Better than the original survivor, and lots of people run this on their servers. I love playing survivor, and these are great. I hope you make more, by the way!
Download, everyone!
This is pitiful. It was made with paint, and the terrain is one shade of brown, and the tiles on the hills don’t go together.. it was a nice try, especially because it was made with paint (atleast I hope so, if it wasn’t, I’d be scared).
Nice level, I’m just gonna right a list of pros and cons.
Pros………….
Nice eyecandy.
Original things here.
Good gameplay.
Cons………….
The line, “Yay, a sucker tube!” was kind of unncessary, but it’s not a big con.
Not much ammo.
The width of the level should’ve been adjusted so the map would fit nicely (on the right edge of the map, it just ends, and you see a lot of space.
Download reccomendation, like I said for the other level that was just released by darkhelmet.
An average level, really.
Eyecandy: Good
There was pretty good eyecandy, all though not too much to to look at, it made due. It could’ve been better, though. No mistakes, just nothing extremely nice.
Pros: No flaws.
Cons: Nothing great.
Ammo placement: Okay / good
The ammo placement wasn’t too good. The were a lot of spaces in the level with nothing there, though, and ammo could’ve been placed more in some areas.
Pros: Nice placement…
Cons: … where there IS ammo, that is.
Replay / fun factor: Good
Looks like a fun map to play, with plenty of space to move, run, and jump as you please. It uses the all ways fun to play Heaven tileset by the master of all tilesets, Agama.
Pros: Plently of space to run around.
Cons: It may be hard to find your opponent sometimes.
Bugs: Very good
No noticeable bugs here.
Pros: No bugs.
Cons: None.
Originality: N/A
Nothing new, but nothing old… that doesn’t make sense, does it? Oh well, I hope you understand =)
Pros: Nothing is copied.
Cons: Nothing is new.
Download reccomendation for all you Agama fans.
A surprisingly good level, but it’s short. I’ll write a long review since it’s a decent length.
EYECANDY – GOOD
—————————-
Very nice eyecandy, except for the green stuff on the wood at the very begining, but other than that the eyecandy is pretty darn good for the most part. Good job.
ENEMY PLACEMENT – GOOD
———————————
Good enemy placement, nothing wrong with it.
AMMO PLACEMENT – N/A
——————————-
Hardly any ammo, there might’ve been a couple +3 ammos here and there; I really don’t remember.
REPLAY / FUN VALUE – GOOD
———————————-
A fun 5 minutes of Jazz 2 in an underused tileset. Like everyone said about my Battleships level, it’s too short!!! I understand that this is only one level of a bigger pack, though.
ORIGINALITY – N/A
Nothing original, and nothing unoriginal, except for the fact that there was ice cream here – there is usually ice cream in levels made by the Heck tileset (the cold part, that is…). I’ll just say N/A, though.
Download reccomendation, and I’ll definetely download the pack when Mikee releases it!
PS, Mikee, all of a sudden you are great at level making, keep up the good work =)
Koth2 is better. Koth would probably take a day or two to finish. I wish somebody would host these because they look like a lot of fun.
Cool. Enough said?
Fun pack, very original ideas in here. Download reccomendation.
An awfully buggy level pack with pretty good eyecandy. It was a pretty fun time, but it was short. The last level, Devan kept bumping into the walls and every time he did it said “Chris is a redneq.” Okay, what the heck.. Heh, it only said it for one frame, so I had to pause the game really quick to see it. Anyway, fun but buggy, and you may have to cheat to get past an area where you get stuck in the last level. Also, you didn’t include the tileset for the NES Level.
Good, except for Tubelectric.

Better, except for one major, major bug, on the very right hand corner of the map, you can fall right off the edge and get stuck at the bottom. Fix that, and I’d rate higher. Good eyecandy here, except for some areas here and there where you can see a powerup that is hidden behind Layer 3 sticking out into visible range (for example, you can see the leaves on a carrot that was supposed to be hidden by layer 3.) To fix this, just put some Layer 3 tiles above there, and it will be covered up and nobody will ever notice. No long review since this is basically the original version with nicer eyecandy and improved weapons placement.
Download, yes, but be careful on the part where you can fall off.
Cool tileset, looks fun to use. Kinda graphic, but really cool.
Definetely download.
Not a bad level, actually rather average. Pretty good, with one major throwback…
EYECANDY: OKAY / GOOD
There was no very BAD eyecandy, all though there wasn’t any very GOOD eyecandy. I would’ve given you an OKAY if you didn’t add some interesting things, like a translucent sucker tube, some “holes” or “cracks” in the walls, and other surprises. However, there isn’t a lot of eyecandy in general, I didn’t see any wires, or much decoration in the foreground layers. There isn’t much to see in the background layers since the level doesn’t show those layers (in fact, there are only shown through the small cracks and openings along the brick walls).
Pros: A lot of interesting eyecandy.
Cons: Not too much eyecandy.
WEAPONS AND AMMO PLACEMENT: BAD
This is the major drawback of the level. Awful ammo placement. There is one room where there is around 20 missles just waiting for you and a super carrot to go along with them, and another has about 10 of each kind of ammo there is. In the other places, there is hardly anything.
Pros: Some good placement…
Cons: Way too much in the areas I mentioned.
ORIGINALITY: GOOD
Like I said, this is the first level I’ve seen with translucent sucker tubes, and there was also very interesting layer usage – things you’d expect in layer 4 are in layer 5 or 3, and etc. Very tricky to navigate the first time around.
Pros: Original eyecandy.
Cons: Nothing astonishingly new.
FUN: OKAY
This level looks like a fun time in multiplayer games, but there is so much ammo…. hmm..
Pros: Looks fun to play.
Cons: The battle could become one sided if somebody decided to stay in the ammo room and wait for a challenger.
MY RECCOMENDATIONS: * Improve on some eyecandy * Add MORE eyecandy (maybe some wires, or some animated lights on the ground) * Go easy on the ammo in some places! I’d give this level a good 6.2 or 6.5 if it weren’t for the ammo placement.
Honestly, this is much better than I thought it’d be, Powerboy, you’ve come a long way since your last battle level. Keep up the good work!
A pretty good level pack, but I didn’t like the eyecandy and there was way too much food. Plenty of original eyecandy, some of the most interesting ideas I’ve come across in JJ2 yet!
I like this tileset, all though it gets old after a while. The example level isn’t all that impressive, but it’s a good download overall.
Eh, it’s okay. The colors are really messed up, though, especially in Muckamock in Industrial… but it’s still nice.
I like this tileset, but I don’t like the mask too much. The example level level is also quite nice. I liked how you made it so you could put lightning on your levels!
Download, definetely.
Why is this TSF? The other was 1.23….
Very nice, tilesets I’ve never seen anybody do. Download, yes.
Overall very nice tileset, very few bugs, and lots of nice animation.
LABRATKID’S RATING SYSTEM… Very good, good, okay, bad, very bad…
ANIMATION: GOOD
The animation was quite nice, all though a couple of the sequences had somewhat choppy playback, like that skull that comes in and out of the wall.
BUGS: VERY GOOD
All most all the tiles went together here fine, no bugs that I saw.
MASK: GOOD
I hate masks for levels with lots of angled floors (like diagnol floors, slanted floors, etc.) because you get stuck a lot. However, this mask was surprisingly good.
Very good tileset, download? Yes.
PS, the example level is good… I didn’t rate by it, though.
