COOL TILESET!
The tileset is good drawn and not too hard to use. It has also textured bg (stolen from psych tileset by Nick Stadler ;P). There is also some stuff for layer 3 and 5. At the moment I can’t use it because I am working on my Forests Of Dreams episode but it’s really cool tileset. + Bonus for those blue “things” from Comander Keen 4 (I hated those as I played Commander Keen :]). I don’t feel like making the review much longer. All I have to say is: Well Done.
PROS: good drawn, stuff for layers 3 and 5, commander keen thingys.
CONS: like mentioned in chair’s review textured bg isn’t too easy for newbies (like me
;->)
FINAL RATING: 6.5
THE FINAL GRADE: C-
DOWNLOAD RECCOMENDATION: maybe
PHT
EDIT: now I saw Traft’s rating and was shocked. OH MY GOD! I’M AN OVERRATER!!!
Then I looked again and….well, maybe 7.7 is really a bit too high. alltough I think 4.7 is a bit too low for this.
A 6.5 fits it for me
sry labrat.
PS: cause I don’t get mad on you you shouldn’t get mad on me ;-P

I’m not a big fan of CTF levels, but I find this one’s not too bad at all. :)

Aaaah… the magic of the JCS 1.23 patch. This level is very mediocre.
Perhaps a little long for a race level. I liked the water, but the tileset used wasn’t very nice. :\ And the eyecandy was nothing special. Still, it’s a pretty good level.
Very good race level. Only real drawback is I find it’s a little long to be a race.
Wow! Awesome tileset. Although, I find it’s kinda hard to use. :\
True, true, it is an odd boss, but I doubt anyone would want to use this. :P
Too short and bad selection of enemies. But I suppose it’s not the worst for your first level. Let’s just leave it at that, I’m not in the mood for anymore criticism
Not enough enemies and the level is just way too short, I mean, it’s okay to have a semi-short level but this one is just ridiculous. However, the tileset use wasn’t bad at all, but that barely pulls the rating any higher.
AWESOME tilesets. I’m not into the mood for a review, so I’ll just leave it with that. :P
(Sorry, that sort of behavior is unacceptable. Unsupported rating removal edit. ~Violet)[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]
Whee, Labratkid uploaded new tileset, lets review:
TILES ADDED / EYECANDY TILES:
Wow! This tileset has all tiles what good tileset needs. Waterfall,Ground cave tiles, mushrooms, etc.I also love that mushroom (from commander keen4)
and textured background is good too.
Only bad thing is that background layer eyecandy tiles (two kinds of mountains )can be bit hard to JCS newbies.Nothing else to say. =p
Pros:Good eyecandy tiles, etc.
Cons:can be bit difficult to use by JCS newbies.
Rating:8
EASE OF USE:
This tileset is really to use, when i downloaded this tileset, i went to my JCS to look at it, (almost 8 minutes ago) and i know how to use it.But, there is a bad point, like i said in Eyecandy section, those mountains can be
bit hard to use (by JCS newbies)
Pros:Using this is easy.
Cons:can be bit hard to JCS newbies.
Rating:7.7
DETAIL / QUALITY OF GRAPHICS:
Okay, lets say that detail awesome.
Those mountains, (for layer 4.) look like they would be from Tileset master or something.Hmm, and lets say that this set reminds me of “Rocky Roads” and “Earthworm world” .
But, there are bad things. I think that those mushrooms should have done better, but it is still very good set.
Pros:Graphics are good.
Cons:okay, some tiles should have done better.
Rating:8
MASKING:
masking is very goodly masked, nad i have no complaints.Thigies are rightly masked, and mask message is good.Only bad thig is that those mushrooms are weirdly masked, or at least i think so.
Pros:Good masking mostly.
Cons:mushrooms.
Rating:7.7
COLORS:
the whole tileset uses brownish color. But, luckily diffrent kinds of mushrooms were included, and a waterfall, they will rise my rating number. Anyway, i think there is too many tiles what are brown…
Pros:Good colors…
Cons:Brown,brown…
Rating:8
MY CONCLUSION:
This is very good set, make more tilesets, Labratkid.
DOWNLOAD RECOMMEDATION: YES!
BUILD WITH THIS: YES!
FINAL RATING:8 ( 8 + 7.7 = 7.8 + 8 = 8 + 7.7 = 7.8 + 8 = 8)
EDIT: I decided to take another look to your tileset. i saw some tiles, what i dind’t saw first time. Horever , those tiles rise my rating number. Congrualations.
EDIT2:OMG, i forget masking!
EDIT3:I added new section to my review, Colors.

This is a fairly average tileset. Some parts I liked, others I didn’t. The warp horizon background looked a little odd, and the tileset itself looked a little rushed. But I thought it was a fairly creative and original tileset and it looks fairly easy to use. 5 from me.
Argh, I’m going to reupload in a few minutes, because there is a palette bug that makes poles and the textured background in 8bit work incorrectly. Please download the updated version if you have all ready downloaded the level.
Edit: Okay, it’s reuploaded. Now, download it. =P[This review has been edited by labratkid]
PHT: The textured background is a cloud filter in Photoshop. Since I don’t have Photoshop, I had Spazzyman make it for me with the click of a button, and I edited it. I didn’t take that for Psych. I did, however, take the mountains from Psych. Thank you for reviewing.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
Winner, yes, the waterfall was ripped from JJ1, and, no, it’s not from Diamondus. I don’t know where it’s from, but it’s not Diamondus ;-P I think it’s Crystalis, but I’m too lazy to look.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
Trafton, the hills are not meant to go from 180 degrees to a steep angle. You should usually start out with a slope that’s not steep, and move onto steeper ones.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
Neon, if it’s the same, why is there a 4.0 point difference in your ratings? ;-P[This review has been edited by labratkid]
This was a good version of JazzForce. The first version didn`t work but this version does.
Finally, a good CTF level. Let`s start:
Gameplay: was good. good spring placement and suck placement.
Eyecandy: was just good. There was some nice eyecandy in here.
Pickup placement: good. There was good ammo and the powerups were placed good too. You need to shoot with gun 9 to get one at each side. And the seeker powerup was in the middle, good place to put it. The Full NRG carrot was at a good place too.
My rating is:7.5
-da man
It’s for nothing, I think.
Time to start a review without rating.
Level 1: I already gave a review on this level. See in First level…Of my DAD rate please!
Level 2:
Gameplay: Not good it goes up and down at some places.
Eyecandy: You tried some but there were many objects in layer 4 and its ugly in the bottom side of the level.
Enemies placement: Too less enemies it`s too easy to complete it in that way
Pickups placement: This was very bad. There were way too amny gems and carrots and almost no ammo.
Others: way too many tile bugs.
Level 3:
Gameplay: still bad. You must run to get up at some places. And you still must go up and down.
Eyecandy: at least a few things, but still bad. No layers only 3,4 and 8 used.
Enemy placement: not good. Too many monkeys there could be more enemy types.
Pickup placement: Still the same. Many carrots and gems. But at least, there was ammo here.
Others: Still the many tile bugs.
now to end the review. No rating because no one does it because you didn`t make it.
