Winamp classic skin.
Nice, but has few bugs which make this a bit unusable thing. For example, no border around the seeker bar, plus it’s too light. There is some empty box, which looks just plain ugly.
Going back to the default Winamp Modern Skin.
Noticed “rate if you like” to deserve high rating… So I am scared of that you’ll get N/A, not 10…
Hey This Isnt So Bad For An First Level!!!!!
Mine First Was 10 Tiles!
I Don’t Like It Really Much But Because Its Your 1st Level I Geve A 6.1

The Forest at Night
This level is a floating platform, with a few smaller floating platforms on top of it. The eyecandy is good, all layers are used, but there are lots of bushes placed, making the level a bit confusing. Lots of ammo has been placed. The gameplay is ok, but I found two places slowing you down, and the lighting has been set to 40%. If you jump off the main platform, a sucker tube will send you to the opposite part of the platform, witch is useful if you want to flight.
Conclusion
The level is cool, but it’s a bit small, and the there’s a bit to much eyecandy. Maybe you could create a pack with more small battle-levels. The sucker tube system is also really cool.
Fun: 4/6
Eyecandy: 4/6
Event Placement: 4/6
Gameplay: 3/6
I’ll give you a 6.7
Why nobody reviews this pack?
Betrayed-Intro
The first short level of the pack uses the Wasteland tileset. The eyecandy is ok, but it only uses layer 4 and maybe layer 3. It took me a while to figure out you have to shoot invisible tiles to create blocks, and some of these invisible blocks lock you in easily.
The palace
This level uses the Dark Reign tileset. There are more enemies in this level and and some trigger crates. To get one of this crates, you must first shoot those invisible blocks. There are a few cool traps in this level, like a small room with raven generators. After a while you’ll have to buttstomp-climb on float suckers above an insta-death pit, being very hard. The eyecandy improved a bit.
Central Dungeon
This very short level uses again the Dark Reign tileset and has the same meaning as the Central Cave of Tomb Rabbit. There’s an annoying slow sucker tube at the start.
Gaurd’s Barracks
This level uses the castle tileset and has a lot of warps. This level is a complete maze and you must find trigger crates to open doors. Eyecandy is a bit poor in this level. The level is ok but there are a few warps leading to death, making this level taking lots of lives.
Central Dungeon
This time you need to collect coins to continue.
The Keymaster
This level uses the Desert tileset. Eyecandy improved a lot but there’s again a stupid insta-death pit with float suckers. You’ll have to find the key and return to the start of the level. There is a cool obstacle in this level with collapsing blocks, but there’s no save point out there.
Central Dungeon
This level is just a short straigt walk to the exit of the dungeon.
Ending
Just a little cutscene and the credits, using E.E.H Ending Credits tileset.
Conclusion
This is a nice levelpack, but at some points it could be improved a lot. Like removing the buttstomp-climb on enemies and filling up the not used part of the levels with ground, to make it look nicer. Also dont use hundreds of enemies at the same place. It is harder to place enemies at hard places then placing a lot of enemies. Some of the traps you used are cool, but some of them cost a lot of lives/health. There is hardly any ammo added, making it harder, but a bit more boring.
Fun: 4/6
Eyecandy: 4/6
Gameplay: 3/6
Event Placement: 3/6
I’ll give you a 6.5
Nice work!
I haven’t reviewed this. Wow. I think I will now.
One Spot
Firstly, the atmosphere in this level is among the best atmosphere I’ve seen. The backround is really awesome (looks a lot better than the default backround) and the music is pleasant to the ears. The eyecandy is also really nice to look at. I don’t really like the flow of the level. Lots of things could use one ways (66, 28), and I’m not too fond of the placement of the full energy. The layout is alright, I like the originality used in the placement of the bases, which I haven’t seen remade to this day. I also kept bumping into walls and solid tiles as I ran through the object, as several areas are rather cramped. Weapon placement is alright, I didn’t really have a problem with it. The right area could’ve used more ammo though, but the bouncer pu might make up for that. Also, the music has a looping bug, so that = bad =(. Rating for level: Eyecandy: 9.5 Gameplay/Layout: 7.5 Originality: 8.5 Placement of Stuff: 8.4 Overall (not average): 8.3 Final Rating for One Spot: 8.44 ~ 8.4 (-0.1 for the music bug) = 8.3 Additional Comments: Its a great level to look at and maybe play for fun, but I don’t think I’ll have any serious games in here. The looping bug of the music also gives you a limited time to gaze at the eyecandy and marvel the atmosphere before your ears get blasted by an annoying repeating sound.Medieval Skyscrapers:
I’ve played this one a lot (even had a clanwar in it).
Firstly, I also like the atmosphere in it. The level shows off what the tileset is capable of, and it looks like a fortress. Eyecandy and tileset use is great.
The layout of the level is better than in the last. It allows for strategy, and still has originality involved in it (though not as much as in the previous level). I don’t like how it is so easy to hide in this level (by flying towards the top corners, nobody ever goes there) and waste time, but bleh.
I found the placement of things to be alright, except the underusage of RF. There were so many situations where RFs could’ve saved the day, but because they were placed in the most unused passages, few players had them (In games with a lot of people, you rarely will have time to get them). The lack of RFs got more annoying because the level was so open which maximized their usage. At least there was a bit of pepper in the way for use..
Still, I like this level. It may have lost my clan an important tournament, but I would still play in it. The music is a nice choice, too.
Rating:
Eyecandy: 8.7
Gameplay/Layout: 8.3
Placement of Stuff: 8
Originality: 8.5
Overall (not an average): 8.5
Final Rating for Medieval Skyscrapers: 8.4 ~ 8.4
Additional Comments: Despite the rather low rating the level recieved, it seems like an interesting level to have games in, although most of them would be 3vs3s or more.
The Melting Point:
Firstly, I like the eyecandy in here. A lot of it inspired Zerox. It has a few tilebugs, but I think most of them are fault of the set and its limits to creativity in certain areas. I like the variety of wall tiles used to prevent repetition. Layout is alright. Its symmetrical to prevent bias. I was never fond of Wind Events in CTF (I don’t like levels such as Superconductor for that reason), but here it is reasonably tolerable. Sometimes its annoying trying to get the carrots though. Also, the small L shaped tubes next to each base that jet you out really fast are a bit useless unless you want an alternative route to go up, since most people would just run for the base instead of the tubes. I guess at certain moments they could provide some form of use. This level is rather original, but a lot of the things in it have been remade (like the backround) and a lot ofthem have been done before (the wind thing). I like the idea of having two +1 carrots and no full energy though, but it would be hard to stay alive with powered up weapons firing at you. Overall, it’s a nice level. I might host it time to time, but I would have few if any important games in here since it doesn’t really feel much of an intense level. Rating: Eyecandy: 8.6 Gameplay/Layout: 8.3 Originality: 8.4 Placement of Stuff: 8.2 Overall (not an average): 8.3 Final Rating: 8.36 ~ 8.4 Additional Comments: A pretty good all around level. Too bad few people play it nowadays, since it could be fun.Non-Typical Battle:
I like this level. It seems like one of those levels you play for enjoyable games with your friends. It’s rather unique, and has a lot of interesting quirks to it like the jail, the interestingly done shield, and the hidden seeker powerup. Eyecandy is good, but in the other levels it was better. The backround is still cool, though, and the eyecandy is still great. Ammo is placed sparcely but often in large clumps. I’m not too fond of the patterns it is placed in, but it is tolerable. Originality is great. The level has a lot of great quirks in it, like jails, the shield, etc. Unfortunately this makes the level seem like its more intended for open servers with lots of people then intense play. Rating: Eyecandy: 8.3 Layout/Gameplay: 8.2 Originality: 8.8 Placement of Stuff: 7.7 Overall (not an average): 8.3 Final Rating: 8.26 ~ 8.3Additonal Comments: I would play in this level, but most of the games in it would probably be with friends and on boring evenings or rainy days. I still like this level, though.
Final Comments: The thing I love about this pack is that it shines in originality. Every level has something interesting in it, so even if the levels don’t appeal to you, there would still be something cool in them. I urge everyone to download and play this pack else you will miss out on a lot of great things. All of these levels are good.
Final Rating of pack: 8.4, and definately a download reccomendation.
Great Work!
Music is really good, but these drums… you should put some others also, these ain’t good at high acord :P Some techno elements also aren’t good here.
And this moment at 1:24 … Well, there’s something strange in background.
In 1:29 this sounds like Polish :P Train a bit your english speaking :P
From 2:12 there isn’t this ear-hurting background. Good. Also this guitar fits well in melody.
And these dead-ends near 3:00. They aren’t good.
4:12-4:15 : this background hurts.
Ending ? CAN be… but.. ah.. well, nevermind.
Finally: If you would fix it a bit, it would be pretty good i promise :P
Nice levels, but i don’t like the dead ends!!!!!I like the levels with huge space….well im not going to rate it, if only I don’t like it….but i like the tilesets hehe….still for someone this levels would be good….oh yea one more thing…i didn’t want to look at all the levels…:))))so i looked at some….
Nice level, Mateusz ,you were right about better plaing with spaz, well i think this level is good too and for 1 vs 1 , good that there no so many power ups like other levels ,well kinda hard playng level i reccomend it for proffesionals….:)
Eyecandy: 7.5
Layer 5 and 3 used a lot, layer 6 and 7 are used, background is textured, there are waterfalls, animated diamonds, double paths. Layer 1 and 2 not used much. They can usually be used for leaves in the foreground. Layer 2 is only used for a waterfall and layer 1 for a few small trees. The holes in the ground look nice and i couldn’t find any tilebugs. Very good job!
Placement: 8.5
Ammo well placed. There is bounced and RF power-up. You can get them with gun9, but you don’t always get 50 bullets. You can easily see the toaster pu. The seeker pu is hidden in the bushes. Good amount of carrots.
Design: 8
What do I see? There are some very small dead ends (64,96 duh). There are one ways. Some paths are 1 tile wide and you can’t move much.
Perhaps nobody reviewed this because it’s so damn huge.
Edit: Okay, played it through, here’s the review.
Flow: Flow is okay. Nothing really that bad, except for the warp on the lower left that wasn’t explained. I like the water. 3.5 of 5.
Eyecandy: The level doesn’t really look right unless you play in 8 bit mode, and even then, it looks weird because you can’t swim in lava, unless Jazz and Spaz both have extremophilic fur that can withstand the heat of lava. Also, the gems spin too fast. Everything else is okay. 4 of 5.
Gameplay: It’s okay, though I didn’t understand the toaster ammo underwater (toaster ammo doesn’t work underwater, and for a good reason, too). It may go with the idea well, but alone it doesn’t make sense. Otherwise, the gameplay is pretty nice. 4.5 of 5.
Tilt: I didn’t like the oversized music file that increased the zip file size. That makes me sad. -1 for that.
3.5 + 4 + 4.5 = 12 / 3 = 4 x 2 = 8 – 1 = 7. Download recommendation if you’re into duels, otherwise you can just download it if it’s ever in a server.
The included palettes are also very helpful, yay for them :).
As for larks comment about the microsoft .net framework. Everyone is going to have to download it eventually. It’s a great thing because it works cross platform, I already had it installed myself, and I should think most people will have it installed .. at least somewhat soon.
I think that Galavant should work at this tileset more. It has got many animations, rabbits, interesting climate (btw. look at example levels). Generally I like it at all.
Congratulations Gal. Good Job!
This program is good, but not incerdible. To reduce colors, you can use “paint” :P.
But ithink, that program will by useful
[Unsupported rating removak. You reinstated the rating but without improving your arguments for this rating. Please do not do this again. – FQuist]
This program is great. It fixes one of the most annoying problems you’ll face while making a tileset – color reduction. Unless you’re really good at it, color reduction will result in one of three things – a slightly worse looking set, a much worse looking set, and a downright repulsive looking set. With the help of TilesetPal, you can make a slightly worse looking set in a matter of minutes, palette events included.
I tested this program on a tileset that used about 6,000 colors, and it looked almost perfect when finished. It took about two minutes in all, too. With this program, not only can you do easy color reduction for tilesets, but it will also help to make basic palettes for your sets so you don’t have to do the annoying copy & paste work with other programs. This means people no longer have an excuse for not including palette events in their tilesets. Yay! =D
The only major problem I found with this program is that it has somewhat buggy .pcx support. I loaded a .pcx file, and it got completely distorted. I converted it to .bmp and then it worked fine. Also, having to download that file from Microsoft was an inconvenience, but nothing too bad. I can’t say the same for people with 56K though, since the file was 20-something megabytes.
In conclusion, this program is the best thing to happen to tileset makers since DTR. Quick and easy, useful, and it works great. Couldn’t ask for more.
Nice.
I’ve decided to review this level without a rating, because whatever is good or not is relative. Why else would one person percieve a level as good, and the other person would not see it as good or better?—Their sophistication? haha please; Standards are set depending on the majority of peoples tastes. The below is strictly my opinion. Wether or not you choose to agree with it and download the level is your choice alone.
Obviously the author took primary focus on the eyecandy. The level looks exceptional. The eyecandy isn’t very repetitive; There’s a lake at the bottom filled with coves and every area on land is densely covered with trees. In one area there is more variation with the “tall” trees (Seeker Woods) at the top right. Just when you thought the Diamondus Beta was used to its max.
The music is well chosen in my opinion. it’s a song by Alexander Brandon, so of course it sounds good. It fits with the theme and shouldn’t annoy most people. Overall, a very good first impression. This level is guaranteed to shock the newbies at first glance.
Normally, an average jj2 player would find the gameplay here quirky: There’s a full nrg, spaz-biasedness (though spaz players dominate jj2) the flow is off in some places, and the level doesn’t feel entirely polished. All of which people can adjust to with time. Although the level plays fast; the full nrg, various powerups, and a shield with the levels small size should make this level appeal to those who like some chaos in their fun. If you’re one of them I suggest you download this.
I can honestly say that I would play this level for a good few minutes of carnage, and then grow bored of it.

Or what is the REAL likk????
I played this in a server with Cooba, and I have to say, impressive.
Flow:
Awesome flow. Everything goes together nicely. I’d like to point out one thing: Jazz need not use the coptor to reach the seeker forest, as was said before. 5 of 5.
Eyecandy:
Pretty good. The use of 1ups behind the gems really being them out. The bubbler events are really well done. The only complaint I have is the background eyecandy. It looks like you just mirrored the cave tiles over and over again. 4 of 5.
Gameplay:
Pretty well done. There’s a good amount of weapons scattered about, with one full NRG in the middle. What’s really neat is the use of water. I find that lurking in the water shooting seekers out of the water can get me a lot of kills. 4.5 of 5.
5 + 4 + 4.5 = 13.5 / 3 = 4.5 * 2 = 9.
Download recommendation.
Crysilis… Not an under-mixed song…
Power of this song is generally in samples. As soon as song starts, they just rocks. Main background melody sample quality is terrific. Then comes next and next… In this way, it’s totally proffessional work.
Then, they are some little changes (to the good) in tune, like doubling of tone, moving tone 2 rows before.
Rhythm is fantastic, although bit repetitive. It’s made from normal loops, but they are distributed in awesomely sounding intervals.
(+) Samples, samples, samples
(+) Rhythm
(-) Maybe high-pitched sample sometime
(-) Nothing extra except samplec changed
This tune deserves high rating mainly for sounding, for samples, for rhythm. It’s when somebody has good sample database ;). Download recommendation.
Okay, here is mine review.
Firstly, I must say this is your best JJ remix ever, JSZ Jazz. Difference, what’s between the original and this remix is big as Mount Everest placed at the highest mountain in the world (err… what’s the name of it?). And thanks to God, to the better.
Okay, we have totally awesome new melodies perfectly fitting into original song. And here’s the problem. That melody is played by too over-pitched piano, it hurts ears sometimes. My ears survived, but what ears of others???
Harmony is okay in 95 % of song, just sometime it doen not pan out. And this is good, cause this is JSZ Jazz’s mix.
Sample choice is delicious, bass line and piano (except that high-pitched sample 8) are without any reservations. Rhythm is stylish, it’s made very well.
(+) New melodies fitting to original
(+) Samples
(+) Rhythm
(-) High-pitched piano
So, this piece gets download recommendation from me. It’s for originality, for sounding, for that how the remix should look. Good also for games.
TIP (Tip mark gets music with 8+ rating)
This is fantastic program! How did ya do that? Please lemme know ;p
