Yay for the read me. :P. After reading it, and using the program to make a tileset for a current project i’m doing I must say this is a very useful program. I always had problems with making colour palette’s, because paint shop pro doens’t do a great job, and all the other palette programs out there don’t help very much. There are a few bugs which I’m sure Mono will fix, like when I loaded my image as a pcx it appeared kind of warped, but it worked fine as a bitmap. The colour reduction feature works wonderfully, and the palette merger is awesome. This is most probably the best tileset tool out there. Good job Monolith :D. I give this a 9.5/10

The included palettes are also very helpful, yay for them :).

As for larks comment about the microsoft .net framework. Everyone is going to have to download it eventually. It’s a great thing because it works cross platform, I already had it installed myself, and I should think most people will have it installed .. at least somewhat soon.

When first playing this level I noticed almost immediately the trees =P. Alot of them are tiled incorrect on their “bottoms”. This takes away from the feel of the level because there are indeed many trees used. The eye candy is ok, I might say there are alot of trees but thats generally how it works in forests and such. The cave tiling and backgrounds are both very nice and add to the feel of the level. The snow effect isn’t very good, if you move the snow follows you around, and I think it would have been better to use the snow event in this level or just not have any snow falling. Generally the level is fairly easy to navigate. There are a few spots that are stup and hard to see where to go though. The vines add to the gameplay and are well placed. Ammo placement is fairly good in this level with a good amount of ammo fairly distributed throughout the level. The one powerup that I could access was a well placed secret area. I might have liked to see the fire power up accessible though.. maybe it is and I suck.. but whatever apart from the blaster this is a 5 hit to kill level, which could make it slow at times, considering the rather… extreme amount of carrots. Hmm just found the electro ammo haha… well that helps… so maybe this is sort of balanced. All I can say is it would have been nice to have been able to see a hint of a secret area rather then looking in jcs. Overall this is a fairly good level but it has few to many shortcomings for me to give it above an 8. Anyone looking for a christmas fix though would probably enjoy this level.

Size: The level is a good size for any battle, and would be perfect for duels or.. just having fun (which is always good ;D). One of the first things I notice when playing this level is the amazing level of detail in eyecandy, and background. This new tileset is put to full use and all 8 layers are used wonderfully. There is a good number of powerups, and the ammo placement is very diverse, at first I thought the bottom was somewhat meaningless, but with a toaster powerup, seekers, and a carrot it definetly isn’t. The use of vines is very effective especially near the seeker powerup where the players have to use the vine to get the carrot. The level also makes you use the different weapons, seekers wont work everywhere and neither will the bouncers of toaster. One thing I really like about this level is that its fresh and original, it isn’t just another boring battle level. It has some nice touches like some secret warps, and the seeker powerup being only shootable. The springs and pinballs are also a nice touch and could definetly add some nice strategy in an epic battle. With all the springs and warps getting around this level is easy and also fun =D. The music selection is interesting, it’s not the most memorable song but it doens’t get annoying, and it does add some “depth” to the level. Overall this level is very fun and innovative as we see one of the first levels to use this nice diamondus “alternative” tileset. As for some of the things White Rabbit mentioned, I liked the tight passage way at 69,41 it reminded me of semi. It isn’t hard to get up at all with the well places spring, so I don’t see how it could be annoying 0.o. It’s good to see this level isn’t restricted to how other levels work, it goes on its own path. Definite Download Recommendation. 9.5/10 for me =).

First Level:
Very fun ;D
I like the eye candy and design.
The flashing effect in level is very cool, and music selection is pretty good.
The high rate of the respawn on the carrots is actually a good thing in my opinion. It encourages more action packed.. (err whatever; P) combat.
And item placement is very nicesh, with some powerups for a nice touch

Level 2 omb:
Great eyecandy
Good design
like warpy things
(*gets tired oftyping)

Level 3 ;D:
My favorite level in pack probably.
Great design
brilliant eyecandy
Very phun ;D

Level 4:

This level isn’t bad
Probably one of my lessser favorites
I find the level hard to navigate in points which frustrates me alittle otherwise nicesh level with good eyecandy

Level 5:
I love this level :D
I like the rf feature in which u can destroy bits of the level , changing the overall design sheer originality which i love.
Level has grfeat eye candy and playability

Overall this pack is great with good music, and i also like how it can be team battle

A solid 9/10 from me ;D.

First thing I noticed…
that darn cool ground that I can’t quite
fall under ;P.
Anywho, the level is very nice and visually appealing.
The background is very good, with an original use of .. .“spaceships” and “spacejunk”. There is a good amount of eyecandy.

The level is a little hard to navigate.
At some points I see where I want to go but have no idea
how to get there.
There are excessive amounts of text strings..
one of these text strings are to long
so you can’t view all of it.

There is ammo yay..

Overall this is a good level , but a little hard to get around in.
A very good effort, and I would recommend a download ;).

An interesting idea, that
is sure to change

this is pretty simple to make though,
I don’t think I will rate it since
you didn’t really make the music if its
from jj1. A good idea, and I’m sure some people are tired of the
regular music that comes at the start

Great program, which fixes a large bug in some game types. This especially helps in bank robbery, because otherwise teams would have something of a disadvatage if they weren’t on servers side. The fact that there’s xp support is a bonus, and that its so simple is great. .. 1 button ;P

Anyhow I’ll just get to the rating part now. The interface is a little plain but it’s so small anyhow that there really isn’t 1 needed.

My final score will be 8.5/10
Good job Bobbu = P

Ok first, the level has a pit that goes nowhere which would leave a player helpless and stuck for the rest of the race : -5
Second, bees in race… doens’t work on the internet, unless you use those glitchy programs which are just that glitch : -2
The level is very short no weapons lack of original eyecandy :-3

The level design doesn’t look ugly: +2
SO I’ll rate this a generous 2 :D.

This tileset is very good in my opinion. It does miss some things from keen 5, but that’s obviously why its called set one. Anyhow the tileset is well done , and easy to use. The masking isn’t bad, although it doesn’t have my birthday mentioned…. ;P. anyhow (0.o different colour) the example levels are very good and show the wide uses of the what u can do with the tileset. Although in the one part where the seeker power up is I would think you’re supposed to be able to go down, you can in teh keen games anyhow. I hope you complete the series , and good job from me.![This review has been edited by Spotty]

This is an other I believe, its a protest about the person not liking how jj2 has so many custom tilesets. It shows his bias and should be viewed that way. Anyhow in my opinion I see nothing wrong with having loads of tilesets in jj2. It just means that people can make better levels. Without the mezz tilesets for example I can think of absoultely tons of levels that couldn’t have been made in the same way at all. So if you ask me custom tilesets are good for the jj2 community and they help us to expand and to seek out new things to do .

If there was a program that I would have to hail best of jj2. This would be it. No program out there is better then this one in my opinion. I use this program over twice as much as all other server programs put together. It is something of an “ultimate server tool”. It allows you to change next level settings, to skip or restart levs, to change music or even the password settings for the level. The other 3 programs/options that come with it are also a fantastic edition.

The read me is very good and easy to use, and overall this program is the works! You can’t get much better then this program. It does have xp support as well which is very good since I use that now ;P. (website thing)

This is a very good program , It is perfect for dueling servers that let foos in and stuff that make seeker holes.( A seeker hole being an invisible place wher seekers are attracted to)

I love how the program tracks the number of seeker holes it destroys, it allows you to know how veyr effective it is. On my first try it got rid of around 80 overall ;P. So I say a good job to eagle, and for anyone who for some strange reason hasn’t downloaded this yet do it! ;P

A very handy program for servers everywhere. An extra bonus for xp support. As so much software doesn’t have this (BN *cough) A good and simple design, with a nice feature that allows you to hide it in your system tray. This is a truly good program that all ctf servers should use, and for upcoming jdc events and such I’m sure it will be used.

Alright mr. trafton, you seem to have little understanding in the matter, but I can truthfully say there is no personal attack in my last review , regardless I change it and start anew.

This program by black ninja has great promise and at first sight looks to be any servers best friend, once you find its true nature though it becomes something of a “I wish it acutally worked” issue. You see the program does not work on windows xp , which I and many other jj2 players run. The design is simple , and the only good part is the amusing drawing at the start. A problem I see is how you do not knwo if its on or working when you push the buttons. They just .. Go in. So from a perspective that it might work I would rate it 7 but seeing how it wont work on at least 30% of all jazz 2 peoples machines ,and the other reasons listed above , I give it a 7. Only download if you have a windows older then xp. ( I feel sad to say that)[This review has not been edited by Spotty that much][This review has been edited by Spotty]

Good to see people are making variations for overplayed levels. Anyhow some solid work was put into this remake of the famous level, but some minor details were still overlooked. Like the eyecandy in full energy room, there are some breaks in the background in that room. Another thing is a missing spring under red base. The sky could use a little bit of improving as well, it looks a bit plain and isn’t very lively. Other then these minor glitches though the level has been transformed very well with some nice usage of waterfalls and trees. The eycandy is pretty good with all the original usages that were done. For the future I would add some original things to the level that would make it more fun or if you want to stick exactly to its original design make it more “cannon”.(Cannon being exactly same)
