Spoy hosted this like 30 times online and now Im going to review this (not with a usual long review though).

The levels are fun to play. The concept isnt really new (I made a level like this two years ago, even though its unreleased and unfinished dozens of people saw this =P. Violet also made stuff like this and Kirby SSB made more primitive forms of this) but its still original. The obstacles are nicely thought up of and a lot of teamwork is required. The levels are really fun to play at first, but they get boring once you play them for too long.
The eyecandy here and stuff is rather poor. Not much effort was put into making this level look good (nearly all the effort used seemed to be put into making the levels play good) and simple tilebugs arent even fixed. Its not too bad, but I would definately enjoy these levels more if they were pleasing to look at while I played them. Otherwise, this is a nice pack, although spoy overhosts it to death already =P. Rating for this would be a 7.5 and a download reccomendation. GG.
Oh, and btw, the cutscene owned. This made me boost up the overall rating of the pack by a few decimal points (although you wont get to know what the original rating was ;D). Nice and original cutscenes with innocent turtles being blown up ;D…

I only review when a level deserves it, and the loved Foo Races were nice, so why can’t the team races be? So, I would like to see other reviews that are nicely rated, not including mine. Otherwise I will do 683 different points of view in a minute! =O Banned from China.

Team Foo Race 01.

Not much eyecandy effects can be done with this tileset but some stuff are impressive. I guess the eyecandy is okay, for such an overused, 2D set. ;( No offence. It’s still nice. I guess it can be stopped blabbing about or something now.
The flow is simple, a bit biased, but still the same around, not really any tactics but using ammo wisely and smartly. Anyway, if you are dumb, this should be near impossible.
The layout is okay, but races don’t have expected layouts, this is jus quite warpy. But if you really want extra points from me, there would have been a level where all players can meet (and attack eachother if they are dumb/smart enough), maybe even a split way for teams, like a player has a choice of 2 ways to go, despite the JAZZ/SPAZ stuff.
Ammo Placement was good. Nothing to say its race.

Team Foo Race 02.

The eyecandy is okay again, nothing to scream about like WOWOWOWOW! Nothing to scream in fear about. Some interesting unused things, not much but there you go.
The gameplay is quite simple in this one. You SHOULD know where to go. Its basically move down and do what I say. The I being the sign. ;)
The layout is a vertical tower where you descend upon your victory.
The ammo placement? Not much ammo, not much needed!

Team Foo Race 03.

Okay, a few eyecandy bugs here, and I dont really like the set at all, you used it okayish however. There are nice decorative areas.
The gameplay? Its nuts. Just don’t be tempted by the mad rooms, I have to admit, I ran for the bouncer PU a few times.. ;( Sorry spoy. Anyway nice tempting rooms for distractions, would be as hard as ever if you are dumb.
The layout being a big sort of loop that goes close to lines but dont join if you see what I mean.
The ammo is perfectly placed here.

Team Foo Race 04.

The 4th level, well okay eyecandy again, nothing to gasp about. Nothing to cry about. This probably being my favourite one has two things I particularily like. The jail at the end and the moonish lookish pillar.
The gameplay is simple, but may need a brain. Some people lack that factor. Anyway, a lot of repetition if you arent wise. Same sort of layout as 1st. And same sort of ammo placement.

Team Foo Race 05.

The eyecandy has a few bugs and some sexy MCEs. Not much I need to explain. There are loads of JJ2 tilesets morphed together and a lot of fun to play.
The gameplay is smooth for this one, but it can depend on teamplay and waiting behind for slower players
Or they might be doomed to be stuck.
Then the layout comes in, a bit loopy but not a circle sort of thing, you go to various places twice. Ammo = s3xy

Overall ~ How I rate the pack

The pack deserves a high rating, and I felt it should get an 8 from me, maybe a bit low, but im mean. ;( Anyway, I feel the pack is a lot of fun to play online and so you need to download it or be eaten by a fish called Jim!

I HATE THE ORANGE GAME!!!

Anyways, I NEVER expected someone to do a blode tileset. What’s next, a Homestar Runner tileset? Hmm.. maybe somebody already did that. I’ll go check.

Kaa, in Hocus Pocus you cannot make levels for JJ2;P

Conversion is good, this pack cointains three tilesets.

Then, 7.5[This review has been edited by Danyjel]

Well, for a ‘conversion’ its good, but its missing to many things. Having the shareware (episode 1) of Hocus Pocus, (It was one of the first 10 games i had on my computer , my old one), i can compare this and the actual set in the game fairly. The backround is there, but it would of been nice to add in an extra textured warp backround for people who have trouble using a non-warp backround (This may sound like im the one having trouble, but im saying this for all you quiet people out there who are having trouble with JCS). Anyways, some tubes or destruct blocks or stuff like that would of been nice. Just because it is a ‘conversion’ doesnt mean only tiles that are ‘converted’ can be used in the tileset. Add some of your own tiles in, it will boost up the mark, i GUARANTEE it. Well, overally about that point is that the main tiles are completely missing (except the ground and stuff). The wizard’s there, that same poor one which you people blindly named fooruman just to make an idiotic version of a character in lord of the rings or something. Anyways, you CAN make a level with this, but it wont get higher than a 7, which is what im giving this. There is quality in this, but i reccomend you download violet’s conversion which contains all 4 hocus pocus episode 1 worlds. Still some tiles missing, but quality guaranteed.
To much ripped tiles, i cant really give this a download reccomendation, sorry.

“Hocus Pocus 5” is the fifth (duh) in the Hocus Pocus tileset series. Not as good as its predcessors, it includes Fooruman, an old standby of the series, some reddish block tiles, a strange “new” wizard character, and some miscellaneous stuff. This tileset just seems to be missing something. Still, it’s very good, and I’ll bet dollars to donuts it’s going to be used for Foo Races, so might as well D/L it now rather than when joining a Foo Race server and causing lag to the poor players. =P

Hmm, it’s a conversion (ripped tiles) and it’s not even a good one.. All neccesary stuff missing and stuff. Really odd that tilesets like this sometimes get ratings higher than a 6.

Interesting, i cant compare the original hocus pocus level 1 and 2 episode 2 because i only have episode 1…..shame

I didnt like it as most of you but didnt hate it as well. Im glad u included the enemies, i never saw them and wascurious about their identity. U also included the main tiles like walls, bricks, gems and cups and things, but some useless animations as well. And some useless tiles, i guess this is ok and a well effort.

Well, after seeing smilar tilesets in action in the Hocus Pocus conversion pack (and earlier “ancestors” of it in the Foo Races series), I must say that I am a fan of this sort of tileset. The 1.44MB file (the exact size of a floppy disk, coincidentally) contains three files. The first is, of course, the tileset. The second is an average demo level. The last file is “Strider” (strider.it), a catchy and somewhat post-techno (if you have any idea what that means, you’ve been listening to too much Cracking Ice) music file that is good but not my favorite. The tileset itself has a red tint, which I did not exactly expect in a Hocus Pocus-themed tileset (most of Hocus Pocus is blue, purple, green, or a combonation of the three.) The standard Hocus Pocus tiles are there, with the wizard, keys, gems, etcetera, etcetera. The tileset comes with everything you would need to make a good platformer-ish puzzle level (to see a great example of one of these, download Violet’s conversion of Hocus Pocus’ first episode, which I gave a 9.5 and a download recommendation.) Also included is the Fooruman (or any wizard for that matter) wizard tiles, the animation that is used when you kill something (you will have to play Violet’s pack to understand what the heck I am talking about.) If for some reason you have the urge to include EvilMike or FireSworD tiles (a hint that this will probably be used for Foo Races) in your level, this tileset provides them. Also, a nice animation of Spotty exploding is the icing on the cake. A very nice tileset that is another great conversion of Hocus Pocus. I am not sure if it is possible to get sick of seeing Hocus Pocus-themed levels and tilesets, but I can not say that I am anywhere close to sick of these great conversions yet. For this very good tileset, I give a score of eight and a download recommendation. Very nice job.

@Black Ninja: you feeling OK? ;P I don’t think this tileset is a 3 tileset.[This review has been edited by Trafton AT]

Another Good conversion from Spoy, it has enough tiles to make a decent level and i’ve noticed a lot of invisable blocks for creating illusions or whatever you have in mind. I wanted to have a long review but theres just not enough material to cover.

So download and enjoy yourself![This review has been edited by Fire Sword!]
