I’ve just seen my old crappy review for this, bah. >_>
As I recently replayed this great pack, I thought I let the old review dissapear and put a new one, as the old one was a bit messy. :)
Described in one sentence, this pack is the best I’ve ever played.
The player starts in the Central Cave. From there, you need to find the key to the first temple. That, is not easy though. Lots of spikes, bats, moving knifes and other stuff that doesn’t like you. The pack continues in that fashion, open the door for temple 1, get through temple 1 and find a key, return to Central Cave, open temple 2, etc. While you get along, there are several obstacles though, and every level features something new. The high difficulty level makes it a lot of fun to play, while never being unfair. Well, ok, sometimes it looks like it’s unfair and there’s no way to do something without getting hurt. But what looks like it’s unfair doesn’t have to be, trust me. You’ll often find alternative routes to overcome obstacles. And to sum it all up, there is a number of incredibly cool puzzles. Solving those is not always easy, and often does require intensive thinking and numerous tries to get it right. And should you have solved a puzzle, be sure to get murdered by moving knifes, mummies and other evil stuff. But not only is Tomb Rabbit enjoyable to play, it is also enjoyable to look at. The two tilesets (which the author made himself) are not too complicated, but they are used so well that you do not notice that. I couldn’t have made it better, infact every level looks different from the one you were in before. There’s also amazing use of light effects, which gives a cool atmosphere. The story gives the final touch. It is not very deep or complicated, but the player has a reason to do the things he does and the ending is funny. :)
So why don’t I give a ten you may ask. There is one, but only one, thing which is extremely annoying, the out of memory error which keeps you from saving in the Central Cave or the last temple. It is really annoying to be right before the end, have 1 heart left and have to redo it all again, because you couldn’t save. The cause of that error is, as far as I know the too big music files. Both fit very well and sound great, but that doesn’t make up for that stupid error.
So, that is all, download this or you’ll get eaten.
Sometimes it can be very frustrating to get stuck in a place even if you tried several times, but it’s worth it.
I still remember the feeling I had when I first finished this, trust me, it’s worth it in the end.
Surely worth the download, bite me if not.
Haha!! Nim tried to rate his own levels under an alias!!!
the WINNER. Hotels are allowed! NO RULE SAYS THATS IF FORBIDDEN! EVRYBODY SAYS ONLY DONT SUMBIT HOTELS, BECAUSE THE THINK THEY ARE BORING! Remember FiveGoldenStarHotel!? WAS IT BORING!!? NO! Somtimes hotels are NOT boring! So PLEASE DONT SAY “DONT SUBMIT HOTELS”!
By the way, this is a review for spaceboy =P Well Spaceboy, it’s a nice hotel! I see some tile bugs, but the other things are fine. But at the race, you dont allways come by the crates, so you cant get out! :( So it’s like the jail! But there are some houses, grill, shops, bank, FUN and many more. Try it out! Not allways hotels are boring! But, this is also a fight level, so i don’t know what the big deal is!
DOWNLOAD RECOMMEDATION: yes.
HOST THIS: Your decision.
RATING: N/A: I don’t know what to give =P
P.S. REMEMBER Five Golden Star? I can say one thing to the people that read this: I’m ALMOST ready with a hotel that’s like how Five Golden Star is, but with the newest hotel tileset, MUCH extra’s, ? rollercoasters and many more! Also there comes 2 versions of the hotel, but I don’t say what that is… ;) But that will be good!
This review has been edited by WadledeeOk, here I go by picking this level to review.
First impressions: Hmm… A level by Blacky[si] of OLC, which is very nice, so, I review it. Btw, I stop with saying good/very good or so.
Gameplay: Well, here is a big level, with a nice layout. The flow is nice too, the PU may be hard to find at first place but who cares. There is a nice trigger use and placement, with some tubes to make the gameplay even better. The base placement is original, You can’t go to base at the start of a duel. I haven’t seen a level with this before I think, and that’s why I like it.
Conclusion gameplay: Nice use of triggers, good spring placement, alot of tubes, nice layout. Flow is nice but not perfect. And, the level is big too.
Eye candy/Tileset use: The level has alot of eye candy, and I like the way the tileset is used too. That lava is very original, and looks nice too. The level is dark at some places too. Layer 3 and 5 had lots of eye candy, and layer 2 had something too.
Conclusion eye candy/Tileset use: Very nice eye candy, alot of stuff in the layers, excellent tileset use.
Pickup placement: This level has a nice ammo placement, but there is maybe too less here. I don’t know why there is a Blaster PU here, and it doesn’t have generator, but the Blaster PU is not too handy here, so who cares. The level has a full energy in a big red tube. That full energy can only be gotten by falling in it I think. That’s also original here. There are 2 other PU, the RF PU placed at the right side you can only get by falling, but you can get the bouncy PU without falling.
Conclusion pickup placement: Nice ammo placement, but there’s too less ammo here. Original carrot placement, PU placement may be biasing.
Originality: Yes, like I said, a very original level. First: The base placement. Second: The lava by using it for eye candy. Third: The placement of the full energy. And fourth: The music the level uses. So, I give complete points here(8.5).
Fun factor: This level is fun to play. That base placement made it not a level to do a boring straight way. (Actually, it is a straight way.) But, this level is so big, which makes it more fun imo. The level could be more closed, but who cares?
Others: Host this: Yes, I like it, really.
Download: Of course, why not?
Final Rating: 8.4-8.5.
- DarkSonic of XSD, CC and XLM -
Edit: forgot to say that you get the RF and Bouncy PU with gun9.[This review has been edited by da man]
Please DO NOT SUBMIT HOTELS. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. No hotels.

Unfortunately I can’t rate the game, because it crashes way too often. Despite that, I like it.
for the music just type Intro at music
I have no clue what this “game” is for. A bunch of hand drawn carrots are bouncing around the screen. A non-animated Spaz is controlled (however poorly) with the mouse, and if the carrots hit Spaz, they bounce off. Unless they get stuck inside of Spaz, at which point they start spinning around until you move away. If the carrots hit the bottom of the screen, they disappear. Nothing else happens. If all the carrots disappear, Spaz disappears, and you can’t try again. There is no way to win. There is no point to having more than one carrot on the screen. There is no point to playing this game at all.
Graphics, except for the carrot, are all ripped – Spaz from JJ2 and everything else from the graphics libraries.
CONTROL: 2/10 It uses the mouse, and carrots can get stuck inside of you.
PRESENTATION: 1/10 There are no menu, instructions, or anything else.
GAMEPLAY: 2/10 I don’t think I need to say anything more than I already have.
GRAPHICS 3/10 Spaz isn’t animated, the other graphics don’t go too well with him, and the carrot looks bad.
OVERALL 2/10 It’s just not a very good game. Rabbit Wars was better.
A game with an interesting enough while simple concept. It would’ve been better with a title screen or explanation, but it’s still easy to figure out. The only problem is that it doesn’t get harder; once you find out how to play you pretty much can’t lose. It would’ve been better if the carrots sped up.
N/A rating. I usually just copy other people’s ratings, and there are none here.
You told me in your revieuw on my game that you could do better then my game. But this certainly isnt better. You used abaut 3 or 4 triggers to make it. and all the graphics where ripped from jazz or something else. (the carrots or yours..) This game is really dumb. Are you new in games factory?
I wont even rate this…
Good levels. The combination of the goodies and baddies were fine! The difficulty was also good
The bad points: The eye candy was poor and there were some tile bugs. You could increase the amount of the gems.
So this pack deserves a 7.2

Ok, here goes the review: The maze is annoying, eh, I can’t rate because it’s not yours, I hope your friend will do better next time! Whatever his name is!

A medium size level by LRK..
EYE CANDY
The eyecandy is very pretty and very creative the eyecandy is great.
GAME PLAY
The layout is linear but all the jj2ers can play it in duels,2vs2 and have fun time playing it.
AMMO AND CARROT PLACMENT
Those PU.. It`s very easy to find them and It`s in the middle of the way jazzers playing.
Car placment is in the middle and that`s fair for Blue and Red.
THE LEVEL IS GOOD OR NOT?
The level is nice not much nice but nice and the level is pretty good.

I think that you are trying to bump the carrots so they will stay up. You don’t want the carrots to touch the bottom.
There are 4 reviews about this level so I will make it 5 :-)

LVL DESIGN AND EYECANDY AND…STUFF
Lvl design isn’t something really great. It’s a bit boring and the level doesn’t have any story or atmosphere. The eyecandy is also nothing special, but the background layers are fully used and there is also a bit on the foreground. Sadly the foreground is very buggy (layer 3 isn’t used right, if you use layer 3 to hide something, also put tiles around the tiles where you want to hide something —> hope you know what I mean ^^).
GAMEPLAY
Gameplay isn’t too atractive, mostly boring because there are only some turtles, bats and dragons. There are some well hidden secrets, tough. And the food placement is ok. I think the gameplay could have some more action and maybe a puzzle or something.
AMMO AND OTHER WEAPONS STUFF
Ammo placement is ok, there is some bouncer and some fire ammo. You won’t have problems with toasting the enemies with that…But it’s still too much ammo for that less enemies. :-P
BADDIES
The baddies fit into the place (only the Formely A Prince enemies from Cliffy’s castle levels are used). But they are very boring. The only baddys that surprised me sometimes where those bats because they were hiding behind some layer 3 stuff.
HURT EVENTS AND OTHER OBSTACLES
There are some spikes but you can jump over them in one big jump and they won’t desturb you anymore.
TILESETS
The tileset the author used, was the castle thingy from original Jazz Jackrabbit 2: Formely A Prince. I don’t like this tileset too much, because I saw it very often.
USE OF TILESETS
The tileset use was nothing special, there are some tilebugs (mostly with layer 3).
CONCLUSION
Overall, sorry, but it’s too boring. Why? Because the enemies aren’t difficult enough to disturb you (one shoot and they are toast). You should place them on harder places. Also the level is boring because the eyecandy is nothing special and it’s all very linear (put something unusual next time). That’s all, nothing more to say.
Final Rating? I think I will give a 5.
HAVE FUN
WHAT IS THIS!!!? Okey, you can send the flying carrots in another direction with Spaz. But GIVE MORE INFO WHAT IT MEANS! WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO!! Also, when all the carrots are out of the field, you go to another level I think. But in the second level you CANT SEE THE CARROTS OR THE MOUSE! Please fix that!
I can’t rate it, because I dont know what it means. Give more info. But what I have seen is nice.
DOWNLOAD RECOMMEDATION: Your decision
PLAY THIS: Maybe
Here’s yet another “super quick” review.
GAMEPLAY:
From what I can tell, the layout is too linear for my tastes. The gameplay is mostly run back and forth from base to base. I just don’t really like the way the routes are. This level feels lopsided with the way that the left side is narrow with short passages while the right is more spacious with longer routes. The flow is decent though it could be better such as in the several places where I have to jump while running. And the level doesn’t have anything new in it. I’d be lucky if I could recall if this level even existed in a few months.
EYE CANDY:
The eye candy isn’t too different from most levels that use this tileset. My only complaints would be with some of the ground tiles in the 3rd layer that poke out in front of players. It looks a little odd, but it’s no big deal. Also, the buildings don’t add much to the atmosphere; they pretty much get in the way more than anything. In addition, I found the changing lighting effects to be irritating. Still, the eye candy is decent.
CARROT AND AMMO PLACEMENT:
The full energy carrot and the 3 powerups are placed well enough, although it’s pretty ordinary and dull the way it is. The ammo placement, while not hideous, isn’t that great. Most of it’s right on the ground, thus encouraging more simple running base to base. I suppose it could work out, but I didn’t find it particularly fun. In fact, I didn’t find most of this level fun.
HOST THIS OFTEN?
Depends on how much you like linear levels. I probably wouldn’t host this myself. 7.2 because I’m a nice guy, and the level isn’t horrible anyway.
Hmmm…noone rated this yet so I’ll do now

LVL DESIGN AND EYECANDY AND…STUFF
Lvl Design is ok, but nothing new. It all works but it gets boring after some time because the level is very linear. I also think the pack needs a story. Eyecandy, is also nothing really amazing but not bad. There are much layer 3 bugs. If you do a layer 3 hidden passage, then also put tiles around the part where you walk in. Don’t know how to tell this…
M masked blocks
UM unmasked blocks
B blocks (doesn’t matter if masked or not)
Layer 4:
MMMMMMMMMM
UMUMUMUMUM
MMMMMMMMMM
Layer 3:
BBBBBBBBBB
BBBBBBBBBB
BBBBBBBBBB
Get it? Sorry, I’m not a good explainer :-)
Okay, let’s continue…There are two bosses, one in level 2 (Bubba) and one in level 3 (forgot his name). In level 2 as I wanted to fight Bubba, I lost my ammo at the start of the battle and had to kill him with my blaster (put ammo crates around like in level 3). Oh, I forgot, sometimes you have to search keys for doors (I’m not talking about trigger crates). This is well done.
GAMEPLAY
Gameplay is a bit boring sometimes, because there isn’t any story or something original (for example you could use one of the angels who gives you a mission or something). There is mostly enough ammo (except at the end of level 2). The enemies fit well into the place.
AMMO AND OTHER WEAPONS STUFF
Ammo placement is ok, but like mentioned before I missed some ammo at the end of level 2.
BADDIES
The baddies fit well into the place, but sometimes there are too much of them. Luckily I played with Lori (hehe) laughs and kicked all the skeletons in one rush :-p
HURT EVENTS AND OTHER OBSTACLES
On some places there are very fast moving platforms which you have to use. I mostly got really angry about them because I played 15 minutes until I got up :-)
TILESETS
The author used the Heaven tileset from Agama (one of the best tilesets ever —> Top 3 Tileset Charts). Well choosen.
USE OF TILESETS
The tileset use is also very well. There are some foreground bugs (like mentioned before) but that’s all. The rest is pretty good.
CONCLUSION
Overall ok level pack with a good tileset, (mostly) good ammo + enemy placement and okay Fun Factor. Hmm…I’m not sure about giving a download reccomendation or not… Decide on your own.
