Alexander Brandon (@FunkyRustic on Twitter) the guy that made the music for Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and the never released Jazz Jackrabbit 3D has released a remix version of the well known track ‘Labrat’ from JJ2. He released the new track “Back to the Lab” for his upcoming album “Just Fun Custom”; it was commissioned by community member sAlAmAnDeR.

You can find the track and listen to it here!

Permalink Poll about characters January 18th 2018

First, the previous poll:

Overall, which multiplayer gamemode do you prefer?
Battle 27 votes (57%)
Capture the Flag 20 votes (42%)
Total votes: 47

That makes sense. There are significantly more Battle levels than CTF levels, after all, even if the ratio is not the same.

Next up let’s talk about playable characters. JJ2 has several of them already: Jazz, Spaz, and Lori, plus the frog and two different birds. But in today’s game climate maybe that’s not enough? Arjan and CliffyB’s Lawbreakers, for example, boasts eighteen different-ish characters. So if JJ2 added a new full-featured character, who should it be?

Next to the original games (some playable) you can also find almost all of the official Jazz Jackrabbit merchandise on display. Some of the items have, after the original release of the game, never seen the light of day. Definitely a must see for Jazz Jackrabbit fans!

The other collection that is on display is the Unique collection of Dutch Games by Boys without Brains, Davilex, Triumph Studios, Two Tribes, Project Two Interactive and more!

February 18th of 2018 more active (and some inactive) Jazz Jackrabbit players are going to visit the museum in Zoetermeer (The Netherlands). This day will feature some really great surprises for Jazz Jackrabbit fans. Let’s meet up!

All from the personal collection of Anne “PC-KING” Bras. Normally displayed at the Bonami Games & Computers Museum.[/more]

Permalink JCS Awards 2017 January 1st 2018

Source: JCF

It’s that time of year again – the one every JCSer eagerly awaits! It’s been a real rollercoaster of a year, with a fairly strong start followed by a long period of little productivity, and a sudden burst of life in the last month following the re-release of JJ2 on GOG. On the whole, I’d say it’s been a good year, and I’m confident we’ll have much to look forward to in 2018.

For those of you new to the community, the JCS awards are an annual event where members of the community reflect on the best releases from the past year and vote for their favourites. Also as sort of a goodwill gesture, everyone who votes will be put into a prize raffle to win an Epic Bundle GOG code!
