Good lord, this is probably the most overrated level ever. No offense.

The flow is a bit awkward, the placement is questionable and the eyecandy could use some more depth.
I like the theme though.

Alton towers tileset

Alton towers tileset is an interesting tileset with an original eyecandy, it looks like a fun park with much activities

the eyecandy is original, the options for the background layers are just wonderful. with a good handle of layer speed u will get a great bg with activities – buildings – mountains, and a nice colored sky

the tiles are original, but i can’t say it’s fantastic, if u make a level with this u will get a plain ground which is a bit crappy, the gras tiles are a bit small in size and the ground is just 1 pixel color, only if u put thing in it in layer 3 or other tiles u can make it a bit better, but it will be still not great

the idea of scenery is brilliant the i like the kiosks and the rollercoaster rails, also the platform events that u used in your example levels are very original. there are much hard complicated animation events that u made, which makes the tileset more beautiful (the rollercoaster in de loop at the background)the trees and way of painting reminds me of twilight park.

also, the ground has another option, with a path of stones which looks really nice but when it goes up it looks like the stones aren’t that close to each other anymore which is unrealistic also the streetlamps could have an animation of a better lightning scenery..

the 2B version of the example otherwise the night background looks not very well imo, the quality of those tiles sucks a bit
*and btw the cinema looks kinda big if u look to the other things in layer 6

the spikes are original with a nice animated event
the rotating things in the ground are very cool, this let the makers/players reminds that this tileset is a bit technical aswell, like the rollercoaster etc

mmm? what else, well i like the cartoonish drawing however the quality sux, but that’s why i name it cartoonish :P it’s nice overall

it’s not very hard to use, all event tiles are included in this nice tileset

nothing more to say
quality = medium but rox
useful = yes, all event tiles are included
eyecandy = just wicked, and original
scenery = very nice and cartoonish, however the ground looks a bit plain.

nothing more to say, a 7.7 (most of the new ideas) it looks different than other tilesets, but also has the same event options

Gus, u did a brilliant job ;)

** Btw, my english sux but these things can still be usefull…well, i hope so ;s.

Now this is a cool tileset.

What this is
This is a really cool tileset. This is basically the opposite of Agmina’s Heaven tileset. I think it’s save to say if you went to hell, it would look something like this.

Tiles
Lots of great tiles to use! the basic ground and slopes are here and they look really nice, having a 3d look on them. We got hooks, vines, polls, destruct blocks, tubes and a kick butt background. The background looks great and it really fits well. There’s no textured bacgkournd which was a let down but other then that, great job. there’s a little layer 3 stuff likes, chains, LOTS of lava, bubbles and weird shaped rocks. I would have liked some skulls or some of the other stuff from Damn. Still great work!
8/10
Animations
The main animations are the lava and and fire. The background lava fall looks slow while at 10 frames per second, but look really cool if it is increased to 70. The flames are also good but there are ripped. The bubbles are ripped but look good. I would have liked some more animations, but what’s there is good!
7/10
Colors
The color’s look great! Lots of yellow and orange and black. It does look kinda plain in some places, but the colors are correct and really add to the theme of the tileset!
8/10
Pallet Events
Since it’s obvious there wasn’t attempt to make any, I won’t rate.
Masking
Masking is flawless. everything is a straight line and all the vines and hooks are makes properly. Great!
10/10
Reusability
This doesn’t have that many uses other then hell, but still you got options. You can make huge lava filled chambers or a huge cave. You’re limited in ways, but in other ways you have lots of option.
8/10

Final Score:41/50
Score: 8.5
Rank: A
DR? Yes. this is a great tileset and I can’t wait for a chance I get to use it.

.bmp files are about as big as images can possibly get. There is no possible way it would not be simpler to build the tileset yourself and upload it with the .zip, rather than forcing people to download .bmp’s.

Having to build the tileset myself was a bit annoying as I have never used the Build feature in JCS before but I then managed to figure out how to use it. But enough about that, here’s the review.

EYECANDY

The eyecandy here is very original and something I have never seen before. The whole level is in the form of a Polish Tractor engine called the Ursus C-360 I guess. Never heard of it.
Everything looks really good and nothing looks repetitive. Though it was hard to see what you can walk on.

8/10

GAMEPLAY

However, while this level does have excellent eyecandy, the size is far too small, it is only 40 × 30.
The whole level is far too easy to navigate, you can find all the Power-Ups and ammo easily.

3/10

WEAPONS & ITEM PLACEMENT

There are 5 PUs here, which is a bit much for a level of this size. The ammo grouping is far too big. You could easily get 50 ammo of all 5 weapons here. Aside from loads of ammo, there are 18 pieces of food which can start a Sugar Rush as these can be collected too easily.
There are 2 Carrots here, one “+1 Carrot” and one “Full NRG Carrot” which is too much for this level meaning that you could gain full health too quickly and easily.

2/10

TOTAL = 13/30

OVERALL MARK = 13 / 3 = 4.33 (RECURRING)
ROUNDED TO 4.3

DOWNLOAD?

While the level is not that great, I do think it would be worth checking out the tileset. So, I say YES for checking out the tileset, but unfortunately, NO for the level itself.

Wow! This tileset simply blew me away!
Here’s your stats, since I bothered to put them here:

Eyecandy:

Beautiful! All the tiles fit together, various landscapes to use, and best of all, it feels like your really there!

Useability:

Could prove some challenge for a beginner to use well in a level, but to someone who knows the field, this is a tileset of mass awesomeness.

Creativity:

Honestly, not that bad. Though I’ve seen more creative tilesets than this, your use of every-day tiles was amazing!

All-Around:

This tileset has everything, in a unique and interesting way! Chain hooks and vines, broken walls, and multiple kinds of background make this a tileset for the win!

I hope this gets as high a rating as I give it. 9.7 My man!

So Blade’s new tileset is finally released, since I’ve been away from JJ2 for months it seems to come much quicker than I thought. Anyway, this is a masterpiece. If only it was a little easier to use, I would have rated it higher.

The background is certainly an interesting one. However, I don’t really see that much practical use coming from this tileset. Pretty much every level made with this will look the same. The ground could also use some form of texture instead of flat colour.

7 for effort.

This tileset uses a different, original drawing style and mixes new kinds of tiles with old ideas. It also has some great edited versions of old JJ1/JJ2 tiles and everything that a level creator needs is there. The quality isn’t Blade’s new tileset, but it’s sure a pleassure to work with this tileset, as there aren’t much new tilesets lately.

Gameplay

This small level allows you not to move up easily by yourself. To do that efficiently, you need to use vertical vines or springs. You could make your level a bit less straight and blocky and make less platforms, in order to increase the flow. Your foregroundlayer-titlescreen is nice but also makes you not able to see the entire level and makes it harder to play.

Eyecandy

Apart from some titlebugs you used your layer4-eyecandy well, however you made the titles of the background the same of those of the foreground which is very confusing. You didn’t had to, as there are more titles you could have used.

Originality

You used the vertical vines well, it was an original idea, though this level has no more original things apart from that. This level is just of a too low level to play it online intensively.

Gameplay: 4,5
Eyecandy: 5,5
Originality: 5

Final Grade: 5

Cracco Castle is a easy to learn tileset with a nice quality.
it also contains most of the event tiles.i didn’t found any bugs (not in the pallete either like 8-bit background) gj on that one. and the mask is ok.
and it has a nice example level ofc =D.

This level is probably only getting a high rating from others because of its eyecandy and its “Brand name”.
The puzzles didn’t fit into the environment, the levels didn’t connect that well, and the storyline was crap.
I mean, come on. Blocks? Any newbie level maker with any sense of triggers can use those. Am I the only one who realizes this?

This is so funny. Giving out 10s used to be a common thing a while back, people’s standards became higher and it leveled off. Now standards are really high and yet uploads are getting well justified 10s. I can’t find a single thing wrong with this set and it just looks awesome, nothing could possibly be added to enhance it.
