A Remix :)
I too like how it sounds and I have to agree with Blackraptor with the beep thingies that lead it.
The music sounds very happy. The sounds are very nice and it isn’t too repetitive, but sometimes it is. I really like it. Although I can’t put up my volume too high because off the beep. I think that is one of those things that could have been a litle bit softer.
Very nice remix. It is a kinda Club thing :)
A 8.2 and a download recommendation.K. Another remix by danyjel.
I like how this one sounds for the most part, but there’s a few things about it I don’t like too much.
Firstly, the lead (or the beep things, don’t really know how to describe them) sound a bit too loud, they take the attention away from the backround stuff and prevent me from turning up the volume. Once again I like the climax of the song. The melody is interesting, kinda upbeat; I can’t really imagine this being used in any jj level though. Otherwise, it’s a good listen. Still not my favorite by you, but sounds good. A lot of parts in this music bring up nostalgia since they remind me from old games, which makes me like the song more. Yay for replacing a bass sample ;p.
Anyways, I don’t really know what to rate this, but I like it enough to give it an 8.5. And a download reccomendation
~Blackraptor (my reviews for music are really short =/)
China Turtle Temple, another turtemple mix by Danyjel.
I like what you did to the beginning, it sounds different from the original turtemple and also gives that china feel.
I really like the song at its climax (patterns 12 – 14), it sounded great there. Too bad it was only a few patterns (12 – 14 and 27 – 29).
The ending is a nice fadeout, but if you want to use the music in a jj2 level, you won’t hear the fadeout and instead the music would just keep going full volume until the last pattern and then abruptly stop and loop.
Otherwise, I like this better than Templorary Turtle. It has more of an atmosphere and I like the main beat more. A good listen, and a good download =D.
it’s maybe not complete but i am not able to do anything with it. Too long time.
Introduction:
A dry interpretation of the Turtemple theme done up in a dance club styling.
Song Analysis:
You’d be surprised just how empty this song can possibly sound without an actual bassline. Which it does not have. At any given point whatsoever. Definate minus points there. And given the opening sample, I almost thought this was something out of Blaster Master 2 for a brief moment. Anyone else remember that lava level? No? Okay then, nevermind.
Anyway. . . Like I said, without the bassline, it’s a little bit dry. The overall arrangement isn’t. . .well. . .arranged all that much from the original, either. It’s just the same old “dun-dun-dun, dun-dun-dun, dun-dun” cycled over and over again in a fast pace with about three samples. Not much to hear here, folks.
Additionally, it doesn’t really sound much like it’s Oriental. It just sounds like typical American dance music, minus the bassline.
Sample Analysis:
The samples chosen are of high quality indeed. However, it seems to me that the samples are also just a tiny bit out of tune with one another. It might just be me, though. Nothing more to say.
Final Analysis:
Wanted: One Turtemple bassline. Inquire inside. :x
Loud and hyper, but dull and boring regardless. Not particularly worth a download considering how surprisingly dry it managed to turn out.
Well, I’m typing this review as I listen. So here we go:
Begining- Some Chinese blips, gone to Turtemple. It sounds somewhat 8-bitish, but it stops
After Sudden Halt- It picks up, theres drums, that clapping noise, overall sounds like a Hong Kong Dance Club.
Sometime After that Part-
As soon as I typed Hong Kong Dance club I began to hear a sound from JJ3 that adds to the Hong Kong Club esque theme I’m feeling. It stops feeling Asian for a short point, but it goes back. By this point I’m 2:48 in to the song.
3 Minutes Mark- Mainly what I’ve been hearing. At 3:30, begins to fade out.
My Only complaint is the Chinese/Asian sounds are too 8 bit-ish feeling, and at times I lose the Asian Vibe and it seems too techno/Night Club-ish so, based on a caculation method I made up at the last minute I’m going to give it an 8.2, here’s why:
Pros-
Keeps an Asian vibe for the most part
When adding new ‘instrument’s it ussualy feels natural.
Some how still seems like Turtemple even though it used 1 theme from it.
Cons-
Loses Asian feel around 2:15 for a bit
Asian sounds are a bit too 8 bittish.
I wouldn’t reccomed it for an asian level unless it was something simmilar to Downtown Tokyo, but it does make a nice listen.
I sense inspiration here. But I still WILL finish my piece, mwahaha. Not even JC will stop me! >]
> Just for fun. Not for Collin’s
> offensive ratings…
Nice to know I’m being thought of in your music. Awww. <3
(He asked for it, Admins. I’m serious. He practically begged for it by putting that line in his Comments.)
Introduction:
Fanolint done in techno/electronica style. Though it only somewhat sounds like Fanolint.(The pot calling the kettle black, over here, I am. XD)
Song Analysis:
“Orchestra”? Not quite. Not at all, in fact. The introduction has a piano and some strings in it, but it soon divulges deep into the electronica stuff we’ve come to expect from Dan here.
Though not clearly marked, it sounds a little like Fanolint all throughout. But it seems only the first part of Fanolint.(Roughly 0:18 to 0:36 of the original song. Though the original was only 0:59 long to begin with.)
Sample Analysis:
Dang, boy! The samples you chose clash quite a bit in this music file, I notice. Right from the get-go at 1:00, the “blip” clashes with the strings and the electronic “whaa-whaa” sound. It clashes all the worse around 2:10 and forward. Rather offensive to the ears, in my opinion.
Final Analysis:
Aside from the notes that make me want to turn down the volume, this isn’t a bad arrangement. Boring, sure. Repeatitive, definately. But it’s not entirely Dan’s fault as the original was only 0:59 long, as I’d said.
I don’t recommend this file for download due to the fact that the samples clash. Badly. With a lot of work, however, it could be a very nice music file.
It might be nice to know what song it is. Though I know… Fanolint…
Not bad actully. Though, I still don’t know how to really rate music.
Another great song by Danyjel.
Crysilis is an overremixed song. I see so many remixes of it and tubelectric. But this one is a good remix.
It starts off catchy and I like the rhythm of it. The lead does remind me a bit of NWCryst, although I don’t like it too much. Some channels like 20 and 21 are kinda boring, but its partially the original song’s fault because those parts in it where boring too.
I like the samples (especially the ones introduced in the few beginning patterns), and the song lenght is about average (3min50sec).
Even though my review sounded a big negative I still really like this song, and will keep listening to it in my mod playlist =D.
Good Job and keep making remixes!
Awsome done, the music fits with levels, its originel and new to jj2 ( the style ). I like it and used more. The structure is nice, samples used OK.
Mayby make a lvl and include it, so whe can hear if its fit. I am not a MUSIC reviewer but this is very nice.
Rating: 9.2
Dr? Yes

Holy crap, Danyjel. . . You had something with this one. But then. . .you had to use crappy drums and try and add in the Jazz Jackrabbit main theme without trying to change the notes at all. You have crushed my hopes for you. Get out. Get out now.
Introduction:
An arrangement of the Jazz Jackrabbit 3D title theme which quickly turns rancid. I am so disappointed. . .
Song Analysis:
This song started off so beautifully. . . The little piano thing from the end of Jazz 3D‘s title theme works maverlously in piano. But the way you decided to the rest of the Jazz theme is a sheer disappointment. . . It just does not sound good as it is at all. Do something with that, and maybe you’ll have a winner on your hands.
Sample Analysis:
The piano samples work perfectly. However. . . I. Hate. Those. Drums. Either add in closed and opened hi-hats, or remove the drums entirely.
Final Analysis:
As I said, this is a disappointment. A lot of potential, this one had. But it quickly disintegrates when we hit the Jazz main title theme. . .
Download this, folks. It’s beautiful. . . For the most part. . .
Okay. Before I get into the review, let me just be not the first, nor the last, to make a request. Stop. Arranging. Tube-freaking Electonic already!!! That goes for the rest of you people, too! I can see why Violet gets so irritated. . .
Introduction:
A weak version of Tubelectric, the single-most arranged piece of music in the history of Jazz Jackrabbit.
Song Analysis:
Boring. Tubelectric as it’s always sounded, pattern-wise. Nothing has changed at all. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this might even just be a simple pattern shifting and sample replacement.
Sample Analysis:
The samples used are good enough. A little annoying during some of the more complex parts, but otherwise fine.
Final Analysis:
Not worth a download, much less 162.(At the time of writing this.)
Introduction:
Truly a pitiful attempt at Technoir.
Song Analysis:
I think JelZe said a lot of what I was going to say, but I’d like to add that this song is far to repetitious for its own good. This makes the song boring.
Sample Analysis:
I don’t like the samples. The drums are weak, the samples from the original song sound a little out of rank with the new samples, and that flute. . . That flute. . . Egad, man. Yuck.
Final Analysis:
Not. . .worth. . .the time it took. . .to download. . .
Introduction:
A bit of original piano playing in the begin, some Tubelectric thrown in, and an overall decent arrangement, even though it blurs all together after a short while.
Song Analysis:
The arrangement is very good, actually. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this, but. . .
Sample Analysis:
The samples really hurt the song. As mentioned above, the selection of samples used blur together far too well. It’s very difficult to decipher what notes are being played at what time a lot of the time. . . The samples themselves are alright, though. Except the drums. I hate the drums.
Final Analysis:
If this had better samples — a wider variety, and such — then this could be a phenominal arrangement. Or at least pretty freaking sweet. But it’s just average, thanks to the blurred pianos, and the drums. . . Bummer.
Download this. It’s not a waste of time by any means.
Special Notice:
You just got a new high score from me. =P
Introduction:
A pretty solid, but average arrangement of the Jazz Jackrabbit theme which sounds a little like it could be from a Double Dragon game.
Song Analysis:
Bits and pieces from all three Jazz Jackrabbit PC themes(Jazz, Jazz 2, and Jazz 3D) comprise this theme. It’s kind of an upbeat sort of arrangement which ends on a high note.(Positive, not literally high-pitched.) I have no real qualms with this song, but it doesn’t really impress me, personally.
Sample Analysis:
The samples intertwine to create up-beat and moderate energy beats and rhythms. That’s about all I have to say about that.
Final Analysis:
Not his best work, but far from his worst. Go ahead and download this if you want a decent titler arrangement.
To Violet CLM:
Because we have you. :3
Introduction:
Tubelectric. Again. This time, sped up and done in a pseudo-electronica style.
Song Analysis:
This song just starts off way too slow. . . Constant drums for, like, a minute and twenty seconds. . .then a barely audible bassline from there until 1:42ish. More baseline for a few more seconds. . .drums. . .Tubelectric melody. . .beat break at 2:50. . . More Tubelectric. Then finally! We get somewhere around 3:31! Unfortunately, it sounds average. Then we go back down to being quiet after that. Finally, back around to a rearrangement of some previously played stuff. And this goes on until the end. It’s pretty dull for an “Electronica” arrangement.
Sample Analysis:
The samples serve their purposes to the end, in this music. Not much else to say about that.
Final Analysis:
This is worth a download if you need some sort of background noise that isn’t going to offend anyone. It’s ten minutes long, repeatitive, and not terrible. But also not great.
Introduction:
Turtemple, plus jingle bells and a breakbeat.
Song Analysis:
Rather bland if you ask me. . . Repeats itself far too often and sounds a lot like the “Turtemple Remix” by Silver Fox J, but far more clashing. Not enough to hurt the ears, but enough to hurt the song itself. I like the pitch raise around 3:02.
Sample Analysis:
The samples work well enough, but the keys they’re in do not.
Final Analysis:
This is an alright download if you can ignore the clashing notes. Definately not the best work this guy has to offer, though.
Dance In Temple – By Danyjel
Firstly, the 2nd pause in the beginning, after you get the techno-sounding sample into the beat doesn’t really fit in. Even though the original turtemple had the break in the beginning, I don’t think you should’ve put it in that far into the beat, its just like expecting the song to reach its starting point peak but instead just stop.
Other than that, I like how the beat goes from there on. It sounds catchy and good. Some parts sounded a bit bland maybe though (Ch. 12 for example, could’ve used something in the backround).
Anyways, looks like you did quite a bit with the song, including making the speed faster. Good Job!
Some final comments to make, although the song sounds good, I don’t like it as much as some other works of yours like ChrisiLiz or Electronique Army. Maybe its because I don’t like the original turtemple song as much as the Chrysilis or Tubelectric one?
Final Rating is a 7.5. This is good remix and I definately reccomend people to download it. Again a good job done by Danyjel.
For an IT module, that’s a bit way too many channels to be used as a maximum. (Then again, I never knew how they were made.)
Samples: 9/10
Okay, personally I like the selection of samples used, but there’s something about the sample (that squarey one that plays the saw melody in the original version) that doesn’t quite sound right. Good sample, but personally it doesn’t fit with the rest of the song’s pace. Other than that, all of the other sounds are excellent, even though you decided to re-use one of them from the original s3m.
Structure: 9/10
A little derived to the exact same pace of the original, but the extension and some note arrangements kind of worked out real well. (Extended, and doesn’t sound repetitive, to me anyway) Despite the high number of channels, the melody is well-developed as it progresses. Not bad for a re-sampled remix.
Umm… (can’t think of anything else to rate.)
Yeah, 9 outta 10. :)
