Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Online

This is like, 10 times better than ChatLogJJ2 or whatever it was called. And that didn’t even work on my computer. This has WORKING chat saving with a timestamp option. Logs roasts, captures, joining and leaving… Has a text box to send chat to jj2. Can generate stats for level and individual players, minimize to system tray… Let’s break each thing down here.

:: Basic Form and User Interface is simple and Friendly. -> 1.0

:: Saving and Loading Options with Timestamp. -> 1.5

:: Minimize to system tray and run in the background. -> 1.0

:: Optional and Automatic “Auto-Ignore”, “Filter Word Array” and the option to choose what to log (Roasts, CTF Points, Joining and Leaving, etc) -> 3.0

:: Option to Generate Statistics for a current log or a saved one, and view the stats of each individual player since SalLog was run. -> 3.2

Total Rating: 9.7
Recommendation: HIGHLY YES
Final Comments: SalLog is THE essential server/client side logging program for Jazz Jackrabbit 2. Period.

The discovery of this is amazing, and has many useful functions if we can find more things like this.
Discovery: 5.0 – Definately

Simple and User-Friendly interface, checkbox to enable/disable.
UserInterface: 3.5

Takes up virtually no memory and even jazz-illiterate people could use it.

What this program does is disable certain sounds in the JJ2 music, making for a familiar tune that has been mixed. It’s like an instant remix of the JJ2 level’s music that you are on.

I love this.

Actually, i’m kinda diggin’ this level…

Let’s start from the top:

TILESET~
Although like RedJazz has stated about the palette is true, I kind of like the ‘icey but not winter yet’ type of feel that the tileset has to it. In terms of usage in your level, I think you used it pretty much to its full extent, although I didn’t analyze every single aspect of it.
~You do get .5 for the tileset because you did not create it, but I did like your choice, so I commented on it.

WEAPON PLACEMENT~
In my personal opinion, I think you used too many powerups. But besides that, the bouncers in the igloos and RFs scattered all around the level make ammo not hard to come by; unlike other levels where i have to run a mile to find ammunition other than the default blaster.
~I give you a 1.5 for Weapon Placement.

BACKROUNDS AND EYECANDY~
While i do like your layer 8, i think you should add more to the other layers. And something that’s bothering me is the igloos. It should be a foreground layer, not a background layer. I understand why you put it as a background layer, but when you have the entrance hole as a foreground and the igloo itself as a background, it looks kind of funny, and just doesn’t feel right. Other than those, I think you did a good job with your eyecandy.
~Your eyecandy gets you a 3.5.

MUSIC~
I had to enable my sound to check out the music file you chose, and it fits very well, i must say. Although you didn’t create it yourself, i’m going to still give you points for your choice of music. I’m doing this because there are many, many different music files, and I think you chose very well on what to put into your level. It fits so well that it seems like you had the music choice picked out before the level was made! :D
~I have rated your music 1.2.

OVERALL~
I recommend download because it’s a REALLY fun instagib level when you get enough people in it. And my favorite part of this whole level is the water underneath the ground…it gives your level that ‘icey but not snowing’ type of feel. I dig that. :P
~The overall rating for this level is 6.7.

Although possibly a bit too big of a level, give it a chance.

Wow. This is pretty good Gry. I have to agree with Vegito, because when I host, I seem to have to open like 4 different programs to keep the server in good condition. This helps with many different things, and cuts down on the number of programs I (personally) have to open.
This has been rated a 9.2 for the above reasons.

THIS IS THE BEST TILESET I HAVE EVER SEEN. DOWNLOAD MUST HAVE. Jesus Christ what did you use on this? You must have spent a long time on this.. Wow, this is incredible. I use this tileset alot.

Yes, this is pretty cool, but I don’t think it deserves a 10/10.. There are other cool Jazz2 programs out there. I mean, come on, it’s useful, but it doesn’t deserve a 10. Nice work Alberto.

Eyecandy is pretty bad, too much of the level waisted. I suggest making practice levels, just to practice, your level making skills. Keep on practicing until you have gotten better at making levels.. Use the site that Flash gave out for tips. Keep on trying. :P

Not much to say, except the SEQUALS LIVE ON!!! I still have the original hocus pocus :P. Well Done Spotty!

Sorry Stilltto I ONLY NEW OF ONE MODE THAT WAS ALREADY OUT!! THAT WAS WINTER IDLE! None of the others i have never seen, and if they were not released to puclic, then you cant complain about these modes being released to public b/c they would be the first released to the WHOLE community. And its not that hard to read, at least for me.

The only thing that might be A LITTLE hard to read is the Close JJ2, but it worked fine on mine. And on Archangels. I’ve worked hard on it, for about 3 months, since im a beginner at VB, i had to figure out everything, BUT i had ALOT of help from j2HG members, they didnt make it, but some things i just couldent figure out, that are just a DUH, b/c now i know them. I guess im not in J2HG, huh? …yep.
