And I’m bored enough to review this. Anyways, I really like this set. The colors are cheerful and bright, and the tiles are nicely textured. The tileset is easy enough to use, and has a large color variety. Comes in 3 different versions (the original is still my favorite). Enough eyecandy tiles, sucker tubes, destruct blocks, hooks, poles etc etc. Masking is also good. Blah. Sorry for the short review, but I think this set owns. 8.5 for the reasons I’ve mentioned above, and the fact that you can make really rux levels with this (as shown by BlurredD).
Well this is another good tileset, but i don’t like it as much as i like some other first page tilesets like: Oddesey, Mega metropolis, Heaven, Swamps of the sleeping jaguar, Egypt, Sirius, JJ1 Turtemple, JJ1 Orbitus, JJ1 Langunicus, JJ1 Megairbase and some others like… I think i should get to the review. Here it is:
My Rating: 8.0
There is not much to put in the tileset as background or foreground, but there are stuff to put. Same with the sprites.
My rating: 7.0
There isn’t much to put as an animation, apart from scenery blocks.
My rating: 10.0
The masking is great, no bugs. Easy to use, hardly any confusing things.
My rating: 9.0
This tileset is not too easy to use, but not too hard either. But in my opinion, it can get BORING to use. I really mean that, sorry, disguise.
My Average Rating: 8.5

And finally, Alien Temple ][ by disguise. Funny how now I have 3 internets (for the 3 seperate tilesets) and 3 JCS (for the 3 seperate tilesets) to compare the sets/ratings for them now, along with calculator ;D. Anyways, review starts:
This tileset also surprised me quite a bit. The quality of the color and the sweet looking crystals etc. There are many animations in this set (waterfalls, glowing green letters) and probably more of them then in the other two sets. The color is awesome here (the textureness), although there is a small variety of it (most tiles are either brown, grey, or green). Backround is there, lots of eyecandy, awesome looking sucker tubes, hurt events, vines, but where are the destruct blocks? ;( ;( ;(. Oh well, that alien dude looks really awesome as well. I really like the crystal rain and the variation of size in the crystals you made. Rating time!:
Tiles Included (keeping in mind the 200 tile limit): 8.7
Important tiles: 7.3
Animations (keeping in mind the 200 tile limit): 8.4
Overall (not an average): 7.7
final rating: 8.05, rounded down to an 8. Interesting, how all 3 tilesets, are both given 8 by me. Shows how close of a race it is =P. This is also a very sweet tileset, and would be nice if Disguise found some extra time to expand it a bit, since so far it looks awesome. Just like the other 2 sets, this gets a definite download reccomendation and congrats to wisey for making suck a good set. GJ.
This is more a cave than a temple being, but no matter.
Alien Temple is an excellent quality tileset that has a really nice and smooth use of textures. However, don’t let the first impression of this wonderful use of texture disturb your judgement, as the tileset gets boring very fast. Even with all the nicely drawn tiles, the tileset is still only brown and green. There is no variation in the crystal colors and structure, only the form and size variates.
Although I realize that the set size was limited due the contest rules, it is however no excuse on Jazz2online itself. I’d really love to see this set being continued into a more detailed one with more variation and animations, even the current ones are smooth.. They’re just not very original (animated falls (Well, a crystal, but it’s still under the category :) and a typical glowing symbol. Even some sort of glint would add a lot to the set.)
Overall, the set’s good considering the limitations given, which also caused the drawback in it. Download recommed.
Good work Disguise!
this tileset looks reeeeeally good!
Very easy to use.
This tileset isn’t very big (i know 200 was max for the competition)
but for being so small it’s
this is one of the best city tilesets I have ever seen I also like the pink tileset……VERY original. enormous tileset and a very nice job!! :)
this is an huge tileset and much details and the mask is so good.
this is the best tileset i ever seen.
i give it a 10
(Unsupported rating removal. Why is being a huge tileset a good thing? Are there no flaws whatsoever? Describe these “details”. What makes the mask good? Are there other factors, such as graphic quality? Just some suggestions. ~Violet)[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]
..Didn’t BlurredD also request for the Night version? As for the set, I like it. The bricks have a nice brownish orangish color which is pleasing for me to look at, the ground doesn’t look too different, but it has a nice eveningish color to it. Pretty much everything looks nice and textured, and has a nice atmosphere. I can’t really say much more since this isn’t really a new tileset (just a palette edited version). Still, I like the atmosphere of this tileset, and I’ll probably build something with it when I can. Also, though this doesn’t affect my rating of this in any way, I like the music that came in the zip with this set, it’s a nice, good sounding music that fits the theme, and might save me the trouble of looking for another one when I make a level with this set. Overall, I just seem to really like this version. Maybe it’s because I’m in a good mood. Oh well, 8.2 and a download reccomendation.
I tried to make a level with this set, but everytime I want to start it I get an access violation and don’t know why.
I didn’t flip animated tiles or something…Can someone help me?
