I don’t know if I should give you rating or not. Since this really isn’t your level I probably won’t.
And anyway you shall get a review later if I bother to fix my JJ2 today.
^^^
You have proof that It’s not his level?
Very nice conversion here, great job on the guitar part. This midi is perfect for a lot of people who are into Doom wading and Game Making as it would make a very nice track.
-8.5 out of 10
Nice design on the level, but the graphics and background are a little bland, but I did have a little fun with this level, but when you update it with new things, I bet it’s gonna be better.
-5.5 out of 10
Good Pack right here, with huge levels, puzzles, (exspecialy Hidden Palace) Mulitple enimies, (Really cool effect) and tons of action, the only downfall is that the puzzles seem to repeat themselves, but the action covers that up.
-8.5 Out of 10
I feel like reviewing today, and my evil fingers grabbed this upload today :P
LVL DESIGN
The level design was converted very well, I saw no errors or something. I didn’t get stuck, or had any problems.
EYECANDY
The eyecandy is the bad part of the level, but a very important one in level conversions. The author said in his descriptions he had problems with the background, so I’ll try to help out.
I think your problem is, that you did not edit the layer properties. Layer properties??? What da hell is that??? Go into a layer (for example layer 5). Now right click and click on properties. Now you see a bunch of fields. You should now close the layer properties and load a second JCS. Open a psych level (for example psych1) and go to layer 5. Now copy the properties of the original psych level into your level and close the level properties. Now put in a background which fits. If you are more experienced you can use the same layer speeds (how fast a layer is moving) and put in other things as background. If the size is wrong, modify it so that it fits to the things you want to put in.
So, left is the sprite eyecandy, which is, sadly kinda empty. One part of Cliffy’s Battle1 had bricks in the background, but I don’t see them here. Well, in Psych there isn’t any layer 4 background, so I suggest you to use those bricks with layer 5 (make layer 5 speed 1). Also not enough stuff in layer 3. I don’t see anything in layers 2 and 1, but in battle these two layers are kinda disturbing, because they hinder the view of the player, so I won’t detract points for that.
OTHER STUFF
Another bad point of this conversion is, that it has the same glitches than the original battle1. It has the bubbleshield (which everybody hates), the two deadends on the sides, the blaster powerup doesn’t respawn, and again it has that !%&§$# copter which makes the level unable to play with Lori.
GAMEPLAY
The gameplay is converted very well, but like already said it has the same glitches than the original Battle1.
AMMO AND OTHER WEAPONS STUFF
The ammo is exactly the same, again no glitches fixed.
USE OF TILESET
The tileset is used in an ok way, tough I really, really miss the background. You could for example have asked in the forum, before you uploaded it. Very few tilebugs, tough.
CONCLUSION
Well, I’m not really sure about that, it’s not great, but it’s also not bad. It’s just…average. I think the eyecandy could have a lot more detail in it, and the glitches should’ve been fixed. All the other things are allright, so here’s your 5.7 this time. Next time it will be better, I guess. :D
Have fun

EDIT
Changes I noticed:
GOOD:
-blaster pu does respawn now
-fast fire instead of the bubble shield
-instead of the copter event which Lori can’t grabb a sucker tubes takes you up now
-I noticed a part where there is a little bit on layer 5
BAD:
-I’m missing some ammo (toaster and ice)
-the room which had sprite background in Battle1 by Cliffy still is empty
-the dead ends still exist
-still too less things on layer 5
The level didn’t change too much at all, but enough to give + 0.3 points as a little thanks that Spazie even read my review I wrote so carefully :) (some dudes seem to not listen what others say at all)
Edited Final Rating: 6.0[This review has been edited by PHT]
This is pretty good. But let me give you some words of advice. When you upload a tileset ripped from a game, you should always include the essentials to every tileset. I’ll explain: Exit sign, text sign, maybe arrows, scenery trigger block, trigger block.. You get the point, there isn’t really much you can do with the tileset, so I don’t blame you there.
But good job, great conversion of the original game.
I still have to fix my JJ2 before I can really test this. But since I used to make levels all the time, this is a golden rule. Never make long filenames, and avoid spaces in the filename. You should reupload this to 1 simple short filename.
Ok it worked, good conversion as far as I can tell, but since It’s just a conversion and not really original, I’ll give you a 7.[This review has been edited by Rapcore]
It seems that it doesn`t have start positions.
Never heard about a good review >S
Good!
Here is the deal:
- Good eyecandy. However, I wouldn’t repeat those background trees so often. (-0.5)
- Level does not have a lot of ammo (-0.5)
- I would put a few carrots in the level (-0.5)
- Level is made for TSF. Next time do it for 1.23 (-0.5)
In total – 10-2=8.0
Good job, man!
this lvl SUX. the lvl way too short and the lvl is a straight one. There is a lot of ammo at the beginning and there is barely any later on. it takes ariund……………………… 50 seconds to finish the whole lvl, and who cares that u r a girl. As far as we know you could be a leprachaun.. no offence. BTW The Odin do you always give bad lvl’s high rating or is it because you like TIGER LILY?
this is one of the best city tilesets I have ever seen I also like the pink tileset……VERY original. enormous tileset and a very nice job!! :)
A fine tileset which is very detailed ad the most popular. It uses all layers and the eye candy is out of this world. Download it NOW!!
good Level
good background
