I’ve played this millions of times in jDC events and its one of my favorite races. Lets start the review (Which will hopefully be a long one):
Layout: Beginning might be a bit too crowded (with the springs on the walls) and there is a masking error (which isnt your fault), but I never minded it much. Sucker tube things are interesting, except at the end of the 2nd one where it juts you out from above, someeone could camp underneath and keep shooting you and keep you trapped in the sucker tube. This happend before (with some face kept shooting us and not letting us get out of the tube until like 5 people piled up there). And its no fun being trapped D=. The next two parts after that (climbing and falling) are some of my favorite in the level. Narrow passage with a spring (evil spring) after that, with running across belts soon after. Then some nice peaceful running, and then shooting destruct blocks to climb up (annoying getting stuck in those D=). Despite this having several flaws (some of which should’ve been put into consideration and fixed before this was uploaded, like the getting stuck in destruct blocks and sucker tube thing) this level is really fun to play online with lots of people..
Eyecandy: BG is original and cool, foreground/layer 4 is mostly average. I dont really mind eyecandy in race levels as long as its tolerable because I dont get many chances to stroll through and look at it closely, but more eyecandy here could’ve been welcome (although its good the way it is and probably was really good back then). On another note, I like the eyecandy in the parts especially after the vine/belt thing, with those metal tiles bordering the purple ground tiles. That part always looked cool.
Placement of Stuff: Lots of evil sucker tubes and springs, a few very evil belts and vines which I rather dislike. More ammo would’ve been especially welcome. Its rather too empty, though I never minded it much.
Originality: Its an old level, so I cant really say. N/A in this category for now, although the backround is still pretty original.
Overall (not an average): One of my favorite race levels, old, fun, lacks a few stuff, minor flaws, download not working anymore so I cant get the music, etc etc. This level grew on me, and I like it. No matter how much layout bugs it needs fixing/eyecandy needs adding.
Rating time:
Layout/Gameplay: 8
Eyecandy: 7.5
Placement of Stuff: 7
Originality: N/a
Overall (not an average): 8.6
Final Rating: 7.775, which I’ll upgrade to 8 because I like this level 8D. Download reccomendation.

Nothing special sneeze
nose blowing Aiko. I colect tilesets.
Does that make me a freak?!!
caugh
Sorry. Im just sick.
This is a level that is, quite frankly, completely defeated by poor navigation. The level’s eyecandy is fine, except for the previously mentioned blocky background, but Jazz users will hate this level. Personally, I think that this is a good thing, but my annoying Jazz-using friends will kill me if I rate judging on that. It’s mainly because it requires uppercut, a fairly slow move that leaves the user vulnerable to attack from the significantly more nimble Spaz. Otherwise, the level is great. Download recommendation? Sure. If you’re a Spaz user, that is.
Not bad, but I’m in too much of a Halloween mood to give a rating. ;-P
An interesting level pack. It’s very good. However, some of the levels vary in quality. EvilMike’s level is very good, as is Disguise’s. However, FQuist’s level, while it is great in gameplay, it lacks enough eyecandy. Great overall, though. Download recommendation.
Download this or you’ll get banned. ;D
Seriously, this is sort of good. Download recc.
This is a good tileset chock full of blocks (har har, that rhymes). For the tileset collector, download this! It may be rare some day.
A pretty good conversion of one of the most popular standard CTF levels. Get this, ‘n host it when the holiday seasens are upon us:D
Nice idea to convert, butt the bases could be nicer.
A 7 for your trouble (huh?).
Not that there’s a chance anyone will read this but I thought I’d review this, since I forgot when downloading.
The file contains two tilesets and only two tilesets, nothing more which is very bad. No readme or example level that is…
The set itself looks like a paint-made one to me. I don’t really like the thing…. They just don’t have what it takes…
So it will get a 6.
Well, “Dungeon Dreams” has a nice alliteration in its name, uses a relatively underused tileset and has a good layout (i like the idea of not having a carrot in the level). Unfortunately, the massive lack of eyecandy is way too obvious. The weapon and powerup placement is appropiate but my overall impression of this level is that it’s a tad too empty in most areas. Pretty dull, if you ask me seriously.
Otherwise, i really don’t have much to say here. It’s a solid above-the-average battle level, no more, no less (a good download for all you fellow battle freaks, i guess!).
Nice, not big lvl. The tiles in the lvl seem to be almost all blocked, what is not really wrong but I think it makes it a bit more boring. The music is just about normall, cant say much about it. The background is used well in this lvl, especially for small lvls I like it with walls in the background. Eyecandy isnt great but overall the lvl seems nice to me.
This level could have been made a lot better. The layout is fine, and the level isn’t ugly, but the layout and eyecandy aren’t great either. Some areas could have used sloped tiles (I don’t think there was a single one in this level :( ) and could have used some springs here and there. The tileset was used properly which is good, but the graphics are rather dull and monotonus. Every part looks pretty much the same. It is also fairly easy to move downwards through the level, but not easy to go upwards. I am not sure if that is intended or not, but I think it would be a bit more fun to move around the level easier.
To improve this level, I sugest throwing in some animated torches, use more background and foreground layers, some cracks in the walls, and more springs.
These are just a bunch of blocks
noffing special if u ask me.
A nice easter tileset with a lill’ chicken animation…not bad…but well, it looks kinda primitive though.
There is no example level included and thats why i cant give a higher rating. But i think it was a lot of hard work to put this together so all tileset collectors should really download this!
(P.S.: the second set in the archive isnt worth extracting, sorry :-)
A very good J2LC pack of nine quality levels both Battle and CTF. Actually it got 8 points from me because of Disguise’s levels.
I just love his design style as you may have noticed :-)
Besides, i think its a good idea to form a team of level makers and release some levels as a pack.
Of course, i wont forget to mention the other authors: EvilMike’s levels are quite good (but i dont like the design as much as in Disguise’s levels) and Fquist’s CTF level just needs some more eyecandy.
Everything else is fine :-)
Nice old tileset, very colored. Not much too say. Its a pity that there’s no example level.
Well, if you’re a tileset freak/collector you might want to download this.
A very decent CTF level, which could also make a good battle. Design and eyecandy are better than the average and look very nice.
Unfortunately, the author forgot to stuff the HH98 tilesets and music in the pack. The next level setting is also wrong.
In spite of all that, i recommend to download this for the upcoming winter season :-)
