Oh, no review yet? So be it.
First impressions: A level by JazzSpazJP, an unknown level maker for me.
Gameplay: This level is something new for me. The level is hard to get around, and that’s not a good thing. There are not enough springs, there is alot of one way, though. There is not a whole border around the level. That causes the flag bug. The level’s layout is bad, so is the flow. I just don’t like the level’s gameplay, and that’s all.
Conclusion gameplay: Bad layout, flow and thus the level is hard to get around. There aren’t enough springs in the level, which makes the gameplay even worse.
Eye candy/Tileset use: The level’s eye candy is the strongest part. I kinda like it, but because the level is so open, the eye candy is nothing special. The tileset use is good, no complaints. There are things in layer 3 that are unnecessary, like that tree that is at the place of the left base. There is way too many one way there too, but let’s continue with the eye candy now. That could be taken out, but it doesn’t really matter(of course).
Conclusion eye candy: Good eye candy, but the level is so open, it could be much better if the level was more closed. Good tileset use, too.
Placement: The level’s ammo placement is questionable in some places, there is not too amny ammo. There are fast fires placed somewhere, but they’re secret. It’s never a good idea to make them secret. Actually, there is way too less ammo. I don’t understand the carrot placement, there is a full energy way too close to the right base. This is a very bad thing. There are 4 PU, Seeker, Bouncer, RF and Blaster. I don’t like the placement of them. The Seeker PU is placed close to the right base, the RF PU placed at the left side. The Blaster PU placed more close to the left base too, same to the Bouncy PU. There is ice too, only put ice when it’s necessary. There is 1 crate, and it’s a ice crate. I don’t like ice too much, but that’s probably just me.
Conclusion placement: Too less ammo, Bad PU placement, some ice. 4 PU is too many imo.
Originality: The tileset isn’t used alot, but there are a few I know that are created with it. The layout is original, but bad. The music is unknown for me. No other things to say here.
Conclusion originality: Not too original, original layout(but bad) and music, tileset isn’t overused, but I know a few more levels created with it.
Fun Factor: Actually, the level is fun to play. It may sound weird, but it’s quite fun. The way to the base is very interesting. The level is too open, which is worse. If it was not too closed and not too open, it would be a very fun level.
I don’t give it a rating anymore. It’s already been rated. So, no rating.

Nice levels man!
1- nice/bad eyecandy
2-nice ammo placed.
the rest is fine!
7.2 from me!
Interesting overall, despite a few eyecandy bugs. Download recommendation.
Too lazy to review. Maybe i’ll do so later.
Sry JazzSpaz. This isn’t a very good lvl at all. There are far too many dead ends, the two bases aren’t connected to each other and weapons placement is really…er…not good.
The eyecandy is quite good though. The lvl has got almost everything Nature’s Ruins has to offer and it looks really nice.
Hidden Nature Ruins is an below average lvl and for that I’ll give it an 5.5.
Please mark TSF levels properly. Do not say they are for 1.23. There is nothing that prevents people from lowering their scores as a result of being mislead…
Oops…
I have re-uploaded it and strange enough the tileset was not
correctly said.
It has to be:
Other Tileset(custom)
Well the Tileset is very good used. Just good quality. But let us talk about the ‘style’ of the lvl, below average. A ctf level should be connected to each bases, but in this lvl there are all kinds stuff between it wich lead you to other places etc. There are very much dead ends. This is really not correct for a ctf game. I prefer you should make a battle lvl with this instead a ctf lvl. Well I think its worth a download recommendation. But I wont rate it so high.
Lots of powerups in this one.
The bad thing about the weapons is that they respawn too quick.
While the map is small it feels a bit linear in someplaces and the trigger zones kinda add to that, some people may not know that there are triggers in the level and where certain switches are.
The tileplacement is ok with some misplaced tiles here are there that sticks out.
A couple more layers could’ve been used as well.
Also remember that this level requires tsf although it’s using a tileset that was in 1.23. It would have been better to start using 1.23 jcs or convert it so everyone would be able to play it.
Other than that the map is ok and is totally playable regardless of it’s small size. Tsf jazzers get this one.

his is making me sick to my stomach, Bkarni UNCOOL!!! YOU LITLE NERD!!!! This, guy probably does’nt have any other version of JJ2 apart from TSF! IF HE WANTS TO MAKE HIS LEVELS IN TSF JCS THEN LET HIM!!!!!!!!!. I would like to tell the admins to strongly consider temporarily banning Bjarni from this site if he keeps on like this.[This review has been edited by >CelL<]
Bjarni, for heaven’s sake, don’t rate levels 1.0 just because they are TSF. If you don’t have TSF, just don’t download the level.
ok, the level itself now. the level is pretty huge. maybe even a bit too big for battle, i think you’ll need at least 6 players for a nice game in it. the weapon placement is okay, although there are a few spots that are somewhat empty. but, the eyecandy is very good, so this is still worth a download recommendation from me.
This is a large level, 256 by 65. I couldn’t see any mistakes. The only problem is it might be a bit hard to find people on a server with less than 5 people. It would be more convenient if the level wasn’t a TSF level, but its too late to change it now :P
well, good level, I give it a 7.7 :)
I’m only giving it a 2.5 because it’s an OK battle level for hit-and-run battles. Not much else, though.
One last comment:
AIKO FOR ADMIN!
He already has his own catagory! :)
there are to many objects and for the rest of the level is it quite good.
Violet doesn’t seem to like this lvl very much. Well I don’t really like it either.
The ammo placement is, in my opinion, quite good although it seems to be far too little ammo around.
I couldn’t find much tile bugs at all but there are one or two dead ends which (I discovered that yesterday) was very annoying.
The eyecandy of Carrot Battle is above average but it’s a little confusing, especially a the bottom of the lvl were the big carrots block your sight, and in some places the eyecandy is too little.
Carrot Battle has got good gameplay. There aren’t much obstacles around, there are springs and poles placed in the right position. But there are some places which is quite Jazz and Lori unfriendly which gives Spaz the advantage in Carrot Battle.
Carrot Battle is quite an average lvl but it’s very fun to play in (I discovered that yesterday too) so ppl might want to download this.
Carrot Battle gets an 6.5 from me.
Cheers,
White Rabbit.
Well, it’s obvious some parts of this level were COPIED from Carrotus Squash. I’ve played it enough in Battle Server (Before Monolith removed it) to notice that.
Other then that, this is an ok level. There’s bad ammo placement, and tile bugs, but it’s ok. It’s about springs, pumpkins, foreground plants, and nothing in the background.
By the way, how come all your levels, in order to get them, I have to open two folders Inside the .zip file?
Well, “Inside the Castle2” is pretty confusing battle(?) level using the Castle tileset, which is totally overused.
The layout is more than confusing in my opinion and i wonder if it makes sense at all. It’s more like you warp from one area to another collect some of the not-so-creatively placed weapons, find your way through you some may call labyrinth and take the next warp. That’s all.
Okay, there aren’t any major tile placement bugs but nevertheless i find the use of some structures very questionable. Layer work is nearly non-existant.
To sum it up, this isn’t worth downloading at all. Sorry. Try to avoid the disavantages i mentioned next time (nearly three points, but i didn’t feel like).
P.S.: Do not include the full path info in the ZiP archive. Causes trouble.
When I first saw this, it appeared to be a small room, with one platform, and no ammo. There was a small hole in the floor that you can’t do anything in, and is covered in layer 3.
Thankfully, or maybe not, just as I was about to Alt+F4, I noticed that the door was a warp. The entire level is a bunch of warps that lead to eachother. The tileset use is…. ok.
The design is poor. The weapons placement is poor. The gameplay is poor. More of a maze then anything else.
Last note. This is a 1.24 level.
