The question was: Homp. Homp. Homp.
The answer is: Homp. Homp. Homp.
Conclusion: THIS ROCKS! WAHAHAH. Ahem.
“…”
That’s about all I have to say when I saw it…
Apart from the fact that I hate rips (oh, sorry, I’ll call it a ‘conversion’), this isnt a rip from the best looking tileset either.
The ripped stuff look fine (practically the whole tileset), but the textured background doesn’t work in 8-bit. I almost rated it badly for not tiling properly, but that was a little mistake from my behalf. The example level showed it tiling wrong, and only on closer inspection did I notice the extra few tiles throughout the set. Just as a tip, next time make it tile correctly in the example level.
Also, there isnt much of a difference in the tiles used. I know its only one tileset in an episode, but thats the bad part, some more couldve been stacked in and made it look a lot more interesting. Yes yes I know you only intended to make the one tileset, but man, giving it a bit more work would’ve helped a lot yaknow, the sets pretty tiny already and a problem with space wasn’t an issue.
Apart from that, I must congratulate the set on having a few ‘additional eye candy’ items to play around with, not to mention the lava animation and some useful ‘key’ triggers. Too bad those come with more problems. Well, there are NO diagonals. That really hinders gameplay and design capablities of a possible level. Apart from that the tileset lacks a load of event tiles like vines, poles, sucker tubes, EXIT SIGNS, arrows etc.
Msg to URJazzCC:
Oh, I get your logic, so you’re saying that the tileset did what it is supposed to do (do a total rip from a game), then it would get a 1-10 depending on how well it did it, and since its near impossible to go wrong with a rip unless you cant make custom palettes all ‘converted’ should get 10 or near 10 ratings. That’s a bad logic if you ask me. Don’t expect us to follow it, we’re welcome to use our own logic, and I would agree with Craccoboy and Soulfire (except his part on modifying the main rating to his own wishes) on their logic used when rating this.
I suggest if you’ve played Hocus Pocus, you go back and play that again, because this is JJ2, and here we do things our way.
Yeah, a COOL movie. :)
No fear. I’m editing these levels with bad guys and , if i can find it, appropriate music. Please stop the reviews. I promise V2 will be much better. Honest.[This review has been edited by thekirbymaster]
EDIT: Yeah, these levels sucked horribly HORRIBLY bad… not that anyone will see this, but still. I was stupid then, and much wiser now. Not that I’m gonna revive this project of course. It should stay where it is: dead.
V-v-v.
This is a very crazy level pack by BlackRaptor.
The race levels are ok, but you can make better eyecandy in it.
the single playerlevels **. It uses the houses ok, but the sewers are bad.
I think you must play this with Jazz, AND downt download them. Only if you like crazy packz.
Argh. Another barfing tileset by Spoy. It0s an oddo tileseto based on the movie Blode. Do not download this, no eyecandy, and too much jacsvs. bx],vcaavcvksfvc, vcsas. You know it? Sorry Spoy, dont download this!
This rocks. Six levels of nice winter entertaiment lolol its summer here
busy
A 9.2 for the very very well gameplay and eyecandy and etc. SO DOWNLOAD THIS NOW! roar
This level has a very high fun factor. While it doesn’t really have amazing eyecandy or streamlining (both are good, but not exceptional) it gets an 8. Good job! A fun level that deserves a download recommendation.
It’s a bad idea to do that, since it hurts your rating. I’ll give you a 5.5 since it brings back so many memories. :)
This level is fairly good, but I won’t give it a rating, as you did not include a tileset. Please reupload it with the tileset included.
The above comments sum it up.
Cell, make better quality levels, not more levels. :p
Honestly, this level is average in every way.
This level pack is pretty good. It’s an interesting and fairly challenging play, though it has some eyecandy problems.
This level is OK, but quite a few things just don’t look right. Pretty good gameplay, though.
What more can I say not already said?
This level is barely above average. I can’t recommend it, but download if you want.
Cornflake is an annoying tileset, but this level is pretty good. The tileset was used well, and I recommend it as a download. Nice job, Violet!
Some have actually gone to the extent to call the single player genre dead. This is in no way true, as is exhibited by Chandie’s fantastic pack here. All of the levels are very entertaining, though Bloxinus was not quite as entertaining as the others. A great job, though.
This is a very good conversion of the old Apogee hit, Hocus Pocus. It contains most of the tiles from Green Killers sets although i noticed tiles from Hocus 2 that were not in this set.
D/L reccomendation: Yes, especialy if you like Hocus Pocus :)
