Niek: There are poles in this tileset (V-Poles, H-Poles, Diamondus Poles, Carrotus Poles… basically all the poles). The backgrounds were taken from Commander Keen 4, not JJ2. The textured background is heavilly edited and was orginally from my Earthworm World tileset.
Sonictth: The music used in the example levels is the exact same music used in Keen 4. You’re not allowed to take off or give points for anything example level rated, anyway.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
Cool, i begin reviewing:
Graphics-
Long/short+
Poles-
Vines+
Tubes-
Background- ( the most are taken from orriginal JJ2)
Use+
This is a conversion of an old game, so the graphics are not realy nice
I played Keen4 so much before and
i don’t know where to see the standard gallactic alphabet, so thanks for making it in one of the tilesets,
In that story, i forgot to say the rating: a 7,5:-}
Good work for a conversion:-}[This review has been edited by niek]

A medium size level by LRK..
EYE CANDY
The eyecandy is very pretty and very creative the eyecandy is great.
GAME PLAY
The layout is linear but all the jj2ers can play it in duels,2vs2 and have fun time playing it.
AMMO AND CARROT PLACMENT
Those PU.. It`s very easy to find them and It`s in the middle of the way jazzers playing.
Car placment is in the middle and that`s fair for Blue and Red.
THE LEVEL IS GOOD OR NOT?
The level is nice not much nice but nice and the level is pretty good.

Here’s yet another “super quick” review.
GAMEPLAY:
From what I can tell, the layout is too linear for my tastes. The gameplay is mostly run back and forth from base to base. I just don’t really like the way the routes are. This level feels lopsided with the way that the left side is narrow with short passages while the right is more spacious with longer routes. The flow is decent though it could be better such as in the several places where I have to jump while running. And the level doesn’t have anything new in it. I’d be lucky if I could recall if this level even existed in a few months.
EYE CANDY:
The eye candy isn’t too different from most levels that use this tileset. My only complaints would be with some of the ground tiles in the 3rd layer that poke out in front of players. It looks a little odd, but it’s no big deal. Also, the buildings don’t add much to the atmosphere; they pretty much get in the way more than anything. In addition, I found the changing lighting effects to be irritating. Still, the eye candy is decent.
CARROT AND AMMO PLACEMENT:
The full energy carrot and the 3 powerups are placed well enough, although it’s pretty ordinary and dull the way it is. The ammo placement, while not hideous, isn’t that great. Most of it’s right on the ground, thus encouraging more simple running base to base. I suppose it could work out, but I didn’t find it particularly fun. In fact, I didn’t find most of this level fun.
HOST THIS OFTEN?
Depends on how much you like linear levels. I probably wouldn’t host this myself. 7.2 because I’m a nice guy, and the level isn’t horrible anyway.
I thing It’s Good

Yay. Finally again a CTF level by LRK. Let’s review this one.
First impressions: This is a level by LabRatkid of TF and OLC and it uses the Oasis tileset.
Gameplay: Good/Very Good. The gameplay here is good, but nothing really special. The level’s size is big in the width, but there could be more height here. It doesn’t really matter, so I go on with the gameplay. There is a nice spring placement(like most good levels have). There isn’t a complete border around the level, and I think it causes the flag bug. The layout is nice, but the level could be more open. There is one way and float up too at some places, and the bases are placed well.
Conclusion Gameplay: Pros: Nice spring placement and layout. Cons: Probably a flag bug, the level could be more open, and the level’s height could be more.
Eye candy/Tileset use: Good/Very Good. This level has mostly typical eye candy for the Oasis tileset(in layer 3 and 2), and it looks nice imo. There are alot of trees and that roads that go to another direction, while that’s also in layer 4, and that is the only right way. It may be confusing, but I think it isn’t in this level. Like most levels with this tileset have, there are also caves in some places. The layer use is nice, and the background is typical for the tileset. The tileset is used well, too.
Conclusion eye candy/Tileset use: Pros: Alot of eye candy in layer 3 and 2, which looks nice. The tileset use is good, too. Cons: The roads that go to another direction than in layer 4 may be confusing.
Pickup placement: Good/Very Good. This is also nice, there is a nice ammo placement, and the ammo is mostly placed symmetrical, but the level isn’t completely symmetrical(what I forgot to say in the gameplay section). There is just as many ammo at the other side I think, and the selections of ammo are nice chosen too. There are 3 PU, a Bouncer, RF and Seeker PU. The Seeker PU is placed in the centre, the Bouncy PU at the right side of the level and the RF PU at the left side of the level. There is also a full energy, which is placed in the middle, and that’s good(of course). The ammo should be as close to the ground at some places.
Conclusion pickup placement: Pros: Nice ammo placement, there is the same amount of ammo at each side of the level. Cons: The ammo could be less close to the ground at some places.
Originality: Good/Very Good. The level is original, yes. First off, the level name. Second: The level music. Third: There is nothing stolen, but the eye candy is(of course) the same as in most levels with this tileset. But that’s because the tileset doesn’t have alot of different eye candy tiles.
Conclusion originality: An original level, which has no stolen things.
Fun Factor: This level isn’t very fun to play, there is a straight route to the bases, and the level is quite closed. But, the level is quite original, and originality has something with fun factor I think.
Conclusion fun factor: Not very fun, the level has a straight route to the bases, and is quite closed. The originality makes it good.
Others: Host this: Sure, it’s a quite good new level.
Download: Yes.
Final rating: 8.0. Good job LabRatkid.
- DarkSonic of XSÐ, CC and XLM -
Edit: changed rating to 7.7.
Btw, Yay, I can put Seeker PU’s in my levels again![This review has been edited by da man]
LRK ctf level ;(
EYECANDY: 7.3
The mountains are nice in the BG, but look dull at the bottom of the level. Then the eyecandy gets confusing. There are already enough ground tiles at layer 3. This may confuse some newbies but the most experienced players have seen the eyecandy like this on most levels earlier. Anyways the most part of the level is done fine and isn’t confusing. Yay.
GAMEPLAY: 8.8
The boring “run left, run right” style is used here. When you take a close look at this level, you see that the level features THREE PLATFORMS! OMG. The positive thing is that you still can go around easily.
OTHER STUFF PLACEMENT: 6.3
Carrot and the bouncy powerups are closer to red base and RF powerup and the seek powerup are close to blue base. That means blue can have those two most deadly weapons in JJ2 and red has a lousy carrot and a lousy bouncie powerup. This is once again NOT the way.
ORIGINALITY: 6.4
I’d like if this level was something different for a change. Argh. There are many other levels using the run right, run left style, which is boring anyway.
FUN FACTOR: 6.2
Where the fun is? The level is boring run right, run left with THREE PLATFORMS!!!!! How can it be like that? Bonus points for the music. Luv it.
OVERALL: 6.2
DOWNLOAD? If bored.
HOST? Maybe.
The Edit: I was writing this review while R3ptile was submitting his own. There was no other reviews while I started reviewing this, so I did not rate this low on purpose.
The Edit Number Two: Now the seek powerup placement rating is gone away.[This review has been edited by the WINNER]
First and foremost, everyone asking for ‘colours’ knows nothing about fonts. Fonts don’t have colours, and the colours you see in Jazz2 are made in Jazz2. So if you lowered your rating for not having colours, then raise it up a bit.
Alright, frankly I wasn’t impressed for a number of reasons:
1.) These are not filled characters, just outlines of the characters. I can see why it would be tricky to do that any other way, but still.
2.) Characters are missing. That’s an obvious one.
3.) At smaller sizes, its not readable. Lots of special fonts are like that, though. However, at large sizes the characters are very…blocky.
4.) The font is just outlines, which still isn’t so bad. However there are holes in the outlines. This may not seem like a totally bad thing, but when it comes to someone who photoshops or messed with fonts, using whatever, having holes in outlines can be very inconvenient. Especially for things like filling or with gradients.
Despite these, all in all, it’s really not that bad for a first time. You could improve upon it in the future, if you wish. Though I may begin making a sort of Jazz2-font thing myself…
Ok, first time reviewing a font, here goes:
LAbrat Kid made a jj2 font, yay! As I installed it and tested it in microsoft word, I wasnt as pleased as I thought I would be. The font lacks color, but I dont mind that. Though most of the time it looks smudged and erased a bit, and its hard to read it. When this is used in 8 or 9 font, its practically impossible to read this. The chars are so small and look screwed up. 10 font is a bit better, but still looks too smudged/erased. Same with 11 font. 12 font looks a bit better. 14 font looks a lot better, I might actually use it sometime, same with 16 and 18 font. 20-28 looks a bit messy, but alright. 36 and over is just no. Plus, there are some other cons. The 0 looks a bit too similar to the O at times, so its hard to tell the difference frequently. Not all characters work, only the letters and numbers and some other things like colons and slashes. It would be nice if some things like quotations and parentheses (not the ones on the numpad, the ones to the right of the P on the qwerty keyboard) would be included, but I dont think jj2 had them in the first place (you could of tried to make your own and make them look similar, but oh well). Overall, a bit too many cons for a higher rating, but this font can look pretty good at times, and it’s nice to have a jj2 font in word. Original rating 6.5 but upgraded to a 7.2 for effort and for the fact that the author tried to do something new to help the community (and so not too ruin the rating of this). Despite that the rating may not be that high, you should still download this to at least check it out. Good Job and download reccomendation.~Blackraptor. Btw, the numerous edits are because I kept messing up when trying to explain what I meant in one of the sentences, and because I suck at spelling Qwerty.[This review has been edited by Blackraptor]
Well anyway, about the font, I think it is a pretty good font, but if it didn’t say ‘Jazz Jackrabbit 2’ at the top of the Font prevewer I would have never guessed that it had anything to do with JJ2. =P
Well anyway, the wavy effects are pretty cool, and the font is nice anywy.

Actually, its the puzzle. Its too large for one sheet of paper right now so it gets cut off on 2 sides. Just copy it into microsoft word and print it from there.
I really like this font as I can now use it in my game :) It comes in very handy aswell for anyone else who is making a jazz fangame. Anyways it looks at bit horrible black and white but when it has colour added to it , its great. The only thing I dislike about this font is it doesn’t suit bigger font sizes and looks weird other than that I give it a seven
Just because something is new, such as the first Jazz Jackrabbit 2 font uploaded to Jazz2online, it doesn’t deserve a rating equal to something given to like, Agama or Disguise’s work. I really wonder how a J2O Addict, Danyjel, can have such a rank and review so horrible. Oh well.
This font is not very good. I’m sorry, but it’s poorly copied and only looks okay in two font sizes (which are 14 and 16). I’d rather copy and paste the font from JJ2 than use this font. No matter how hard it is to make a font to you, it’s still horrible and looks like a joke compared to any other font. It’s like saying ‘I only have paint, so plz review my tileset 10 =((((“.
Roger out.
That is nice that someone did jj font, but this font isn’t really good to have rating more than 9 or even to have a Tip. Font is quit good to a size 20 maximum, letters which uses this font with size bigger than 20 looks ugly – I can see the big pixels – if you really wanted to do a good jj font you should draw it big by your own using exactelly the same shape as jj font (this is only my opinion)
I won’t rate it , but if I would rate it, then the average rating would be a bit lower than it is now.
NOKA
its grea but i have windows XP.
so i cant start i think but nice going.
every letter :P but i give a 10 when it has colours to.
but
anyway
THIS ROCKS!

Okay. Here is my review.
This is first version of supercool font, font from JJ2. Now it’s second thing it’s last version of it… This is first thing of this type at Jazz2online, like everything by Labratkid, which always put here some innovation. I think without Lab Jazz2 has no future.
We must admit, quality of this is very, very bad. It’s because fonts can display only two colors, say everybody, but it’s not only because of this. Quality is not non-good, it’s normally bad. Lot of characters are missing, no more than normal Jazz2 font. Less than Jazz2 font. Jazz2 font had colors too… This font is maybe unusable. But making of font is not easy… Theory was easy, make font… But Lab is first who realized it. Nobody wanted that worked, even though he knew lot of people will download it, but they were lazy. Including me. I must to give you points for realizing of so easy idea. Download it anyway! Support innovation!

What version of Windows do you have, Cooba?
For some reason I think Moonblaze hates me =P[This review has been edited by labratkid]
I just LOVE the jj2 font. lovelovelovelovelove <3
However, it looks kewl. Wonders. Go lrk.
ERM, well, only problem on it, it misses chars. It is so wonderful on IRC!! When random people adversite to you can click certain words. It is so awesome.
Is that enough? Because thats all I have to write.[This review has been edited by Shinbo]
