Honestly, pretty good level. These reviews don’t do it justice. A bit claustrophobic at times and the witch section doesn’t specify that you have to break some crates, not kill the witch, but other than that it’s a short and sweet level.

Mivel gondolom érted a magyart úgy írom.

Long time ago I wrote a review, lets see.

Gameplay:

The size of the playable area is balanced nicely overall, there are no big area’s without tiles and there are only a few narrow area’s. The warp from the bottom to the middle means that one can constantly fall down and get back up which could turn especially duels a bit less internesting.

Eyecandy:

The edges of the level are very straight, I would have prefered some different lines in the walls, you could have made them symitrical as well. When jumping around a bit at the C+1 you notice a black line in the top of the background.
The rest of the background is nice and the middle part of the layer 4 of the map is quite good and nicely shaped.

Originality:

I think few maps in this shape have been made, its looks nice, you did a good job, though I always apreciate it when people use different methods than springs and warps to create ways up.

Gameplay: 6,5
Eyecandy: 7,5
Originality: 7

Final Grade: 7

GAMEPLAY
7.2
The map is too open for its’ size. I like some areas of the map, but you should have added more terrain.

EYECANDY
8.0
Fine enough. I like how the background looks, and if the gameplay isn’t good enough, the eyecandy sure is.

PICKUPS
7.8
It could have been better.

OVERALL
7.6
Some areas of the map are fine, but it’s still too open. Eyecandy raises the score a bit, but I don’t think it’s that good. Still, you get a nice 7.6.

I’m giving it an 8.4. Why? Because you have a reasonably great story, good gameplay, and good difficulty (necessary). There is a problem with when you fall down and get caught by the guards. You get sent back to your cell, then you fall down into the ground, but you don’t die. I had to host a server in Coop mode to try to use the /r command, but it was very annoying. Also, secrets are very hard to find since you used the Glowee tileset. But it’s actually a very nice and fun level. Recommend download. :)

A good boss fighting level.

Starting is pretty, raining and storm effects is good. Music is slow but you needn’t music because we’re just fighting :p
Boss area is dangerous and really hard, but can be harder, anyway, cool.

Tileset is little creepy and good, tileset – theme’s harmony is good.

Monkeys? Not harmonic. You could use Tuf (hidden in the tiles) or someone else. But not problem, I love bananas :)

Anyway, hard, creepy, cool.

and after you got 10 fastfires, you just have to stomp down Ulteurus’s flying (crabs?), and after shoot him down :).
Edit: now you can’t shoot the monkey down.

Probably(not me) an unknown person has edited this download :D because there wasn’t blaster PU before the fight.
But it’s true, now it’s easier and probably better….

The fun factor of this level is questionable, especially after you find out that the best tactic you can use is to pwn the first spawning monkey without entering the boss arena until it drops 10 fast fires and enough carrots to stay alive when you’ll decide to start the fight with the boss itself.

The eyecandy is clean, and sets the mood well, although it’s nothing too original. The gameplay is rather hard (I hate moving platforms) even on easy, so if you’re looking for a challenge, I would recommend downloading it.

Okey, here’s your review.

Let’s start out with a Story.

This level doesn’t have a story.
0/0

Music:
Easy points as always.
10/10

Eyecandy:
The eyecandy is pretty well. However, several tilebugs here and there with Layer 3, and also some tilebugs with collapsing scenery there.

Sometimes it felt bland and the lava near Devan Shell was painfully executed.
4,75/10

Gameplay:
Very hard parts scattered around, with those falling rocks but also with the lava below. Text signs to warn for collapsing scenery would be nice anyway.

Nothing special, alltough this level isn’t easy! Some parts, however, were annoying because of wrong use of the
tileset.

And too many checkpoints.

And at last, some spikebolls were nearly impossible to pass without getting hurt.

6,75/10

Enemies:
Somewhere, there was an huge cluster of enemies which I just blew up with TNT.
However, don’t place enemies too close to checkpoints. Those can be practically invulnerable.

Most other enemies were well placed anyway.

The Boss was hard but not unbeatable.

7/10

Pickups: Just enough of ammo and coins, and I ran around with 1 health often. The area arount the last checkpoint was too cramped. The pickups where just slammed in there but in fact there wasn’t enough space to contain them, which resulted in several unusual gameplay-bugs. Don’t stack all those events THAT close to eachother!

Too few secrets, especially because most secrets where actually visible due to horrible Layer 3 usage.
6/10

Replay value:
Horrible. Lack of secrets and lack of a story hurts, and tilebugs aren’t really helping either. And orginality is very important, and this level clearly lacks orginality.
1/10

35,5/60 -> 5,9/10

Penalties:
Avoidable tilebugs: -0,5

5,4/10

DR: Mwuah, so-so. You’ll likely to play this level only once and after you’ve done it, you’re going to delete it.

This level has some good parts, but none of them are really orginal.

Unfortunately, this seems to be TSF only. Even when I converted the level to 1.23, the game runs out of internal animation structures, and I can’t get it to run in 1.23 without removing a huge number of events, and therefore losing all real gameplay. Which is too bad, because I was looking forward to trying this level out.
