Very well done, condsidering you only had two small screenies to work with.
Download recommendation.
Another remix by the up and coming Danyjel. Review coming soon…
…TO A J20V2 NEAR YOU.
EDIT: I can’t get the file to work. Sorry, no review. Sure it rocks, though.
Holy crap on a stick toasting over a fireplace! This server’s wicked fast! My download started at 22.7 kb; not even FilePlanet goes that fast for me.
Also, I want to know why the hell you had to password the level. Not cool, d00d. I’m docking a point for that.
Ok, let’s GET IT ON!
Eyecandy:
Not bad. The lighting wasn’t varied and you don’t use the set light event, which could’ve been a big help. The background/foreground eyecandy wasn’t bad, but avoid using the same tiles for the foreground that you used for layer 4. It gives the impression that the things in the foreground are smaller than the stuff in layer 4. The same goes with background. Also, I believe you forgot to set up the textured background. Maybe it’s broken. I don’t know. The tileset wasn’t the best, so you get saved, I guess. :P Eyecandy gets a 7.5.
Music Choice:
Not bad. Fits well, though a custom soundtrack would’ve been nice. 8.5.
Gameplay:
Awesome job. I’m not going into too much detail because you should see this for yourself. 9.0.
Overall:
Very well done. The eyecandy wasn’t the bast, but everything else brought up this level.
7.5 + 8.5 + 9.0 = 25 – 1 = 24 / 3 = 8 out of 10. GJ, d00d.
Review = Over.
Download recommendation = Very yes.
Sounds good. Review later, since i’m downloading Rhino3D and it’s 24.2 MB, which’ll take an hour on my n00bshop 56k.

My flaming sense is tingling…
Now, on to the review…
Concept
A symmetrical CTF. Meh. Nothing we’ve seen before there. The Gun9 PU is unreachable, but it gives you a clue on how to get the RF PU. 6/10.
Layout
The layout is spacy, however it has a few platforms. As mentioned before, the level is completely symmetrical, so much that the Ice MAN on the right side is mirrored. 5.5/10.
Eyecandy
You put too much rockets and meteors in, but you can’t really see them. Simplistic, yet pretty good eyecandy. 7/10.
Music
Bah. Aryx.s3m. I’ve seen it used so many times, it kinda gets annoying. That aside, it does fit well with the tileset/planet. 7.5/10.
Pickups
One full carrot. Oh, and a good amount of ammo. 7.75/10.
Hype
Hype is what the review score was prior to me reviewing it. GAMER’s and Black’s don’t count because those were crap reviews. 7.7/10.
Tilt
Sapaspaz has put some effort in this, and it shows. 8/10.
6 + 5.5 + 7 + 7.5 + 7.75 + 7.7 + 8 = 49.45 / 7 = 7.06428571428571428571428571428571 = 7.
Good job. Keep at it.
-ThO
Not good level.
(Not good review. Unsupported rating. Please provide detail. What is bad. Is there good? ~Violet)[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]
It’s Crysilis. No H.
Oh, and nice job. Crysilis is my favorite planet, besides Dreempipes. Ironically, I kinda hate pezrox.
-ThO
If I remember correctly, Assault and Survivor are the same gametype. Is this a shot at irony?
No review ‘cause it’s TSF. Bah.
-ThO
(Note from admin: Assault involves finding a number of boxes, activating the team core, and then killing your opponents. After the core is activated, you will not come back to life; before it is, you have infinite lives. Survivor/Ground Force involves not falling off of a level with destructible blocks. -Trafton)[This review has been edited by Trafton AT]
Nice. Very nice.
Palette:
Violet made it, so you know it’s good. ;) The Textured BG is screwed up in 8-Bit, but that’s fine. You can even use poles! YaY. 9 of 10.
Content:
Contains everything in Jungrock. Suck-Up tubes, Devan/CheckPoint/Jazz signs, a text sign, and a LRK sign are only some of the added things you’ll find. I thought the rain was kinda shaped weird, but that’s fine. 9.5 of 10.
Mask:
I didn’t get stuck. YaY. Oh, and you’ll find some secret messages that wouldn’t be out of place in a Wisey tileset. So, 10 of 10.
Hype:
Hype is what the rating for this download was prior to me reviewing it. No rating, no hype setting. So, N/A of 10.
Tilt:
I like it. I just like it. But you only drew about 10% of the entire tileset. So, 7 of 10.
Overall:
9 + 9.5 + 10 + 7 = 35.5 / 4 = 8.875 = 9.
Download: Yes.
Use: It’s a tileset. Use it.
Oh, and LRK, if Jarno Vos comes and rates this a 1, don’t get mad. He’s just a n00b. Just pet him and give him his dog biscuit. :P
-ThO
Edit: Do Crysilis. Please. The Crysilis we have now is sux. If you do it, i’ll worship you forever.[This review has been edited by RoW_Odin314]
Lark: It’s MP3. >(
Ok, review:
Instruments:
Love it. The only thing I kinda hate is the replacement of the chimes. The chimes in the remix sounded too ‘bright’. 8 of 10.
Actual Music:
Sounds pretty much like the Crysilis Music. I love the fade, however. 9 of 10.
Hype:
Hype is what the rating for the download was prior to me reviewing it. So, 8 of 10.
Tilt:
Great music. It’s just beautiful. I just don’t like the chimes. That takes you from a 10 of 10 for tilt to a 9.5 of 10. But still pretty good.
Overall:
8 + 9 + 8 + 9.5 = 34.5 / 4 = 8.625 = 8.7 of 10. Nice job.
-ThO
Jarnos Vos (Or whatever his name is): I’d like to see YOU make a better song. Besides, you just can’t say it sucks and leave nothing to back it up. What sucks about it? Explain, please.[This review has been edited by RoW_Odin314]
The funny thing is that all four of them suck at making levels. Must run in the family.
-ThO
The level was basically for demostration purposes only. In other words, it was kinda meant to suck, as I didn’t try to make it all that great.
The one sucker tube thing where you simply go around part of the level was designed to make you idle for 3 or 4 seconds, so you’d have a breather.
And the powerups were meant for the ‘boss’, read the readme. :P
-ThO
Once again only “.j2b” works
uh….no…
I like it! But i’m too lazy to give it a rating. But… I’ll give it a 7.6, which is now 7.7.
-ThO

Welcome to the JJ2 community. Please leave your ego, soul, and sanity at the front desk.

One sec, let me review the level…
[Please hold, your upload is important…]
Ok, review:
Layout:
Not bad, for your first try. 8 of 10.
Eyecandy:
You used lighting! Good for you. Though the background isn’t textured. Oh,well. 7 of 10.
Technical Quality:
Music is there, but the next level setting doesn’t work, because I don’t have the level. Oh, well. 7.5 of 10.
Hype:
Hype is the rating before I rated. There is no rating, so this is void.
Tilt:
Great level, for a newcomer. Try making battle levels. I think we see a new EvilMike here! 9 of 10.
8 + 7 + 7.5 + 9 = 31.5 / 4 = 7.875 = 7.7
Keep making levels! You can only get better!
-ThO
I can’t rate this, because it’s not your work. I didn’t even look in your level, because it is probably sux. Then again…
Looks in
Actually, this is not bad…
Not doing a review…
Download: Come for the tileset, stay for the torture known as the level!
Host: This is Single Player….so maybe…

Woah! The compact form of MIDI and the 1337ness of Jazz in one package!
Anyways, review:
Since the MIDI system changes with different computers, sometimes this MIDI will sound rux0r (If, for example, you use a sound card from 1995 (AWE64 FOREVEA!)), and other times, it will sound like complete crap (If, for example, you’re running the Windows XP Midi Mapper). In leiu of this, do NOT use my review as a guide for downloading this MIDI. Only read it for your ameusement ONLY.
Nice job, although at 1:11, the orchestra hit sounded weird and did not follow-through, like the hit in Tubelectric. Also, some of the notes were a note lower or a note higher then usual.
Rating : N/A, for obvious reasons.
Waits for Bjarni to come in and complain that it doesn’t work with JJ2
-ThO
Beautiful job.
Rythym:
You kept the original Jazz Jackrabbit Menu beat, while creating a new experience. 10 of 10.
Hype:
This is the average review rating before I reviewed. In this case, 8.1 of 10.
Tilt:
A very good conversion. Extremely good. I finished it. It was delicious.
BURP
10 of 10.
10 + 8.1 + 10 = 28.1 / 3 = 9.36666666666666666666666666666667 = 9.5
Download: Yes
Use: Battle levels, menu song

My Rating:
Tiles:
Nice job, though a little too un-detailed.
You include all the basic tiles, with the possible exepction of a hook, but since I think hooks are sux, I give this 10 of 10.
Masks:
No mask messages! :( Besides this, the maksing is great. No bugs whatsoever. 10 of 10.
Music:
You stole the music from Hotel Deluxe! I do like the music, though, so you’ll get a 5 of 10.
Hype:
Hype is basically the rating before I reviewed this. In this case, 8.1 of 10.
Tilt: I’ve seen better, but you’re new. 8 of 10.
10 + 10 + 5 + 8.1 +8 = 41.1 / 5 = 8.22 = 8.2
Final Rating = 8.2
Download: Yes
Use in JCS: If you want a city level but are tired of MegaMegametropolis.
Host levels made using this: Yes

My longer review:
StreetFight ®*
All of the StreetFight levels are good, with the expection of the one made with the Wisteyness tileset. Now THAT one was suck.
9/10
InstaGib ®*
All of the instagib levels were good, expect the one with the wisey tileset. That one was suck.
8/10
9 + 8 = 17 / 2 = 8.5
There. Happy Barney- err… Bjarni?
