The beginning of this sounds pretty neat. Unfortunately, it only lures me in, then proceeds to knock me down (—).

1. The percussions are (bad). The tambourine/808-hat is (the worst).

2. These rolls are (also pretty bad). They need to be refined and shortened, or omitted altogether.

3. That beep sample sounds like it was recorded at 11 kHz. In a way, though, it fits in in the general lack of quality this song thrives on.

4. (-) Every instrument harmonically clashes with the others in a way that makes my head hurt. (—)

5. Despite the clashing, it still sounds empty throughout due to the lack of any mastering or processing. Everything is way too clean. Equalize it at the very least.

This could have been interesting if the execution was not so poor.

This one is just odd.

1. I don’t like your beat. The 909 hat and shaker do not fit in at all. Process or replace them.

2. Actually, the whole thing lacks processing and mastering. It sounds raw, in a bad way. It’s called Bass Battle, but it lacks bass if you ask me. Master it at the very least.

3. The mix on a whole is very lacking. This goes back to number 2 up there, but I felt that it needed its own point. At many points, it simply sounds empty.

4. The ending is odd. Perhaps not as abrupt as the castle thing, but still odd.

I do not like this.

1. It gets repetitive quickly. Very quickly. The MIDI-esque sawtooth lead circumvents this somewhat, but it’s still repetitive.

2. Your rolls build up to nothing. The first time is alright, but the other times just create a false sense of hope. You think that it’s building up to some sort of intense DnB or dance beat, but instead you end up with this slow rhythm. The rolls just don’t fit with the slow pace of this song.

3. Your ending is sudden. I don’t think you could possibly make it anymore abrupt.

It does interest me how the version you privately sent me features more processing than this version. Nevertheless, they both (are bad).

Hmm, reviewing is fun.
