Another remix by the up and coming Danyjel. Review coming soon…
…TO A J20V2 NEAR YOU.
EDIT: I can’t get the file to work. Sorry, no review. Sure it rocks, though.
Well, I don’t have time for a long review, but I’d just like to say, this remix is very good, although a bit long.
Nice instrument choice, great percussion… I highly reccomend downloading this. Good job, Danyjel. :)
I agree with AcId, it’s a good song, but I would’ve used a larger variety of instruments so it didn’t all run together.
Well, there is a lot I can say about this song. When I first listened to it, the beginning didn’t sound at all like Tubeletric. After listening to it once, I saw the connection, however, the intro definitely is too long. Once you got into the real song, it all ran together, because you used the same piano at the same volume for all of the differing tracks. I would think you would at least have the lead instrument loud enough to hear over the bass. The shakers also sounded a bit off-beat.
The song itself sounds great, but all of these problems together degrade it quite a bit. If you fixed up the various errors, I would give it somewhere around 8-9. As it is, I give it a 4.7
Ah, found the last one to go through. A lot different from the ElectroChoir and TubElectra.
The name does not actually fit. This remix is a very calm (the rhytm is hard, but peacful, like in some hip-hop tunes), piano played melody. Here we have the most recognised parts of JJ melodies joined together, in a way that really makes it good. The pattern order is quite monotonious, but still, logical. The JJ1/JJ2 theme could’ve been done better, in some moments it sounds more like church bells than piano… But that sounds too. Not for game, you say? In my opinion, it would be great for Agama’s Heaven or some sanctuary/church tileset. Maybe it’s not a must-have, but it’s really nice, so if you’re looking for something to listen or making a heavenly level, you surely can pick this one.
Two Danyel’s remixes in line… Both suffer from the same problems. Some samples are annoying (FLUTE!!!), the basses are too silent. Yet once again the melody is very interesting, I especially like the one added in the moment of orchestra hits. Just like before – you can download it if you want. This remix is not outstanding or something, but music maniacs may be interested in the new pattern order and stuff addded in the melody. Especially since this one is appearently better than TubElectra.
The beginning is quite dull. Pattern by pattern, new bass lines enter, and we hear the ol’ Tubelectric BG all the time, which sounds annoying in this remix. When the bass is hot (at least it is compared to the beginning, if this was supposed to sound like techno, it’s too silent), the main Tubelectric line enters, with a very good electric sample. Point for that. Next we have the lead sample, which sounds a lot like another X-mas remix… The rest is ordered quite interesting, I like the way it goes.
So, I can’t really tell what was the idea of this remix. Techno or x-mas? It’s bad when put in one of categories, and isn’t awesome as a hybrid either. Therefore, I have no idea what level would use it. Just for listening? Maybe, but some samples are annoying. The melody is the biggest upperhand. You may download it if you’re curious… but sorry, no candy.

They all have been done as Xmas remixes, JelZe.
Sighs Another Technoir remix? When will it end? There are 35 JJ1 songs to choose from (18 normal, 10 CD, 4 Xmas, Menu, bonus and ending, I’m not counting the end of level one since it’s so short) and all they choose is Technoir!
First Thoughts
Let me tell you this: this doesn’t sound like Technoir at all. I mean, Technoir (pron. Tek-no-war)is a Techno Wartorn planet, and nothing in this song reflects that. Maybe i’m asking too much, but this song could use some work.
Melody and Tempo
What’s noticable from the start is that the tempo has been quickened. The original melody has some parts missing, like the shooting and the heavy voice, and the finale, (BAD move) It’s also been scrambled, like the Tubelectric remix before this one.
Samples
I guess only electric instruments have been used, and even then only 4 or 5 at the most. The tracker put in a sample of the original, but it’s a very minor one. Altogether it sounds like a bad electric dance music.
Add-ons
No parts added, so no comment
Verdict
This is about the same level as the Tubelectric remix, same problems.
Plus this is a remix of a planet song that’s been done to death! Next time, take a planet that hasn’t been done, like Marbelara, Battleships, Exoticus, etc.

OK, my first review on J2O version 2. :P And probably my last… Maybe I’ll just do music reviews from now on, no more levels or tilesets :P
Ok, what we have here is (yet again) a Tubelectric remix. We have what, 5 of them already?
Sigh, lets get it over with :)
First Thoughts
When I first listened to it, I was expecting another Xmas remix of Tubelectric (the third one .;) Made me wanna scream “Tubelectric is a christmas planet!” It actually isn’t a Xmas remix, just a normal one… not that bad tho, I just wanna hear a remix that doesn’t sound like christmas.
Melody and tempo
The original Tubelectric song (song3 for the ones who are unaware) had a melody which fit together, the “stages” as I call them now create a “story” of the planet (for lack of a better term) when put in order. But in this remix, everything is just thrown together. It looks like the tracker / artist just created each part and randomly placed them into the song. Result: a song that doesn’t make sense.
Samples
Another weak part. A good remix has samples that fit in with the theme. In this, I mostly heard… bells! Yes, bells! I don’t recall seeing bells in Tubelectric :p This fact really made me think it’s another Xmas remix. There are some synthesizer samples in the background, but they don’t help much.
Add-ons
No new parts were added, so no comment.
Verdict
As you can probably tell this remix could a lot of improvement. If the melody was more like the original and not thrown together, and the samples better chosen (electricity in the background for one, hard beats for the melody itself), it would help a lot.

17 channels used, next time, please, read comment. You gave me 5 only because it’s not for game, what I wrote in comment. Please, don’t do it again.
Well, let me review this :-)
This is a not really short
music file, it looks like
a piano version of the menu song.
Sounds cool don’t you think?
Well, it IS cool but not in
JJ2, I don’t want to hear a
piano song if i am playing JJ2.
But here is a short review of it because i don’t know a music review system for now.
1: Channels
There are a few channels in this song i think, not many background and foreground, but the main channel sounds cool!
2: Tones
Not many tones you hear, you know, piano tones.
3: Time
The time is good, the song is very long but sometimes the same tones.
THE RATING: erm,,, 5.0
It’s nice to listen but not recommed for JJ2 :-/
Ok, as I promised here’s my rating…
Sample Selecting: I think it’s good. Melody instrument is similar to the original, but it’s filled with more “electricity”, and whole song is more “Funky like”.
Beats: I’ve got a little problem here, I think the basic kick groove can be louder, or the snaredrum or clap can be more quiet or less sharp. But the full groove is nice I think.
Melody: The main melody is same as the original’s, but there are few new things, and you had extended the melody very well. Just, try make another changes to the melody next time I think, but it’s good. =)
Overall: It’s a good remix, with good samples, good ideas, but I think it need more things from that, (more good ideas, more new things.) like in the intro & the ending part. Good luck for the other remixes! =)
Beautiful job.
Rythym:
You kept the original Jazz Jackrabbit Menu beat, while creating a new experience. 10 of 10.
Hype:
This is the average review rating before I reviewed. In this case, 8.1 of 10.
Tilt:
A very good conversion. Extremely good. I finished it. It was delicious.
BURP
10 of 10.
10 + 8.1 + 10 = 28.1 / 3 = 9.36666666666666666666666666666667 = 9.5
Download: Yes
Use: Battle levels, menu song

Very good, especially for your first try! Its very different, but it still sounds like the original version.
I didn’t really recognize the first 9 seconds, but other than that, its great.
A nice beat to it. The trumpet lasts a little bit too long…[This review has been edited by Spazie]
WooW!
This song is verry good for a first
remix!
only the trompets are not sounding good.
But i can remix your song again and make it better.
Nice piece of work Danny!
If i compare this song with others “remixes” like Letni or tubelectric i should give you 10, but because this is your first remix, and because it is realy good, you surely can be better and I think you make next time something realy fantastic. Maybe you should give there longer tones, but as i said before this is real remix and good.
If anyone read this i recomend him to not read Rewiews and download this at his own, because this is one of the “better” remixes.[This review has been edited by sasa][This review has been edited by sasa][This review has been edited by sasa]
