A small note, Mezās Mez04 tileset is also 9 tiles. It was released as a gimmick years ago, and was quite high in quality.

I have temporarily disabled the download until Sucer and Jerry have come to terms about this download. However, a few points:
1. One does not need to credit tilesets on j2o.
2. Itās the tileset creatorās own responsibility to not leak betas ā there are no grounds for objection if someone decides to actually use the tileset you provided them with.
3. You do not need the authorās permission to use tilesets on J2O. Authors should not distribute tilesets they wouldnāt want to be used.
I hope Sucer and Jerry can come to terms on this issue. Iām making an exception here since Jerry alleges to have asked Sucer not to use his tileset. However, if Jerry does not release his tileset soon, Iām not going to do any more edits or disallow this download because Jerry leaked his own tileset.
Uh axe, thatās cool to say but you might want to consider uploading the actual level too, you forgot that :P
I canāt rate this music any higher as long as half is out of tune. Your production skills have vastly improved since last time, but your musical skills seem to have not. I have said this a few more times before to you, let your music be checked by someone with musical education before uploading it. It really helps. Or read some things on music theory. Having your music in tune is one of the basic things you have to have in your music. Music can be really bad (not talking about yours), but if itās in tune people will tolerate it. Itās the basis of how music and sound work. Harmony. But this just hurts the ears, while the production of the song is so good! Why are you wasting it with the out of tune parts? It has a really nice start, and it really has potential to be quite good, but sadly, half of it is just really really bad.
I also canāt see why people keep rating this so high.
A download recommendation.
BoredSet is quite a small tileset compared to Disguiseās other tilesets, especially compared to his huge Metropolis set.
Still, it is in my opinion one of the best tilesets Disguise has created. The style is different from his other tilesets, which is a breath of fresh air. Not that his other tilesets are not very good, mind you, but itās still very nice. The big improvement the tileset looks much more organic than some of Disguiseās other sets. This makes levels look much more detailed and..organic.
There are enough tile types and eyecandy tiles to make a nicely detailed level with, and as is most of the time the case with tilesets by Disguise is that thereās enough things to work with in the background. Thereās also all the special tiles youāll need. Destruction blocks (as always with this author not copied from the official tilesets but home-made), vines, poles, signs and hooks ā itās all there. And the layer 8 background is quite pretty.
The example levels, the BoredSetCTFs and Grass Hill Citadel, made by BlurredD, show well how the tileset can be used and also how much you can do with it, since the biggest part of the tileset (the earth tiles) was not used in the BoredSetCTFs, and yet theyāre still good, and very different from the battle level Grass Hill Citadel.
A few of the things up for improvement:
ā The trees donāt look right. The leaves could have been much more convincing, now they look too much like spikes.
ā If there had been more normal grass tiles (two for example), instead of just one, levels using this set would have looked much better. Still, itās not that bad, since the grass tiles are very good and using just one grass tile doesnāt make the level look dull, because the tile tiles very well. But some variation would have been great. Even a few tiles that had the same shape but had small vegetation on them would have improved a lot.
ā Some tile connections lack from the tileset, like a brick-grass connection, and connections between normal grass tiles (without dark background), and dark backgrounds (meaning: only part or half of the grass tile having a dark background, unlike the other part/half.). This means youāll have to use layer 5 if you want to use connections like the ones mentioned, which very often you will want with the second.
ā A tile to make rain with could have been usable. I donāt know why it was left out, since itās in most of Disguiseās other tilesets.
But the tileset is good enough to overcome these flaws. To conclude: This is one of the Wiseyās best tilesets, even if it has a few flaws.
And now we will hope Disguise will make another one. ;-)

Please do not upload the updates seperately.[This review has been edited by Fquist]
Could you instead re-upload this to the other version? That way people donāt have to review twice.
Iām sorry, DaPete, but we only allow finished levels on our site. Betas are not allowed. And please try to be a little nice to the reviewers, they are giving you advice after all, for free.[This review has been edited by FQuist]
The palace part could have been better. I donāt like the white ground. It looks like the old titanic/ship tileset. The curtains arenāt that good either. They should have been shaded more and better.
The desert ground texture could have used more variation but the desert tiles are quite good otherwise. The water is fine.
The white buildings in the background donāt look very good. The sucker tubes could have been more original.
The usability of the tileset is fine, and there are enough little eyecandy details you can add. The fire is great.
Next time wait for BTFH to betatest. ;-)
Sorry, Jazz2Online is not the place for such things. Try the JCF.

I donāt see very much change from the original, only the instruments were changed. The instruments donāt mix, and because of that the tune is out of tune and doesnāt sound right. It lacks reverb too.[This review has been edited by FQuist]
Iām sorry. This is not that good at all. The different tracks donāt mix at all, there are things out of tune, the tempo isnāt right.. I suggest you practice some more before uploading anything. You need to try making the tempo right and making an interesting melody.
Please re-upload to the original file instead.

I am away from jj2 but want to comment to this any ways.
We hold no grudge against CC. But the user Black Energy was given low status because of account abuse, and thus should not review at all. Same with ShadowXR.
If we see a level with an average rating between the 5.2 and 5.5 we do suspect something is wrong when a friend of Craccoboy suddenly gives a 9.2 review. As the rules say: ā2. Rating levels obviously unfair(give a level with an average rating of 2, a 10, or one with an average rating of 10, a 2, or something like that. (try not to rate your own friendās levels in a biased way)ā.
I have said this a lot of times, but I am NOT biased towards GPW or any clan. If you want to know why Black Energy was banned, just PM me.
Craccoboy, I donāt think your argument about Disguiseās tilesets is right. The situation is not comparable. Disguiseās files generally get high ratings. When we suddenly see friends of Disguise rating his levels high, while all other non-friends rate his tilesets high too, why should we suspect something? If everyone gave one of his tilesets a 5 and a friend suddenly rated it 10 we would remove that review just as well. You see, everyone holds different opinions. Some rate less strict then others. Because of this, different people rate levels differently. One rates it 7, the other 8. This is only a small margin, however. We simply donāt trust differences of 5 points. Such a difference has nothing to do with oneās own āopinionā. If you truly rate things for their eyecandy and gameplay, or whatever factors, you canāt have such huge differences in the ratings, because while one may dislike the level for the gameplay and another one might like the gameplay, even someone who dislikes the gameplay will see that it has quality, even though itās not his style.(Compare it with music. You may not like the classic rock genre, but itās still good, itās just not your style). This is called objectivity. If everyone rates objectively(and there is a lack of people who do that) you wonāt have 5 point differences. Or are you accusing Disguise and Flash of being biased against you? ;p
[āā-EDITāā-]
No, Craccoboy, you canāt be held responsible for Bolt and ShadowXR. Itās simply so that as they were banned they werenāt allowed to review.
And itās the high raterās side against the low raterās side. The difference between the sides was that the people who rated high were your friends. Friends generally are a whee more biased. I have reason to think Flash and Disguise arenāt biased. I have enough reason to think the two banned persons who have a history of biased ratings were biased. And Jackass, suddenly started to review, starting with the level of his friend. This does not help make his case more believable, still, maybe his review shouldnāt have been deleted. The reviews of the two banned persons would have been deleted even if they had given one of Shadowās levels a good rating.
I am sorry that I thought the 5.x reviews were earlier then the biased ones. I still think that it was just to delete the reviews for the reasons I mention here.
I am also sorry that we made the rating of your level go lower, but thatās just how we work. Letās see if the next people who rate this level (unbiased) will make the rating go higher.[This review has been edited by FQuist]
