Rating Hide and Seek:

To start:
For each JJ2-fan those the Multiplayergame Battle likes, is this new challenge absolutely recommended.

Game rules:
This game must be plaid with split computers. On Battle mode you need to find and destroy the hidden player.
When a player is found, he must wait of being destroyed.

You can do this at home:
Just as nice to know:
Peter had itself blocked in the forest and I had find him. If I had found him, I had spray him with my water gun, before the music which had set up by my father, had expired. Unfortunately it did not succeeded me that and Peter did catch the victory.

Compliments for Gus:
After the 1 for ‘Single Player Mission 1: Colosal, The Lost Token’ Gus have made now two superb levels with a beautiful eyecandy.
There are no goodies, but that I found it is not necessary. You do not have nevertheless much, it is only hide concerning and wait if your antagonist finds you (and shoot on you) before the music ends.

And further:
are these levels superb!

Conclusion:
This is absolutely a download recommendation. Congratulations, Gus.

Edit
You know, Gus was a ‘bit’ right… This levelpack deserves a three, at least…

Starting Comments
I thought I could use some relaxation after a whole day of immense heat… I shouldn’t have.

Gameplay: Not worth the rating

This levelpack is really, really annoying. You start off in an… ‘intro’ level. After you’ve read the signs, you move on! Well, woohoo! That was worth it! Then, you’ll end up in a supposedly ghetto street in New York… There are 5 skyscrapers… IN A GHETTO… And there’s a train standing still and even a highway! This is the richest ghetto I’ve ever seen! Ah well… After you took a look around ‘New York’, you get a mission… Nobody knows why, but Jazz Jackrabbit, intergalactic super hero gets the mission to recover library books, dive in a sewer, stop a train, rescue the mayor (why does it always have to be the mayor…?) and more useless tasks that the police could have done anyway. It IS New York, after all.

Every time you finish a level, you get warped back to the exact same New York level, with the exception of a new exit, new text signs and SOMETIMES even different weather!

The ‘missions’ in general are bland, easy and annoying. Gus has a favourite way of climbing and descending in a part of a level, it seems… He always uses the same structure of ‘staircases’, fills them up with Tuff Turtles and copy+pastes that for a dozen of times.

Furthermore, there are several parts which Jazz can’t even fully reach…

Atmosphere: Somebody call a doctor, I’m going to get sick…

Virtually, none. The only thing giving you the city feel is the Townsville tileset, which is actually ABUSED by Gus in every way possible. He uses good tiles in bad places and the other way around. He uses Textured background tiles for windows, while there are perfectly good window tiles. Gus also likes to use the back- and foreground layers are simple as possible: Blank. There are a few exeptions, though, although they are not worth mentioning because of their ‘basic’ content.

The music was missing. Not included in the pack, no link was left in the description, no music at all…

Eventing: I don’t wanna talk about it…

Let’s just put it like this:
- Loads of bad guys
- Loads of triggers
- Loads of pick ups
- Lack of puzzles
- Lack of enviromental eventing
- Lack of good ideas

Originality: Virtually none…
That’s right… This ‘episode’ is in NO way original… Not even the ‘boss’ is original… Tileset bosses have been done before… Better than this one, at least… You just enter the robot and get warped out again…

Bonusses and substractions
You will not get a bonus for anything in this whole levelpack. You won’t get a substraction either, because I won’t give you a score below 1.

Overall
This pack is not worth playing. It is a pure waste of time, seriously. You’re better off playing the original JJ2 levels.

Download Recommentdation
No… Frigging… Way.

Further Comments
Just to make sure, I think Gus and Ischa know eachother very well… It seems as if they give eachother higher scores. Please, don’t do that… You know how frustrating it is when you look for a GOOD level and you get overrated crap like this? It IS frustrating… Quit it, now, or may the rats nibble your toes until eternity has reached a new age!

A multi-game jazz 2 adventure. Sounds interesting:

Well it isn’t. The objective of the game is to find devan (again) whilst journeying though some short place to place levels and finding orbs that sometimes arn’t there. I like the idea, but Gus failed to make it interesting and fun since he put all those horrible and fustraiting ‘fall down and die’ obstacles that have been overused whey to much. The eyecandy was pretty much average, but some backrounds were dull and plain and there were some bugs. There were no puzzles and the whole thing seemed like just another below-average level pack with old tileset conversions.

RATING: 4.1
RANK: 4 Not good

FINAL COMMENT:
I am pretty dissapointed. You were a lot better at making tilesets.

8.1 wow this might be a good singleplayer level…

But it’s not.
First of all the eyecandy is not even average it’s below it. I know it’s not
Gus’s foult that most of those tilesets are awfull, but there’s no good eyecandy even at those levels that have good tilesets(Agamas SwampsD, Blurred’s Castle2e and Blade’s space).
It’s good that the story is not that original “Go there and destroy Devan”, but the’s nearly the same.
Gameplay is just big linear way through some old videogame worlds.
And that JJK thing is just bad, why you don’t just place some warps at the bottom of the level it’s much better idea.
Conclusion: Huh, this is only worth of 5.5 nearly over average.

Rating Big City Life

To start:
A good episode concerning Jazz Jackrabbit which a city and a spacecraft must pass through to learn Devan Shell another lesson.

Large:
This episode is very large, it has to endure more than 30 levels and finishes with a complete difficult homemade endboss: the new robot of Devan.

Bugs in final battle:
In the Final Battle are lots or bugs, you could easilly get stuck.
Fortunately there is a JJK-cheat. Type JJK to restart, but long not everyone knows that.

Conclusion:
Apart from the bugs it is a very well episode. For everyone whom know the JJK-cheat and love long episodes this is absolutely a recommendation.

Rating Game Machine

To start:
A good Jazz Jackrabbit-episode which Jazz, Spaz and Lori by several computergames must stray, in search of orbs to be able dissipate Devan Shell again.

The Games:
Your rabbit must itself by five computergames clears himself to search orbs. On order the computergames are: Super Mario, Sonic, Rayman, Nethergate and Star Wars.

12 or 15 orbs?
If you have twelve orbs, it looks if you go to Devan, but you must find then in Star Wars still 3 orbs. Very funny. You think that you have almost completed the game, but that is not right.

The final:
If you have 15 orbs, you must cover Devan Shell by making it’s machine harmless. You can do that by taking off a course through the machine. But the block-systems even impede your and can your flatten.
Eva help you. Where she stands, the block-systems will not fall. If you take into account with that and fall, it is a piece of cake to destroy the Game Machine.

Conclusion:
All in all is this a good game. The only problem is, that if you fall, you must type JJK and especially JJ2-fans that forgetful to be, are able perhaps forget that.
Furthermore is everything good and this game is absolutely a download recommendation.

Rating:
This is a disappointment. Normally is Gus a great tileset-creator. Sorry Gus, but this is a 1.

Hahaha! I’m joking, Gus. Yes, I like jokes and I want to be a clown.

But now serious: this remake from the classical Muckamok-tileset is extremely good. Good colors. Lots of green of course. There are lots of slimey mountains, green mud etc. And in the example-level you can discover how I must use the tileset.

Conclusion:
For everyone that like the tilesets from Gus and like remakes from JJ1-tilesets it is sure a download recommendation. So, this tileset is really no disappointment. On the contrary: it is one of the best JJ1-remakes I’ve ever seen!

Eh. This level would be quite decent, but it has some definite problems.

Gameplay: 6

Quite generic, nothing really special. It’s your basic running around killing turtles level. Unfortunately, you are indeed only killing turtles, because there are no other enemies. Reminds me of the easter levels from TSF, which fail so horribly because the only thing you’re up against are turtles, turtles, and more fucking turtles. These guys are quite boring, and prove no real challenge. Some more difference would have helped. To add to that, the items are very overused and easy to get. They’re all along the way, somewhat easy to grab. There are no real secrets at all. This is proven by the fact that I got my sugar rush at the same spot fearofdark got his. Summarized, this level is just too easy to be fun. May be good for beginners though.

Eyecandy: 5.5

The sprite layer eyecandy is mediocre at best. While there are no tilebugs, there is also not a lot of eyecandy. Many plain walls, nothing that stands out. What really hurts though is the background, which just moves too fast. There is neither a reasoning behind the speed of the clouds, nor does it add a cool effect. It’s just annoying. Needs work.

Creativity: 6

There is no storyline, and nothing really stands out. The only thing worth noting are a few triggers, but there isn’t a lot of creativity needed to create those. The eyecandy is somewhat uncreative too. Overall, this level just lacks something to surprise the player, something to remember. Boring.

Conclusion:

Not a lot, just an unchallenging little single player level. Not really worth the download, but you can if you want to give it a chance.

Another level by Gus…

EYECANDY:
Appart from some problems that will be mentioned later, everything is OK. Why don’t you upload this?? One of the reasons is the backround. Because it moves and flashes so fast, it becomes a distraction and the clouds on layers 6 and 7 don’t really help since they move along with layer 8.
RATING: 5.5

GAMEPLAY:
There was a lot of vines, triggers and stuff to keep you playing, but there is just one thing wrong. The level isn’t really much of a challenge without spikes, confusing obstacles and enemies put in difficult positions. This level is a classic example of a non-challenging level. There were no spikes, no challenging obstacles and the only enemies were Norm turtles which are one of the easiest enemies in JJ2.
RATING: 4.1

ITEMS:
When the level doesn’t seem to be incredibly easy with the lack of gameplay, it becomes easier with the high overuse of items in the level. If you put gameplay on one side of a scale and items on the other, items would certainly weigh more than gameplay. At one point of the level I got sugar rush, and only destroyed 5 enemies (and 2 super gems). There are also 2 extra lives just lying on some edges in the level path.
RATING: 3.9

AVERAGE RATING: 4.5

BONUSSES:

MUSIC:
I find it insane that someone would use Orbitus Remix from TIMM in a heaven level. +0

TILESET:
I like your choice of tileset but this tileset is mainly for eyecandy. +0.1
