after all those poor reviews, I feel scared to review this :P
man i hate j2o smileys. turn them off.
now, as a side note, the review.
The first thing i thought when i saw this was ‘ugh, another poor Mario tileset’. So, i instantly clicked ‘download’. But i was very wrong. this tileset is not bad at all. It is a very, very good conversion of the classic game. However, i would suggest that, in order to improve graphics and the tileset in general, the author should have used the Super Nintendo version of this game. however, the graphics aren’t Spaztic’s fault at all; it’s an OLD game. The tileset includes all i want to make a perfect foo race. And i’ve already started making a foo race with it. expect that out soon. But i’m not here to talk about foo races. since i’ve talked about how good it is, it’s time to talk about Spaztic’s flaws. There aren’t any, although i still want some Koopas (not just Bowser).
All in all, this tileset is very good, and is definitely worth a download. Get it. Get it now.

argh
winzip says it isnt a valid zip file. so i’ll go lag the servers by downloading.
Wow. that’s what i said when i played it. i thought the biased one was dead. but he lives(!).
the level is very good, except for some minor things that i’m too lazy to post here. the arches are a tad annoying, but i think they are the most challenging part of the level. the level also includes a bit of a Scriptural message, that only through Christ do we have the victory. that’s the .2. very good level. get it now.
Well well, something different.
Yet another one of Violet’s tilesets. This one, however, is themed underwater. No, sadly no fooruman.
This tileset features all you need to make a good level, and maybe a bit more. It has some nice eyecandy, although it can look a bit repetative at times. No complaints at all, really, except one: the sucker tubes are bad bad bad bad. It pains me to look at them. Beside the tubes, however, this is a very worthy tileset. download it.
exceptional. the levels are great, deserving of a 10, but there are some problems with eye candy that….are problematic. Other than that, this is one of the best packs you’ll download. certainly worth downloading
Hmm. what to say..well, not much. but it is a very, very good tileset. Not any obvious flaws. I did notice, as someone that i forgot the name of said, there is no…..like……water….but its still a wonderfully done tileset.
get it or you’re a foo.
Hmm….I planned on rating this a 9.2, but I have been bribed. Well, not really. But this pack is very good. and here comes a review that will most likely end up being very long.
start review and spoy bashing
Well, when Violet told me he was converting the first episode of Hocus into jj2, I had my doubts. I told spoy about it in the form of calling him foo.
Which I do anyway.
Then, after a long time, I was allowed to play the first level. It was a VERY faithful conversion to the actual game Hocus Pocus…the main difference being the poorly drawn heroes….Normally, hocus is somewhat well drawn, and jazz……is jazz. ;p
Anyway, the level lived up to the game and more. I found it more fun to play than the actual game, truthfully. I enjoyed it more, probably because I get to play as Jazz, who, although isnt at all better drawn, has some good…moves.
Even though we arent supposed to use them, I find it really adds to the game. And, having beaten original Hocus ep. 1, I dont feel too bad. Anyway, it was an incredibly faithful conversion, probably as close as it can get.
Later, I was given the opportunity to play many more levels from the pack. I figured the first one would be the best…..but no! The rest of the levels are also exact conversions. I couldn’t believe that in only a year and 3 months Violet could create something so….good. (no, i’m not saying he makes bad levels ;p) So, I played various levels, which were surprisingly done in no order that I can tell.
Next, after playing most of the 8 levels, the Mad Monks of Mellenwah were finally finished. I couldn’t wait, as the monks are probably the best part in the entire game Hocus Pocus. I eagerly recieved the file from Violet, and went straight to the level in JCS to press run. I dont know why, as my levels list is not full at all. but oh well.
So, i began my long fig ht against the monks. Hard at first, but it was well worth it. THis is probably the most fun I’ve ever had playing a single player Jazz Jackrabbit2 level. And then there’s the music. For some reason, my sound card only worked with Hocus ONCE, and then Hocus wouldn’t detect it. But i DID hear the music from one of the levels……and the music here is a nearly perfect conversion, as is the rest of the pack. The tilesets are perfectly converted, as well. I was amazed that this wasnt one of Spotty’s high-quality type tilesets such as Land Of Blode v5. I let out a sigh of relief, and continued on with my life. Then, a while later, Violet told me he planned to release the Hocus pack. All the levels were done. I was happy. I asked if he’d like an episode file to go with that. So, we set to making one. He did the images, and I created the files. The menu selection text worked well, but it took quite a few tries to get the main image to work. after a while, it did work, though. Vio let then prepared to submit the pack to J2O. I waited. And then, a few hours later (he gave up at first because the pack took forever to upload), the pack was on. and now i reviewed it, as i finally finished almost all of the pack. (still cant beat level5 for some reason).
SO there is some history, and the reason why i hereby give Violet this well-deserved 10. I am very glad that this is such a good conversion of a great game. Download recommendation for sure.
Hmm. this is a decent tileset i guess. it has lots of useless tiles. but it has some cool eyecandy and stuff. and fooruman. who isnt terexin.
That’s about all i have to say. but the example level is cool ;p[This review has been edited by Black Ninja]
wow
very good tileset
lots of fooruman ;p
i say…………
9.5 points for fooruman, .1 point for the excellent BG, and .1 point for the other stuff. or something close to that.
Very nice, you can create many good levels with it. download recommended a lot.

argh, whenever i post a review it posts twice. Why was my old review deleted?

8 points for fooruman and 0.7 points for tileset.
(Rating removal. Rating is of questionable source. -Trafton)[This review has been edited by Trafton AT]
i helped bob make it. sort of. ;p
but, it’s a very good program. useful for people with horrible lag like me.
i love it. It has good textures, as piccolo said. The mountains…..i find very nice. they look like something Blade would make. and…..uh……i love it. get it.
i guess i’d better say what it does for people new to the program.
Anticrash prevents the game from crashing when a laser is fired, and the game continues running normally. that’s what it does….TSF compatible soon.
a good level! the fact that it’s your first level doesnt change the rating much. however, for a first level, this is amazing work. there are a few little graphics glitches, that lowers it from 8.5. the layout is nice, and gun placement is good, but not perfect. overall an 8.2 from me.
well, well…a level by shadow. i’ve played this on the net, not downloaded it from here. anyway, the review:
I had a lot of fun playing this level. in some places, foreground can be a little confusing/annoying. Weapons placement was good, In a few places it seemed like there were just a few too many weapons. not enough of a problem to lower the rating, though. The level layout was alright..it was actually really good, but i didnt understand it. =p I can’t comment on the music, as i played this online and didnt have the file. overall a 9.2 from me..great work. wow, this is like the longest review i’ve ever done. i want to be more than a medium reviewer! agh. ah well. good level. download it.
WOW! this is the best tileset i’ve ever seen, it looks just like something epic would create…only better. VERY nice animations, cool background, and lots of stuff for layers 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7.
download this. no questions asked.
i haven’t tested the example level, however, i have tested the tileset….and i must say it is one of the best i have ever seen. at first look, i thought it was sort of plain, but then i noticed the tons of animations. wow, very good. keep up the good work, and maybe try and create some music that goes well with it?[This review has been edited by Black Ninja]
there seems to be something i forgot to mention.
NEVER, EVER, EVER have it running in the menu! ONLY RUN IT WHEN IN GAME! otherwise the level will give you a no start position error.
and also, please remember:
this program isn’t meant to make people think they can just go using the laser all the time. even I don’t use it all the time. it is cheap, annoying, and crashes anyone who doesnt use this. so don’t use the laser! this isn’t made to promote its use.
EDIT: aaaagggghhh! grammar error.
EDIT2: AAAGH! typo! spelled grammar wrong. =p

EDIT3: just added the following information.
by laser, i mean shield#4. it can easily be used in multiplayer. not saying how for obvious reasons. anyway,
glad to see that you people are liking the program. and super saiyan, it protects you about 98-99% of the time. it is rare, but you CAN crash when using it. expect another release with TSF compatibility very soon.[This review has been edited by Black Ninja]
EDIT4: i’ve seen the error that monolith reported. working on a way to prevent this. i will edit this review with an official anticrash website link, which will include news, and the latest version, if my server will allow it.[This review has been edited by Black Ninja]
i haven’t downloaded it, but be sure to take time making your levels. otherwise you will get heavy criticism. I may download it to tell you any problems….
maybe release an update? ah well.
upload tilesets in the same pack as the levels if at all possible.
Wind Meister2 is out. everyone go rate it VERY high.
Wind Meister3 is on it’s way!
