EDIT- In that case PT32, I’m expecting a good amount of updates in a short amount of time. Also, and this may sound crazy, but theres a menu in the jazz2.exe that most people tend to choose levels from. It’s more userfriendly to just let people select levels from the menu instead of making them open passworded levels in JCS (which doesn’t give players the benefit of difficulty or character choice)

After spending the 10-20 minutes it takes to download and properly install Jackpack, you’d think that I’d be able to play the levels released for the friggin’ Jack Pack. Its been two releases so far and this still is not the case.

Considering these levels are intended for Jackpack, its more than a little frustrating that its impossible to play these levels in Jackpack without dragging over the Homecooked Levels episode and modifying the first level in each release’s properties. This is made more frustrating by the slowness of releases, meager level selection in said releases and the random level choice in each release. Odds are that theres a 1:16 chance the next release will be something playable (I.E. Diamondus levels), add on a release date of about a month between releases and we’re looking the prospect of having to go over a year before levels in Jackpack are actually playable. For watered down versions of JJ1 levels, this honestly just doesn’t feel worth it.

Since these levels cannot work in Jackpack as intended, I feel that this pack cannot garner more than a 1.

If I wanted to play a JJ1 level, I’d go play JJ1 instead of downloading a “Jackpack”, spending an hour trying to figure out what the hell is it and what am I supposed to do with it, only to find out I have to look for the tileset myself in order to play a carbon copy of a JJ1 level. Most of people here have played JJ1 at some point or another, they’ve seen how do the enemies look like, and they’ve heard the Fanolint theme themselves, so tell me: what is the point of this?

Yes this is true. I tested this level and I didn’t find other way,how miss this bug!
Levels are very good(in Poland we say:“Zajebiste” ;D)

I given PT32 8.2 earlier when I tested this, but for wav. format of music I’ll give him 8.5.

I could give him the higher rate but some animations are to slow. In JJ1 they animations were faster.

And one thing yet, which I said earlier about passowrds. Without passowrd other users will see,how hard you worked on this level.

OK! I’ll rewiew your level, because I am your beta tester ;)
The level is pure orginal like in JJ1,but the only one problem is no enemies.
I given you the particular enemies layout and I hope you’ll use this with reason ;)
The rest is very good but the animations would be faster,ex:20-30 fps.
Don’t seccuring your levels by password, because everyone want to check how good level you made.

I like how if you do go through all of the Jackpack installation marlarkey you technically can’t even play these levels unless you toss in the homecooked levels episode.

Very good but you could set enemies like fish, tube turtles and spike bolls, because without them the game is little boring ;/
Level is exackly this same like in JJ1,and Boss is good matched with Dreempipes.
Would you like to make an Orbitus replica but with enemies?

i saw TONS off bugs, dead ends, misplaced tiles that made me very :( sad face. So here they are with a review just for you, not making the same mistake next time.

First off all =
The music doesn’t fit in this Night version theme.. it’s to “heavy”…

something about the level platforms/gameplay:

it’s very clumsy and small.. u tried to make a pit with CTF bases and bees events . What won’t work,.. u won’t get hurt by the bees or Hurt events in multiplayer, and the score system to die only works in single player. So u will be stuck forever in that pit, nothing that will help you out.. you could at least Betatest your map to get the bugs out off it, what you probably haven’t done. We now like to use JJ2+ to let the 255 pit event work. and there are some dead ends at the upper side (especially left) which also ruins the gameplay a bit. oh and by the way, the steam is very irritating when u are moving around, and there is no way to get in the “coal chute” room since the wind is stopping you to get in ( u probably wanted that the wind BRINGS you in there.. but u used the wrong direction) the steam also prevents that you are not able to jump. and some in the mid is a tube that gives you a airboard which is pretty useless, since the paths are way to small at that part. some good points are, that the whole level also has some good big paths with nice platforms ideas.

some more things about the eyecandy:

the platforms do look a big plain (mostly straight lines) and the background is “okay”. the buildings are well done with good speed settings, but the Textured background isn’t textured here, which makes u get a weird pattern background at layer 8 when u are playing this level, and the moon doesn’t have any speed setting which makes the moon a very unrealistic look, because it doesn’t make any movement. the sprite layer has also some bugs, like misplacing tiles. the whole brick part that is made southeast of the map is misplaced, and the ground around the Danger Machina (don’t know how to name it) is also misplaced. the fire on the lava tiles does look a bit unrealistic, since these tiles are made for the background. and the fire that goes up in that machine looks a bit ugly, in my opinion.

Some things About Originality

Not much but just to say only one thing:
pretty original but the amount of events(most of the events are pretty usless like the airboard and hurt events) and the new ideas of eyecandy weren’t that good, which ruins your grade for a bit.

Download Recommendation?

No, the design was “okay” for a level around the 6, but the eyecandy and gameplay parts and useless events ruines the level a bit

don’t ask me why to write a quite long review for a level like this, but i just don’t want you to make these mistakes again.. i hope u use this review to make your new level better.

I also hope you make effort on you’re skills so u can get me suprised..

Well, we’ll see ;D
maybe i will write another review for your next level,.. who knows…. ;o
