Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Online

“Toxic Landscape” is another release from Cell’s little dutch level production plant. It has 120*60=7200 tiles and uses the very good looking Muckamok (you know, the tileset from JJ1) conversion from Haze.
And Cell definitely made the best of it: the layout is very open and seems to be playable as hell (promises fun CTF matches). Weapon placement is great, only the full energy carrots are quite questionable (personally, i don’t like them at all). The layer work is fine, there wasn’t really much more that Cell could do with the 330 tiles of the tileset. It still looks beautiful.
The background ST3 module is “Introspection” by Necros^PM. Need i say more?
So…DOWNLOAD NOW! I love this level (and i award it with unbelievable EiGHT points, even if some of the kids above really tend to overrate all kind of stuff lately).

“Deserted Debris” is a very good CTF level using grandmaster Blade’s awesome “Wasteland” tileset. It is 150*64 tiles large.
The layout (including event placement) is very neat (well, some may argue about the food events, but i dont’t consider that a major problem :-), open and it’s easy to navigate your rabbit. The CTF routes are neither too short nor too long
Regarding the eyecandy: it’s really worth mentioning here…the way the author used the different structures with their “steelish” look is quite original and looks cool. Good work, F
The Impluse Tracker made background music called “ACID.IT” isn’t of bad quality either (au contraire!) and it fits the atmosphere of the level pretty good, i think.
Overall, “Deserted Debris” is A MUST DOWNLOAD for all Jazzers; esspecially the CTF fans will love it. That’s true J2LC quality.

Well the levels are very great, really nice to battle in. Although there are hundreds of Death-Ends. They are everywhere I would fix them if I was you. And erm, well I especially liked the Snow level :) It looks very nice, Chemical Blah blah… is also a nice level. Well Done!

Yup!>CelL< is the king of the CTF levels. (He make only CTf levels ;D) Anyway, this level rulezzz. A bit small, but okay. I think this nice level recieves a 8.

One very small tileset, which I don’t like(the black-white one).

Yeah! Another great CTF level. You could make again battle levels :P Anyway this level rulez. The eyecandy is fantastic. Ammo placement is good placed. Level is bit small and not so sensational :P But who cares. Well I think its worth a eight. Good work.

Guess nobody will ever see this review, because everybody has this tileset for ages (including me). But though:
Great, but hard to use. Because the tileset is overall so great only -0.3 for the hard-to-useness.

Your level is empty…No textured background, as Waz said…
No ammo…every level, CTF, battle or treasure, HAS TO HAVE SOME AMMO. It improves playing pleasure.
And something else : the animating tile you used with the different colored blocks for your level…It’s just(no offence)…Rookielike…Horrible.
Next time, spend more time on your levels.
More “ground” at different hights, ammo, irregular floor, etc. And ONE flag base per team.

What’s this? A level? Sure it is, but not a good one… it’s even a BAD one.
Sorry, but I really don’t like this.
Two bases for each team. Very “empty” level and not even a textured background.

A 2.5 is REALLY the highest I can give this…

Nope, I don’t play it either, but dunno, I always make this patch for every Jazz game, I hate waiting around 8-9 seconds to retrieve the list.

THe wrongness of giving 10s is that it’s hardly every fair. If 10 people give a 4 (or one, whatever) and you give a 10 something’s wrong IMO. Ofcourse it could be that you like the level more but the difference between 4 and 10 is too big to let the rating be fair. And don’t include messages to FQuist in your reviews. PM him.

Okay, now my review. I can be short: It’s bad. I won’t duel about the concept being great or not (I don’t like it anyway) but the level really is sucky. The background tiles aren’t placed in a textured way so they doesn’t fit together and the other layers (except layer 4 ofcourse) aren’t used so there’s no good eyecandy. The level is WAY too empty. Very much empty space and no platforms, just a sucker tube that leads you to the bases and only two crates of ammo.
The tileset (Mez01)isn’t even used good, only some types of blocks are used and for some odd reason the tileset file in the zip was called Dang.j2t so it replaced my original Dan.j2t and I CANT PLAY ONE OF THE DANG LEVELS BECAUSE THEY ARE AWFULLY MESSED UP NOW! Everyone has Mez01 already so WHY THE HECK call it Dang.j2t and put it in the zip? grr.

2.0 is much enough for this.

Good selection of levels, and more varied than the CTF pack (more different creators), all I can say is, if you havent downloaded it yet, download it now.

I prefer One base ;) The lvl is higly a 4. I think this gametype wont work in this lvl. Because Red players can end their other red base and can score/lose points. So It it will be a bit messy, if you know what I mean.
