I like this level a lot. I think what it’s missing is some more interesting fight environments, as currently no matter where you encounter an enemy, the fight is likely to go down more or less the same way. I also think the theme could benefit from more distinctive looking eyecandy, since at times it feels like a mismatch of colors and materials.
Great Battle Map.
Probably one of DS’ best levels yet in terms of gameplay. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this level during ab18 and the last JDC.
Another good map by DarkSonic. The layout is what you would expect from him (If you have seen his previous works) which is good. Eyecandy is a bit different from what we have seen from him. I have playtested this and it’s also an enjoyable map.
The only downside was that there were some minor flow issues. Still, a nice and enjoyable map! DR? Yeah!
DS made a decent map out of this tileset.
The map is easy to learn – like almost every map DS has made – and the eyecandy is also pretty original (But DS has already mentioned that in his discription). A few small flow issues here and there but not that have bothered me a lot.
Download recommendation and a nice ‘int’ for you!
10100111001 FTW!!
While not DS’ best CTF level, it’s still a good effort. The level has a solid layout and is appealing visually, even if slightly on the monochrome side. Not sure if I’m keen on the cramped Full NRG area, but at least there’s two 2 +1s to balance things out. Maybe more could’ve been done with the background too.
I really enjoyed this in the bash. At first i thought the flow was a bit annoying, but after playing it for a while it wasn’t bad :). Also good ammo and carrot placement. It feels good to grab that flying carrot and just spam rf’s at the center! Also naice paint sketch
I really like the concept and the idea of this level. Therefore it’s a shame there are parts of it that ruin my view of it.
First, the right side lacks a border. You most likely know it will cause camping, and while it can easily be taken care of in a JDC ODT event, it can make the level unusable in bigger games outside of JDC. I suggest you at least add an invisible border; that should help.
Second, it’s very hard to go up left from the lower carrot for Spaz, and I believe it’s almost impossible for Jazz or Lori. That makes it a dead end and therefore a perfect spot for an ambush, without any chance of the ambushed player escaping if he’s low on health.
Third, the upper middle area is too flat, and that’s not really a good thing for a level with RFs.
As for the good parts: The flow on other parts is really good. The eyecandy is simple, but great; one of the aspects of this level I like the most. The layout is not bad, other than the stuff I have already mentioned.
For now, I cannot rate it more than 7.8. I will give it a DL rec though, if you fix the bugs (and if the J2o admins fix reviews), I’ll raise the rating to something above 8.
EDIT: It appears I was wrong about the right border, sorry. I shall therefore raise the rating, but my other points still stand.
EDIT v2: Thanks for the spring, it’s really useful. I was wrong about the border (only the left border causes invincibility) but it looks good this way as well, and the flow is definitely better now :) Rating raised once again!
Great pack, fun levels.
Good eyecandy, the levels look good without being too busy for the eyes.
Definitely the best pack in the Impressions series so far. The levels aren’t of much higher quality than many of the levels DS has made in the past couple of years, but as a whole, the pack flows together very nicely, without much filler. There aren’t many disapointments; this is DS’ JCS skills at his finest.
A worthy pack to download.
The levels are nice and fun to play. (Gameplay and eyecandy)
Musics are also great. (Music)
I make it short, since I’m a bit drunk, burb.. (Own view)
Happened to play this level with some other from Anniversary bash collection.
Very good level)
shame no one yet reviewed this..
This pack contains some of DS’ better work, such as Panic! (in the brains), and Botanizer. Exciting Scenery is not a bad level either. Innovation was okay but nothing too special, and Rooms, although still not bad was by far the worst level of the pack. Download reccomendation.
Quite a large battle level that is well suited for public servers and events. It’s solid all round, however it’s kinda generic and has aside from the size has nothing special about it, so it doesn’t quite deserve an 8 but it’s still pretty damn good.
I love this game because it is challenging and exciting.
