This tileset IS very small, but it still has just about every tile from the originally level! It’s missing the BIG crashed rocket with fire coming out of it. That’s the only thing missing I can think of, so I give this a 9.2. (I also took off some since it didn’t have any added sign tiles, or block tiles, exit tiles, etc.
Download? Yep!
This pack contains five single player levels, each with their own tileset, presumably made by the author because he says “Do the tilesets need mor eyecandy?”.
They contain lots of hurt events, some villains, a lot of annoying places, and aren’t really very fun.
The graphics could use work as well. For example, in the first two levels, the layer 4 walls are also background eyecandy, and that’s annoying. And things that do one thing one time are other things another time, making it hard to keep track of anything.
As I think I already said, there are lots of annoying spots, bringing down the otherwise ok design.
The gameplay involves moving slowly, knowing that half the tiles probably hurt, and having to go in secrets to find the next trigger crate. This got paticularly annoying in levels 2 and 4.
The story, I think, involves some area where everything has been hit by a lethal dose of radiation. Correct me if I’m wrong.
¬_¬
what’s this spy that popup each time I open jazz2 now?
No eyecandy, no weapons, no gameplay.
Umm… There’s so many mistakes here… If this uses the egypt tileset, then why isn’t it included? I have it myself, but also, this isnt for 1.23, its for TSF or something. And the tileset used isn’t Beach. Please try to upload something that actually would work…
I like it, I really like it.
But where did you get the music when you enter the boss area in the last level?
well you first single pack
THis is a verr nice single lvls
maschine is geat to play lvl 1 and 2 to
by lvl 1 a boss i give a 7.7
W0000pee! At last I can change my name when playing! (-D No more going in and out of servers just to put an § in yer name. (-D
One reaaaaaaaaaaally nasty bug is: you can join private servers. Plz fix this, JustDoIt (or whatever yer name is). Or else everyone’s privacy will be lost. Oh, and you can change yer character in the middle of the game too, that can sometimes be classified as cheating, you know. :-P
Despite these bugs, I’m still gonna give JazzTool an 8 because…er…thinks…argh! I can’t think of anything…runs away…
Argh! We’re under siege!! Man the battlestations!! Er…nevermind…
Medieval Melee (or should I say Medieval Mayhem?) is a fairly good battle lvl.
When I looked at the lvl in JJ2 I expected something much better than a very linear lvl with far too many carrots but, since the author has been away for quite a long time it’s really no wonder why his lvls are a bit “rusty”. ;-D
The eyecandy of the lvl is nothing special. It’s sometimes boring but the Castle tilesets have always boring so it isn’t exactly Bartman’s fault. The gameplay is much better though. There are almost no dead ends and the corridors are sensibly placed. Weapons placement is also fine.
Since this is such a small lvl, this is all I’ve got to say about it. I’ll give Medieval Melee a 7.
Cheers,
White Rabbit.
Yeah, I agree. The program works great, and is sort of a combo between XJJ2 and JazzED. You can list and join servers with it, and the program automaticly chooses the right version of JJ2 needed to join the server, which is much beter then with XJJ2, in which you had to do that manualy. You can also change your name and fur colors, like with JazzED. I see only one thing missing in this program: abillity to host servers yourself, and change the name of your server. Also, the space and no colon option from JazzED isn’t in it. Maybe an idea for a second version? I was a bit undecided between a 7.7 and an 8.0. Don’t ask.
I didn’t play this level actually, but you shouldn’t say things like Pokémon is for babies,or things like that.(I’ve been a fan some time ago,as well).
And everybody has to practice making levels,I wasn’t this good from the beginning!
PS:Download my levels!
Looks like a great tool to me… I can get the list very fast for TSF, 1.23 and CC. The player edit thing was also great. It has plenty of features and a refreshing ping (Yay!)
The only thing was the same bug as with with Xjj2: when you join a game you have default fur colors.
Also, it would be handy if this thing could host.
Keep it up!
I forgott: the app is beta. I’ve tested it on win2000 only so i don’t know on which windows-version it runs.
And if you think it’s not self-explaining, let me know and i will write a short readme.
I’m to lazy to review every level so I’ll give an overall impression. w00t.
This pack is definetly one of the best Treasure packs in a (big :) while. The levels are great, include enough events, original eyecandy. The only thing is that the navigation wasn’t that easy sometimes. SO overall: DOWNLOAD NOW!
First: Now I understand why everyone nagged me when I didn’t place SP start positions in my Battle levels :D
Review. The level is rather big, with much original eyecandy usage. Sometimes there’s a little glitch when you used the corridors anyway. There are too much carrots in the level, even a invinciblity-carrot. NEVER put that in battle levels! It’s quite unfair.
The layer 6+7 usage is nice. It gives the really castle-feeling and every castle level should have that feeling ;). The ammo placement is good, maybe a bit too much. There are way too much dead ends. Altough I personally think every dead end is one too much :P.
Overall this is a nice level with some eyecandy glitches and too much carrots.
Download? If you like battle.
Rating? 6.5
Thank Aiko here for making this, due the fact that I got sick of going to regedit, trying to figure out the exact color I wanted for solids, having to go to the chara map for the no colon, and all that junk. Also, servers were very annoying to me. Plus, with XP, I have more symbols! Mao hao hao!
Ok, this is one level, copied four times into different tilesets, with no real changes other then that.
The levels start with a start position in a small room. You get thrown into a tube, and a ceilling spring, which puts you in a small passage leading to the main battle room.
The main battle room is around 10×10 or so (I didn’t bother to check) and is composed of a bunch of blocks. This type:
[]    []
[]
[]    []
Each of the blocks has a generating bouncy ammo. The levels use layers 4 and 8, and that’s it.
I’ll give this a 3.2, but only because I’m feeling generous today.[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]
THIS IS THE BEST TILESET EVER SEE
a 10
Fairly good level. I like the way you used the tileset mainly. Yeah it is a bit too open, but its still nice. I don’t like cramped levels, but thats just my opinion… The weapon placement is nice, but the powerups were a bit too easy to get. Overall nice job and I do recomend this to all who like CTF levels which are good. =D
