Very good level (and tileset)
looks pretty good and is useful enough for battle games.
Here’s two so awesome levels by Shadow.
There’s good weapon placement, and the levels are big, what ís not bad thing. But I think that foods are not important in battle levels. These levels should everybody download NOW.
BTW, mrplonker this is not advertising place.
Very nice level pack by Shadow.
The eye candy in the town tilesets were used great, and the layout fits the tileset well, a good variety of stuff to get.
Conclusion: Get this now. :-)
Shadow sent it to me on icq!
the levels rock!
the first one is a bit small
but the second one is very BIG
it uses my fav. tileset too.
Yay! I beta-tested this one for Shadow and as one of the level names promises, this pack really rocks!
The Town tileset is one my top favourite tilesets and its incredibly hard to work with. Now, both levels feature very good eyecandy and a great design (plus very smart weapon placement).
You will find all kind of weapons (even those you don’t like that much :-) and, as in most ML releases, some yummie/evil food. Despite or just because of that, the two levels allow a very fluent gameplay which makes it fun to battle in them.
Conclusion: "Street Wars" from Mystic Legends is the best Town Battle ever (by far!) and therefore a MUST DOWNLOAD! Very very high eight points!
Wow, i guess this is the first time, i will give the highest rating for a level :-)
Well, no problem, Shadow, here are my high 7 points shakes his hand, hehe.
I like the layout and tileset selection (the Astronia set in "Night War" rox) very much, dont ask me why. Call me naive, i dont care :-) LETS BATTLE!!!
hey, told ya they where ol d=)
Hmmm, not many diagonals. The design is okay, as mentioned before the levels are very small. I’d guess about 50×50, just about perfect for 1vs1 (you got that Bobby? ;) I also liked the way he used my tileset (the rain moves a bit too slow though), a long time ago when I tested this he mentioned some "lightning" effect where the background flashed every now and then for some unknown reason. The levels are okay overall, not anyhting extremely great, but also not the worst I’ve seen. I will repeat myself and say: The only thing they are really worthy of is dueling.
i didnt give this a ten because this level is quite good but too old and too much of a warp here opps that was a warp
oops another warp
Its not too original. These levels, especially the mukamo one, are basicly rectangles of land thrown here and there with a few springs thrown in to make it playable. The mountan one is better, but still not as good.
The eyecandy could have been improved in both the levels if you gave it enough work also.
5 points for avarageness
1 for a littile eyecandy
Hmmm…
There’s really not that much here. They’re pretty small, which makes them nice for lots of close combat, but still… they lack a lot of eye candy. ‘Not really an important download, but it may still be worth your time seeing it’s better than what most people can do with JCS.
Hmm these levels are pretty small.. I like some of the components.
I like the background and foreground layers.
It could use some more eye candy but
I dont think thats possible with this set.
(also in da read me file)
Hey there welcome to Shadow`s Archives of Non-released..
These levels here are more then a year old now =P (july/aug 1999)
it was made in the time that i was J2lC and later GpW software (so before Mystic Legends)
it was mine first tryouts for a costum tileset and even not that bad .. =P
But why I didn`t release those because the levels are way to small (good for a 1vs1 thought) also i thought i lost them but i found a old ZiP drive floppy with the files on so.. lets release those =D
there is a smaller version of the 2 levels and big version =) .
Have Fun~Shadow[GpW
Could only play the first two due to the
third being TSF and not having the tile set.
Found food type events in the second level which
as anyone knows the sugar rush doesn’t work online. (bummer)
Along with the needed downloaded music file in a multi-
player level, again. Gives this other wise fantastic pack a 7.5
Definitely some good CTFing here. The layout is sound, entertaining, and interesting, with just a few oddities that could have been put to better use like the sucker tube in the top left. There’s a good mix of weapons, with seekers, bouncers and rfs in good positions. The routes around the level are simple, but work well. I would like to point out to Derby that the biggest obstacle between bases is the flag carrier on the other team. Darker Science provides plenty of room to battle that opponent in, and well placed carrots to both heal up and wait for your enemy at. (Bobby and I dueled once in here and it lasted at least an hour) Eye candy is suitable and nice, though not eye-catching (or distracting). Overall the level is very functionable and playable. But what would we expect from ShadowGPW?
Hehe, yes, I told him right after he put it on Jazz2City. It’s just one of those little things that seem to happen. That was such an old level, I’m quite suprised someone actually remembers it. Prolly my first battle level I made where I focused a lot on design rather than just my average slap-dash type of level making. Haha, I made this level to rejoice my happiness for making it into J2LC. Haha, I can’t even remember how logn ago it was :)
Very cool battle level. :-)
The spring placement was quite cool, however not perfect. (springs are more important in levels than people realise, and the springs were used nicely here) Overall worth your download, but I’m not a big battle fan. :-)
I have always liked this level. It deserved it’s place in the anniversary bash pack.
Another great Labrat level by Schad…eh…Shadow GPW. Everything from layout to eyecandy is pretty good.
Even i could like a CTF game taking place here. Apart from that you won’t find anything super original in it so i’ll…round up my rating (6.9 points :-).
A real classic! Every battle freak should have these three levels in his “homecooked” list.
The design and eyecandy are very good, the music in the second level also meets the standards
and all in all “Clan Wars” are still much fun to play. (Download!)[This review has been edited by Aiko]
