Well well, something different.
Yet another one of Violet’s tilesets. This one, however, is themed underwater. No, sadly no fooruman.
This tileset features all you need to make a good level, and maybe a bit more. It has some nice eyecandy, although it can look a bit repetative at times. No complaints at all, really, except one: the sucker tubes are bad bad bad bad. It pains me to look at them. Beside the tubes, however, this is a very worthy tileset. download it.
This tileset is definately interesting. As many pointed out it looks hard to use, but to me, it doesn’t seem that hard to use (Don’t get me wrong, it still is a harder than most). The tileset has above average eyecandy and it looks very nice when it’s all put together. Some of it is a bit…I don’t know the word..But…It is…. Overall this is definately a good tileset and I am already trying to use it. Good work Violet and keep making tilesets!
(BTW, Download reccomendation)
I would give this a higer rating, if it wasen’t because the tiles are set up in such a un-user friendly way. As Trafton noticed.
I hate the style of the tileset, it’s too “funky” with the colors, and expectelly if you overuse like in Violet’s example level.
The background for layer 8 is ugly, it can be made to a textured background throught, but it’s horrible.
A last negative thing is the sucker tubes, they suck. They don’t fit the tileset in anyway, their colors are screaming and dosen’t make a part of the tileset.
After I looked on this tileset for a while, I got a couple of ideas that could make it look better than Violet’s example level.
Overall, this is the only recent “under-water” theme tileset, and you should download it.
A funny level. The eyecandy is tested by somebody? Well, he dit that good, because the eyecandy is good. At some points you have one long piece, I only have to hold down the fire button and the shift button. You have also put down a new enemie in Diamondus I see, a Floating Lizard and a Raven! It’s nice when I see new enemies at titlesets, because that adds fun.(Only Norm Turtles and Bees get’s boring, doensn’t it?) The layer 3 is used well, at that long piece I say at layer 3 another long piece, I like that! Only the level is a bit easy, a textboard says:,,Jump!”
well, I only have to jump and I am on the next part. And another textboard says:,, Where is the exit, find it fast!” Then I just walkt to the right and yep there as the exit. But the end boss is nice,(Devan robot boss)at the beginning he said:,, Moo” What a cow he is, isn’t he? I also like when you put the year in your level when it was maked, then I can see if Jazz Jackrabbit buyers have imprufed there levels. Well, you have realy done that!
A 6.5 will be a bit low, but the download is reccomend.
Hello, I liket this level. I now will say why.
EYECANDY
The eyecandy is too much, far too much. I don’t now what is the sprite layer and what is background or foreground. That’s bad. And also the diamonds in the wall, don’t use to much.
ITEMS
Standard, the ammo is fine, only when you want to collect coins, you be a time bessy, because there are only a few of them. But that’s good. The carrots are also difficult to find with all that eyecandy, but the more difficult to find the better. Isn’t it? :)
GAMEPLAY
Well, the level not get’s boring when I play it for a while, but again, the eyecandy makes it difficult. You can hop at all places. But that eyecandy has one advantes: You can hide very good in this level. That’s funny.
OVERALL
EYECANDY: 1.5/10
ITEMS: 2.5/10
GAMEPLAY: 4/10
Count it up and it will be a 7.5 and a download reccomend.[This review has been edited by spazz]
Nice level.
Only not put food in it, because when the enemie get’s a Sugar Rush, then your dead meat, for the rest it is fine.
Although I expected a rip of the Donkey Kong Country level “Coral Capers” when I downloaded this, I was pleasantly surprised. The set ia big with all the necessary colours and mask messages. ;P To conclude, a 7.7 for you.
Yesh, I love the example level. ;p
It’s a very good set, but as Trafton said, difficult to use. I won’t be using it myself, but I hope some people use it, as it’s a very good tileset. ;)
EDIT: grammar and whatnot[This review has been edited by KJAZZ]
I wonder what this level will be…
Well, it seems that this is the level I landed on. Time for a review.
Well, a coral tileset. I knew someone was going to make one sooner or later. Anyways, the set isnt what I expected, but its cool.
It has tons of eyecandy, fish for foreground, coral for backround etc. The color of the tiles isnt the best, but only sprite colors are used..It has lots of different settings, and violet included black tiles, which are important for underwater tilesets if you want to make some parts of your level look“deep” because ambient lighting doesnt work underwater. There are many features worth seeing here (Corals, the ship, the dopefish etc), and the main thing which forces me to downgrade my mark by some (either than the colors) is that the tileset is as userfriendly as a 5000peice jigsaw puzzle. If you see the tileset in JCS, you’ll see what i mean. IT is very possible to make a good level with this tileset, sadly the level will have to be underwater, unless it’s some kind of strange level or something. Also, the basic tiles are here (suckerz, blocks, hooks, signs, poles, hurt events) There arent many animations, but there are some here, like those green sealiles or whatever they are. My conclusion to the set is that it is fun to use, difficult, but has the elements needed to create a good level, with many different settings. It may take you some time getting used to it though, but if you can get used to sets like Metal Mania, you can get used to this one as well. My final rating is 8.2, and a download reccomended.
I cant play it, I don’t have the titleset…
Nice level.
The music is also nice.
DOWNLOAD RECCOMDEND.
Okay, now about the level, your first level you say, well you must go on with building levels because this one is realy good!
EYECANDY:
Well at some points the eyecandy is good. For example: on the grass there are standing flowers and that strange long green thing. The vines stuff is not so good. At one point, the vine just stopped, and the other point the vine nice connect with that strange long plant thing. That cave part is also a little bad. I can’t explane it, you have too look for yourself. But the eyecandy is, for your first level, rather good.
ITEMS:
Power-ups are okay, also enouf weapons, but you can reach the power-ups too easy. For example: there is just liging a Seeker power- up on the floor. Next time make blocks ore something before it. There is also a warp very difficult too find! But then the reward is okay: weapon 5 ammo +15 and 2 weapon crates of gun 2 and also a full heal carrot.
GAMEPLAY:
The gameplay is a little long, you have too touch first the Trigger Zone and then you can get too the base. And the level is also a little long. I came from base too base in 5 minutes! But for the rest, it’s okay, I think.
I THINK WITH A 7 FOR YOUR FIRST LEVEL, AND A CTF LEVEL IS REALY DIFFICULT TO BUILD, YOU MUST BE VERY HAPPY.
THIS WAS MY 100TH REVIEWWHAT IS THIS???
IT ARE ONLY MUSIC FILES AND 2 TITLESETS!!!!! I WILL EDIT MY REVIEW IF YOU PUT THE LEVES IN THE ZIP FILE!!!!
My best lap was 1:12:53! Thats only 2 seconds away form your record!
Now about the level. With one thing I have too use the fly code, because I was Spaz, now thats bad. You must be Jazz or Lori too play this level. The eyecandy dit very well, the background is funny. You see tose strange men floating in space! Layer 8 is basic, only space with a view stars. The gameplay, well as I said before it’s impossble with Spaz, but if your are Jazz or Lori, the gameplay is good. You must watch out for the spring! With one point I bounct and bounct, with that you can lose a lot of time. The blocks in the way arent buttstomp blocks but speed blocks. I say this because there may be complains. Now the last stage: the items. Well, not very items, only at the end of the level. Let me think what was it? Eh, a couple of fastfire and many TNT. What do you need TNT for in a race level? Why don’t you just put freezers for the springs and for the eniemie?
I WANT TO GIVE IT AN 9 BUT YOU CAN’T PLAY IT WITH SPAZ AND THAT VERY PITTY, BUT IN OVERAL IT’S STILL AN 8 AND THE DOWNLOAD IS RECCOMEND.
P.S.: If you are bored and want a fast race level with your friend download it!
I will give it an 2 because it has nice colors in it, and yes wy there ins’t a example level included? I given it an 2 because I aslo like MEZ03.
Well it is handy, more I have not too say…

Yes, I fully agree with Moonblaze.
All the pictures are actully the same.
There are all with the Jazz Jackrabbit 2 mark and Spaz on the left, Jazz in the middle and Lori on the right. The only this wath is diffirent is that the background is diffirent. And again wath Moonblaze said some of the pictures are too small for my desktop. I have not try them all, but I think that very big one will fit in my desktop, but the graphigs are very low. If I shall rate it will be a 2 because in the picture Spaz fall ore something and Jazz look too Spaz with that “What are you doing” look. But, if you have a rather small desktop, download and see of it fits.
I like this. I really like this. The fact it’s TSF detracts me a little, but this is a simple, yet GOOD tileset with three long, medium challenging levels to show just what this tileset can do. The slime and city backgroud eyecandy are good, and this tileset works for me. But why PINK?
