, nothing special. The whole level is very symmetrical, except some things like the suckertube at the left side of the level.
GAMEPLAY
You don’t need to run at the whole level, the bases are on the down side of the level, blue on left and red on right. It doesn’t make sense.
WEAPONS
Bouncers and Seekers. Don’t use Bouncers in an open level, they are affected by gravity (what gravity?). The crates are placed in a line. I’ve heard that crates cause lag. Don’t use only two types of the weapons, use all if you can.
MUSIC
Well, it’s good. It fits the level, I think.
SIZE
Small, 10-15 players max.
TILESET
Jazz 1 Battleships v1 by >CelL<. You should use version 2. It has more animations and tiles, and a better palette.
Final rating: 4.0
Download recommendation: Hmmm…
Comments: Try to make a larger and better level with more ammo types. Don’t make symmetrical levels.
What the hell is this? I’m sorry, we’re not supposed to be negative. But seriously, what the hell is this. By “this”, I am reffering to the remix name. Perhaps you wanted to achieve the greatest misnomer in remix history, in which case you succeded.
One does not simply make the music horribly loud, toss in something resembling an electric gutair and remove the iconic voice that made the original so damn awesome and call it “improved”.
The great boss music get’s its life sucked out of it by this remix. It’s that terrible. It nearly made me want to hate the original music for all eternity.
And whats up with the drums? The drums force the lead gutair (which is what does the actual song) into the backseat they’re that loud.
Even worse somewhere after the 30 second mark for about 10 seconds the song slows down nearly grinding to a halt.
Don’t get me started on having to turn the volume down from a suitable 100 (to which I listened to Eggman’s remix yesterday) to an 8. That was the maximum volume to could be without pounding my ears. And I was wearing normal style headphones. It’s nightmarish to think how it would have been listening to this at 100 unknowingly, while wearing earbuds.
Download recommendation?
No, instead I recommend hitting the back button and never return to this page ever again. Especially when theres a truly improved boss remix here
done by Lark. It does everything this remix tries to do but with one twist- Lark’s remake is highly superior and sounds great.
The JJ1 boss tune turned into…..well….lets just start the review.
Good points….well….the song does sound a bit better with the new sounds. The bass has improved and the guitar sounds more real.
Bad points. Nothing has changed about the song. The arrangement is the same. The tune and the bass is the same. This is just a sample change and nothing more. And though sounding a bit more energised, I feel that the drums is a lot quieter and inexpressive than it should be.
GOOD POINTS:
Improved bass
Guitar sounds more real
BAD POINTS:
Nothing changed
Inexpressive drums
RATING: 3.4
RANK: 3 Very Bad
DOWNLOAD: No
EDIT: Infact, all samples were inexpressive.
It’s OK, I like loud music :)
I would like to hear more like these. Maybe they aren’t music for masses, but I like them.
[Rating (8.0) clearance. There was no support given for the rating. ~Cooba]
Oh my god. You have the nerve to call this “improved”? First of all, there is absolutely NO arrangement done. Second, you replaced all the original samples with inferior, bad-sounding, and mostly LOUD samples.
I am aware that extremely negative reviews are discouraged, but at least I’m telling you why it sucks. No download recommendation. Eurgh.
Rating JJ1 Boss (Flstudio remix)
To start:
This music is absolutely not worth it.
JJ1 Boss Remix:
It is well hear that this music was concerning JJ1-end boss. In spite of that: in the beginning it does not seem that it Jazz Jackrabbit related is, it nevertheless proved be the case.
Shortcomings:
However this music has a lot shortcomings. For example: he is not in Modplug Player, what very annoying is if you want use him in your own level. Moreover music does cause some pain to your ears.
Conclusion:
The music is reasonable, but because it is not in ModPlug Player and it can cause hurting ears this is no DL.
Mark: 4½
Download recommendation:
as you can see, odin understands this a lot. especially when evil hare said he made it in flstudio. but what can we do :o
Wait, why the hell did you make it an MP3? Modules are much, much smaller in comparison, unless your samples were unnecessarily huge.
EDIT: Music modules (shortened to modules here) are the proper name for .mod, .xm, .it, and .s3m files, as well as the great many other module files out there. I assume you are using a module tracking program for the remix. Next time, upload your remixes in module format, they’re much smaller. Trust me.
I don’t know how to rate music. But here are some points:
1. The music is quite loud but that’s not too much to worry about.
2. I think this was a great idea remixing the boss music. Too bad you can’t use it on JJ1 coz it’s an MP3 file.
The song may be loud. Also i wish that i could make it a modplug version but it is a lot harder than what i did use.
By the way on the prog i used each second is 10 kb. I made it mp3 because that took less space than the others.
Module? How do you use that?
GOOD POINTS
eya candy is very good.
I like the cage thing it makes it look like it relly goes up.
bad points
the level is very small.
ammo placement isn’t to good.
if u played this online it would be a very fast game.‘too fast’
hints
make your level longer.
think more cafully were to place the ammo.
conclusion
relly this level would be great if it was longer, you have everything there, good eyecandy, just make it longer and better ammo placement, and im sure this will get a high rateing.
U have the honor being reviewed by my 50th review.
Eyecandy:
Very good it also has a kind of snow and that door passage is very nice made.
Gameplay
This isn’t good.
At first you have to play this in CTF which means with 2 or more players.
Second you can get stuck wen you fall after the 4th or 5th cage.
Third it is a way too small level.
Fourth it is way too easy, it is just walking through braking some cages.
And finnaly wen you’re done your base gets one point and you’re stuck on your base and the level doesn’t end and also you can’t do it over to get another point which will be very boring while playing with multiple players.
Placement:
Normal, maybe a bit too few weapons placed.
Size:
2 words: TOO SMALL
Eyecandy: 8.5
Gameplay: 3
Placement:6
Size: 2.5
FINAL GRADE: 5
PS: I know you can do better try to make your levels longer and make them more challenging
Im better at making single player but not really good at multiplayer levels.
