Well I must say I am greatly impressed in seeing this again… Although the level buildup is wrong (the minimum amount of tiles is 15 * 20 as that is one 640 * 480 screen).
Also I seem to miss the enemies indeed. And the fire doesnt hurt on most occasions.
I think you should rebuild the entire game. And you could also put the three levels in 1 and add the “… more to go” text that comes at the end.
The three in 1 thing would work much better for that too (warp to the hall of 1 screen wide and then to the next level).
So all in all i’d say this tileset needs a bit more improving.
Messed up palette is all I can say here. Ill await the fixed palette version of this then. Or use my other stonarfix when building…
This conversion has not got much but its the tileset from jazz 1 in full (including the right palette this time..)
You should also take shots of the plants for an update I think.
The levels contain puzzles every now and then. Some are easy (or is that lucky:)) some are hard. It’s good to have puzzles in levels. Requires thinking.
Let me seeeeee. I am in a good mood. I’ll give this a 10.
It seems im the first to review this.
This is a great program if you have long sentences you type often.
It is the best (and only) of its kind out in here and it works with more than just jj2. You can send quotes over other programs too.
The drawback is the speed, the program seems to work fast some time and slow on the others.
The next drawback is the limited amount, but i assume thats because this is version 1.
Besides that its a great program that gets a d/l recommendation from me!
Okay editing my other review went wrong so im adding one (sorry about that ill try to delete the other later)>
I like the tileset, I think its the first with a theme like this!
Its easy to use as is said in the description. It also looks cool enough and I didnt check all the files, but I think it has enough variation for a long level.
A good ol’ 6.7 from me!
I have not downloaded it, but I do have a question, concerning this tileset.
Has this been uploaded before by someone else?
I think it has. If so, please only upload your own work, you may review everything though.
There, I think I said it everwhere now, because people you all need to go reviewing more!
It works properly now, I think I have seen this before and with me… I think it worked…. Well I could be wrong, my upload was wrong before too. Bobby fixed it though.
And Tublear, go do some more reviewing okay?
I dont have much time or lust to go and review this so i will keep it short.
This is okay for your first level, you should also go and review other people’s levels (objectively where you can). (that as a side note since no-one seems to get it!)
EHmm as for the level… Evilmike says almost everything there exept that he’s a bit harsh.
The text in fact is the most annoying thing of the level popping up again and again…
Yes thats pretty much all I can think of that hasnt been said.
A 6 for your troubles. naaaaw its your first ill make it 6.2
Not that there’s a chance anyone will read this but I thought I’d review this, since I forgot when downloading.
The file contains two tilesets and only two tilesets, nothing more which is very bad. No readme or example level that is…
The set itself looks like a paint-made one to me. I don’t really like the thing…. They just don’t have what it takes…
So it will get a 6.
Is this the army level you put up like… yesterday or so ???
If it is ill review it in a while.
The idea to put the bases behind springs that need to be frozen is better than most longer game attempts (mainly bonus warps).
I haven’t seen many levels in D.A.M.N. Tileset either so Ill give this a good ol’ 7.2
Hmm this review was a bit on the short side.
I think the weapon placement is okay too.[This review has been edited by BlackDeath]
That’s because this one wasn’t finished yet when I uploaded the other, but hey, if I were to add them both the file would have been a bit big.
What’s with the completely unbalanced reviews here?
It looks as if though half of the people gives this a 6 and the other half a 9. That’s strange.
Really strange.
Now as for the level… The name is fitting and describes the level pretty well :).
It uses the (according to the tips) underused medivo tileset and it looks pretty good.
The gameplay however has it’s drawbacks with jazz, because on some points he is just slower than spaz, which makes the level unfair for jazz players.
I think there’s not much wrong with the flying gargoyles (exept in Aiko’s levels :)).
Enough bull*censored*, on to the rating:
I give this something in between. 7.5
Note: even if a level is multiplayer you should still put a single player starting location somewhere, so you can test it easier. Saves the jjnowall and jjfly typing and such. That influenced my rating too![This review has been edited by BlackDeath]
What’s with all the reviewing anyhow?
D’oh! I’m doing it too!
Everyone knows what this is, what its purpose is and why it is here (because it wasn’t yet :)).
That’s all.
I agree with Fquist here.
Too much enemies too many bugs made this A bit less entertaining then I thought when reading the description…
if you are to finish the episode, let me give you a tip:
If you want to use enemies this way, make them regenerate and make it so that you have to pass an area more often (like with trigger crates).
If you do that, then you made the level fun, a little longer and not too overcrowded.
Words are not enough to describe what has been uploaded here.
The tilesets are great, the levels are great, the music is great…
The only drawback is the way jcs handles tilesets, it causes the tileset here to be a bit hard to use, as the tiles cannot be placed next to each other quite as they should be.
Agama, if you are reading this, then you should consider a feature in artwork/design, you have the talent to make it.
There is only one righteous rating for this….
The perfect description for this would be ‘jazz 1 tileset remake.’
The tileset has big parts and presumably the idea of the tubelectric 1, the orbitus and the crisilis tilesets in jazz 1, but way better looking and adjusted to jazz 2 play, as most of the others actually really arent.
The tileset is big enough and has loads of animations and layer potential so it leaves me with only one rating to give.
Yes you’ve guessed it.
And something big this is!
The download was faster than I though when looking at the description, but thats prolly because I chose the right time…
There are many level and / or tilesets in the zip file which is good.
As Blade said most of them use the overused diamondus and carrotus tileset and the levels dont seem to be finished on some parts. However a cool background on most levels and some interesting stuff makes the levels interesting to play. The Blue world level for instance has great variation and background, like the weirldlyness (or something level) which also has messed up :) pallettes and colors.
The levels are IMO meant for 2 – 4 player battle in most stuff and the next level settings of all levels is wrong (no sequence just level by level).
All in all I wouldnt say it deserves the 8.7 given by blade, but more of a…. 7.7
I have trouble downloading this file, which might be my connection right now (less than 1 kbps)…
Sooooo im afraid I cannot rate this yet.
My review will be altered if this is to work later.
For now, other people go and rate this!!!
