Not a bad level by Laguna. Like Aiko said, playable and interesting eye candy. I couldn’t find any weak points (except it may look weird on low-detail), but then again, not many strong points either. None the less a 7.2 . Keep it up, Laguna!
Cool: Another Diamondus level from the Netherlands! I really think this is one of Laguna’s best levels so far.
The design is awesome, super fluent, playable and the eyecandy is very interesting and original, too!
Despite its new (released some minutes ago), i even think this is a true classic. It has the same quality like the original Epic battles or the ones that Jeh made. Very high seven points from me. I’m undecided and its possible that i will re-rate it to eight someday. Lets see how things develope :-). Anyways, that doesn’t stop me from saying that "A shot for a diamond" is HiGLY RECOMMENDED! GET iT NOW!
P.S.: Thanks to the admins, that they didn’t delete my old review before i copied it to the proper version of the level :-)
Well yes sorry, i could re-release it if ya want with the right next level string?

P.S.: Unfortunately, the next level setting didn’t work for me (major downfall when playing online).
GASP
I just forgot the next level setting…
again faints
Well it’s not like i don’t know how to do it :P Just start JCS, go to tools -gt; level properties -gt; Next level
Umm yes ;-P
A pretty above average level using NewSpaz’s christmas set. (I really think you SHOULD include the tileset Laguna) the layout was simple, but I like the way the tileset was used (dispite the fact that you could get stuck a lot, but that’s the tileset’s fault, I think.)
Weapon selection was good, as was music choice.
To sum it up, download if you are bored and seek a good battle level. :-)
Nimrod CC, if you had taken the time you can see NewSpaz’s tileset is beneath my download.
The tileset should be included!
Well, Laguna produces lots of levels but you won’t see anything bad from him.
This is another good example: it has a very open style, a good weapon selection and is pretty playable.
There isn’t much eyecandy but thats mainly because of the limitations of the custom tileset used (NewSpaz’s Christmas set, which is quite good either!). The background module is okay, nothing special, just the usual christmas sound.
All in all "Christmass hills" is a cool thing to download for Christmas (thats means in December not already in October or November ;-). Lets Battle (Low seven stars))!
Not very small, or big, I think. Open and simple level design. Not bad, but there could be more stuff around, like statues. There is not enough weapons, and tileset wasn’t used very well.
Another very handy level from the Netherlands. Laguna seems to like this classic battle style using a very open design, which i appreciate.
The eyecandy is good but i think it still could need more. Weapon selection is good also.
All in all a good download for all passionate roasters! Not much to critize (or to praise :-).
I was very undecided if to give six or seven points. Maybe i’ll decrease the rating once in a while, who knows :-)
There are 2 powerups!
First of all the blaster powerup and the RF powerup, well if someone goes into the carrot room the entrance is triggered so you can go there (the text string says) and if someone leaves the carrot room the entrance is de-triggered. Start a local network game 2player to find out gt;:)
A pretty good battle level, as the Author’s description says, this is small. Design is good, though I don’t like the layer 3, it is done in a wrong way, very confusing. Interesting the way this has no powerups (except that one I never knew how to get), but it needs a few more weapons.
Conclusion: Download now if you’re a battle fan. :-)
(btw, is there any way to get the powerup? I never found out how. Wait, and idea comes to mind, but I am too lazy to try it.)
Wow, i really love the size and eyecandy of this level! In spite of the fact it uses Diamondus, which will never be my favourite set, this should be a lot of fun to play.
Design and weapon placement are pretty cool also. Im very undecided between seven and eight points here. Hmmm. High seven points! Dont forget to DOWNLOAD this NOW and host a battle server!
YaY, I like this level a lot more than your other ones. It has nice design and eye candy, though the event placement could have been improved. Download or not? I guess so. :-)
This is a very nice level. Even though it is a bit larger than ur other levels, it is still small. About 4 players should be nice. Some bugs in the tiling, but those are very minor and should not discourage you to download this level. I love the design, vewwy nice :)
Pretty average level overall it seems, let me go over the good and bad aspects that affect the review…
Design: +5
The design here is good, though it seems dull at times, events could have been placed better, spring placement could be better too. (springs are a major factor in my reviews)
Eye Candy: +1
Unoriginal background layers, at least the Layer 4 and 3 stuff was good..
Next Level setting: -0.1
I’m going to take away an unnoticable bit of this review because of the next level. Sure, I have it, but it wasn’t included in the zip file, leading to problems.
Navigation: -0.3
Navigation here was a pain, because of lack of good spring placement and lack of one ways where they were needed.
Overall it comes down to a pretty average level. It gets a 5.6 from me.
It will be changed. I am currently on a little break(read: much lazyness, a lot of school and homework, and alot of tiredness after school.)
It wouldnt be that hard to change really..I will do it now. :-)
(edit: Nevermind cough cough
cheeze made it so it only can work with fifths if I completely overhaul the script. I’ll do that someday, but not now..too tired.)
Is it worth it to add a rating system that accepts tenths? (using a text box)
Oh, yes… Thanks. I forgot about that. Must’ve been thinking about Monolith and weapon 0ing him, at the time. =P
I really only mentioned Dino Station because of its usage of spikes. If the spikes weren’t there, it would be a lot easier…
Still, I don’t think that should change the rating too much, eh? J2O doesn’t allow reviewing on every tenth. Also, that reminds me… Last time I looked at the review edit page (a day or two ago) it only allowed editing reviews for whole numbers. Is that going to be changed (or has it already been changed?)
