EYECANDY

Pretty good. The backgrounds look great. I didn’t come across any tile bugs. The effects used on some of the levels were very cool.

10/10

GAMEPLAY

The pack was a bit short I thought. The levels were not really that long or that difficult. I didn’t think there were enough secrets to be found. So the gameplay kinda let this pack down. The 2 Bubbas made it harder at the end.

6/10

ITEM PLACEMENT

There were 3 PUs in LV2 which I thought made it a bit too easy especially because I got the Blaster PU which is the best. There was an RF PU in LV3 which was placed well as I didn’t see it on the first play through. I didn’t think that there was enough food as I didn’t get a Sugar Rush. Placement is good but there’s not really enough items to find.

5/10

ENEMY & OBSTACLE PLACEMENT

Not really that many enemies in this pack. I saw about 20 enemies, that’s not really enough to kill me though. Placement is OK but there’s not enough.
Obstacles were a bit lax. There was some Trigger Scenery used in LV2 but there wasn’t anywhere else. There were some Spikeballs in LV2 also but it just wasn’t enough.

5/10

SUMMARY

GOOD POINTS

*Really cool effects
*Good Backgrounds
*No tilebugs

BAD POINTS

*Short
*Not many items
*Not many enemies
*Lack of obstacles

TOTAL = 26/40 (6.5)

RANK: D+ = GOOD

DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDATION?

The eyecandy was great but the pack was a bit short. I’ll give this a YES as I think it’s worth a look because of the cool effects. Anything that gets 6.5 or higher will now get a Yes from me.

OUCH! MY EYES!

EYECANDY

Nothing but flashing tiles in the background. Very bad if you are epileptic. DON’T play this for more than 1 MINUTE otherwise you’ll get a headache.

0/10

GAMEPLAY

Just go through some fast spinning spike balls. Turn into a Frog, then a Bird then Copter over a pit of enemies into a Sucker Tube to the end. This took me about 30 seconds to complete.

1/10

ENEMY & OBSTACLE PLACEMENT

There was some fast spinning spikeballs. There were loads of enemies. This level is really hard to finish without using JJINV or JJRUSH, which is what I resorted to when I was a Bird.

1/10

ITEM & BONUS PLACEMENT.

No items except a Bird Morph. No Bonus Area.

1/10

TOTAL = 3/40 (0.75)
But it will have to be a 1.0 since scores like that can’t be done anymore.

DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDATION?

NO! Unless you want a headache and sore eyes.

SCRIPTION

I quite like this set. The masking is not that great though. The tileset is quite big, there are lots of tiles to use. It is missing some of the important basic JJ2 stuff though, including text signs, destruct and buttstomp scenery blocks (* & !). The backgrounds look good. There are 2 different versions of this set; Black and White.
I would find this quite hard to use though. I wouldn’t know where to start.
Now, for a rating, I’m gonna give this a 6.5 as it’s a pretty good set but it’s hard to use and the masking isn’t really that great.

RATING: 6.5

RANK: D – OK

DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDATION?

Normally I would only say yes for anything that got 7 or more but I think it’s worth a look as it is a great concept.

WOW!

This is just amazing.

At the first place:
You perfectly build up the levels and they’re just as much fun and energic as the official Levels, well done!

At the second place:
The music is nice. The tracks fit with the levels, zo another good point.

At the third and last place:
The levels are great for the real players. The secrets are very well hidden, the enemies make it real hard levels and all the pickups are very well lay-out.

Final opinion:
A real MUST HAVE for the real Jazz2 player. Good Music and Good levels, some tiny mini defaults, makes me come up with a 9.7

Great Job, keep on the good work.

I’d reccomend taking the “(2)” away from the white set’s filename, to avoid in-game download troubles.

Wow, really awesome conversion, no bugs and it’s really easy to use. Lot of event tiles, some nice animations… Surely one of the best conversions ever done.

I actually quite like this. You can really be creative with this tileset and its really usefull in a computer episode or something like that. And to top it off, you have TWO backrounds that you can choose from.

However, it would have been a lot better if it had the important stuff ideal for JJ2 gameplay (eg. shooting blocks, poles and more tiles that could be animated)

RATING: 6.5
DOWNLOAD?: Usually, I would give an N/A for anythiug under a 7. But this at least deserves to be used, despite the fact its missing a lot of things.

I don’t want comment, I want ask why when I stay on ‘?’ I can’t see text?

[Probably because you saved the level in JCS, which you shouldn’t do. Download the level again, don’t save it in JCS, and the text strings will work. ~Cooba]

Now I can’t load level. Does it work in TSF?

The third episode of the series were not as good as i’ve expected. I couldn’t enjoy like i did in the first two episodes. cause there were always endless pits, bloody spikes that sucks you…
No 1ups and not enough carrots to balance the difficulty, it’s nearly impossible to beat.

Also there weren’t new ideas except the explosions while chasing Mick Natla. Also the animated rocks in the temples were original.

The pack has has 5 episodes and it’s hard to keep the story interesting.
So there are two more episodes, and the author would make these episodes much more different than the first three. cause the pack started to repeat itself.
So, it’s my rating:
Gameplay- +0.9
Idea- +1.7
Tileset- +0.9
Music- +1.3
Bugs- +1.6
Rating- =6.4> 6.5
