Another great Skulgeh tileset. The background is especially nice. And, while small, this tileset makes up for it in nearly everything else. A definite recommended download from me.
The link appears to be broken no longer.
I’ve seen this in it’s early stages (accidentally) and it’s not my favorite level. The level is well-made, but there isn’t really a point to gameplay. I won’t rate it until I can play the level in more depth. Really one of the downfalls is that the system can bug occationally, and I can’t tell who won. However, it’s still a good gametype that I hope to see more of in the future.
EDIT: I should have clarified that it’s hard to tell who won sometimes. It’s a good level, but the gameplay isn’t my favorite.
EDIT 2: Gameplay as in the game type, not how the level plays.[This review has been edited by Trafton AT]
Stiletto, that rating is not fair, and you did not provide a reason why.
This level is pretty good, but some aspects of gameplay are missing. The warps are very nice, and the sky looks good, but ammo placement can be a little weak at some times. All in all, a very good level that should be downloaded immediately, but be warned that it has it’s quarks.
I’ve played this level online, and I must say that I love the new gametype. The only bad part of it is, as you will figure out as you play, the people who go out last in the first round are very much disadvantaged to those who go out first. So, being the player who doesn’t go out is obviously best, but being the player who goes out first is better than the one who goes out second to last. The many options, which are reperesented using triggers, really add to the gameplay. Plus, if you are alone, the “spring ride” (the springs are placed so they bounce you around the level in loops if you stand still) is very fun. Making a long story short, this is an excellent level with a great new gametype that I hope to see more of. Download recommendation.
Very nice.
And, A2JF, there is a hard-to-get utility, Jazz 2 Episode File Creator (great name, eh?) that lets you make .J2E files using .PCX files and a customizable .INI file.
Not bad at all, though I’m not particurally fond of test levels. In other words, they hate me, and I hate them. ;-P
This level’s tileset is pretty good and the eyecandy is fair, but the gameplay is lacking. I’m sorry, but I can’t recommend this level in it’s current state.
File not found.
This is a below average race level totally lacking eyecandy. Worst of all, it doesn’t actually work.
Very challenging. It was a fun play. There were so tile errors, but not enough to detract from the overall package. Download recommendation.
This is a small tileset, but is of high quality. I think that FQuist…er Disguise did a good job making this. Download recommendation, but it’s so small that you’ll find making a level with it can be a tad bit tedious.
This level is terrible. I can’t recommend it at all. There is some ammo, but it is all in a clump together. No download recommendation. In fact, I’ll give this an undownload recommendation. ;P
I still don’t understand what the secret is, but this level is OK. No download recommendation, however. It’s simple, which is both good and bad for this level.
This is excellent. I think that the colors look fine, and I’m not sure what some of White Rabbit’s other complaints were about, but some of them I agree with. Regardless, you should download this now or suffer eternal sporkstabbing.
This level has no mask and also is mostly ripped. Making a level using this tileset would be next to impossible, not that you would want to use this tileset anyway. Stay far, far away.
This makes for a great Haloween tileset. An especially nice upload for this time of the year. While playing, I almost expected pumpkins for enemies. ;-P
Very uneven. The level is too easy at some points, but torturously hard at others. It’s also unfairly slanted towards Jazz and provides no morph boxes when needed.
Very nice level. The eyecandy is unique, and it’s very well-made. A definite download recommendation.
This level is quite uneven in difficulty. Test levels should be easy at first and then gradually get harder.
