Looks very… paper. The animation is nice, but I’ll give it a 2.7 for having half the screen just plain gray.

Nice, but the pixels were quite large. There are programs that will take
images and make them higher resolution, I think. Overall, the tilesets are
very good, even if the red one is a little painful to the eyes. This deserves an
8 out of 10!

A fairly good CTF level, it just needs some more eyecandy. Isn’t pier47 a
clothing store?

Actually, RSPSS, there are four colors, counting the transparent one.

Sure, there’s hundreds, but this is the only game I’ve made that’s glitch-free!
Sorry for reviewing my own level, but I wanted to add that I think the
maximum score in the game (or the highest I could get) is 55400.

The tiles were good, but the masking was very poor. The tileset’s mask is
supposed to be smoother than the tiles, like a bumpy platform should be
masked perfectly smooth to prevent getting stuck. Oh, and Electric is right,
don’t rate your own tilesets (especially with an 8).

I’ll be mean and rate this one level at a time:

Level 1 (Creative name): It starts out with a few text messages, and then it
says “jump on the switch to choose a path” or something. There is no switch.
Theres a hill with a trigger zone on it, but no switch. Even if there was a
switch, you couldn’t see which path opened, since it’s all white. One path
leads you to a ton of weapons and lives, but then you can’t take the other.
On my fith try (after viewing the level in JCS), I found my way down into the
rest of the level. Here, you “matrix jump” over some fire. The matrix jump
would be neat if you could tell you were moving, but the background was
all white. Next, you stomp a crate and some steps appear. There’s a small
masked black dot on one that causes jazz to constantly jump. A ton of
special moves? Two.

Level 2: Tileset not found “spacey.j2t”

Level 3: Tileset not found “spacey.j2t”

Level 4: You run through some tunnles, kill some Sparks, and stomp a crate.
The best part was where the matrix jump was on the right, and the way the
carrot and gem were hidden. One part after that had so many sparks I
didn’t even touch the ground, just stomp, stomp, stomp. Then, finally, the exit.
It ends with a climatic “file not found: .j2l”.

Overall: Download recomendation? Yes, because it will make even newbies
thankful they can make good levels. From now on, always test your levels
completely many times, get beta testers, and make sure if you use a Cracco
tileset, it isn’t automasked.

The tileset being hand-drawen dosn’t make it any better. It contained no
shading, and there was no gradient for the textured BG. There was bad
masking in places too. The water looked good. I’d learn how to use
PaintShopPro if I were you. The idea of doing it with your hand was fairly
new, but it could’ve been carried out better. I may try doing a tileset with my
foot… THAT would be interesting.

Okay, now I’m gunna individually review all the levels in Episode2 >:D Level1: You can’t start on this level without playing the previous episode
first. And whatever you do, don’t touch the spring without freezing it. Thats the
meanest thing I’ve ever seen on a level that I didn’t make (anyone remember
my Access Violation Team Battle?). Then there’s 2 dragons that only appear
in hard mode. Thats the first difficulty level difference in the episode. After a
bunch of wandering, you fight the Queen Boss (King Butter?) and finally get
to go to the next level. Level2: Exactly the same as the above level except you can only access
one coin (theres no coin warp) and a few gems. Level3: Same as level1 of first episode. Some reason (maybe just my
sound card), Jazz’s voice got real high when I was fighting the bees. If you
still have some bouncers, you can finish. If not… well… you’ll be there a while.
I’m giving this 1.5, reminds me of those old computer games where you had
to start over if you forgot something at the beginning.

You had a good idea here, but the levels were way to short.
Also, if you use the Frostbiters you get in episode 1 before epidode 2, you
need to cheat to finish. I’ll be mean and review each level individually. Level 1: This level starts out by saying something in another language. No
idea what it says. 4 bees and 3 gems later, the exit. I can tell you got the BG
right by modifying Epics level =P. Level2: Another epic level modification. Somewhere in here you get 15
freezers, which you need to use sparingly. Level3: Another epic level modification. Better still have those freezers, or
you’ll be there forever. Overall, I’ll give it a 1.2, beacuse I liked how the boss had 2 turtles with him.

  2. 2
