To fix the “pool bug” try placing the pool higher in the level.
an excerpt from Overlods’s site, Stronghold: Jazz, explains.
“Walking under water:
This happens when you are using “Water Level” event in your level with its height number greater than 127 (which means 128, 129, 130…). Make levels higher than 128 tiles because you’re going to need some space for the play area.”
So just make the pool higher than 127 on the Y-axis and you should be fine.
Okay, well, let’s review this level by Emperor. About the eyecandy, it’s decent, but that isn’t bad since the tileset is a bit limited in my opinion. The tubes in the level are really nice, some tubes aren’t that good for the flow maybe, but they aren’t disturbing at all, better – I really like them in this level. With them you can move really fast trough the level. The ammo placement is really, really well. It’s in shapes, (most of the time) not mixed and balanced. The PU’s (especially the Seeker and the Toaster) are close to eachother, but that isn’t disturbing, since that counts for both teams. A negative thing is that there is only one Full NRG, so there will be camped a lot in this level probably. Some places are maybe a bit hard to reach, especially with Jazz, since the level is kinda platformy, so that’s one of the few negative things in this level. Though I really like the layout, it’s origininal – doesn’t really look like the standard levels.
Eyecandy: 17/25
Gameplay: 18/25
Ammo: 18/25
Size: 20/25
Original layout: +3
Total: 7,6 -> 7,7
Download recommendation.
This really is unnecessary. Just download NeoAC and you’ve got all the chat you want and anything else that happens in the server logged right there. Also there’s supachatsender which sends chat. Still it isn’t too bad a program it’s just that this has been done too many times before.
[Rating (6.2) clearance. There was no support for the unusually low rating given. And not only NeoAC doesn’t display UDP packet info like roasts or captures and can’t save the log, but this is the first public proper chatlog done since, um, 5 years. ~Cooba]
How do I mask the Foreground Tiles?
Also, why hasn’t anyone rated my Super Jazz Brothers 3 pack?
EDIT: Oh, ok thanks. So don’t just mask the passage but also the tiles AROUND the passage.
@Donda97: Here’s how to make j2b files.
1. Download Mod2j2b from here: http://www.dutchfurs.com/~haze/blog/files.php?cat=files&dir=files/pc/utils
2. Put it in the folder where you installed Jazz 2 (Probably C:/Games/Jazz2.) TSF or 1.23 will work.
3. In the Start Menu click “Run,” browse to where mod2j2b is and open it.
4. Type in the filename of the music you want to convert. Type like this: “C:/Games/Jazz2/modj2b.exe” insertfilenamehere.it
5. It will work on XM, S3M, IT and 669 formats. Won’t work on MP3, WAV, WMA or anything else.
6. The file should be converted to j2b now. It will be the same filename but with a .j2b extension.
Not that great.
Eyecandy 2/5: It was okay for the tileset used, but it could have been better. You need to properly mask the foreground tiles when you make a secret passage. There were parts where I could see my sprite through the wall.
Gameplay 1/5: It was mostly hurt events and areas crowded with baddies. You didn’t really make anything challenging or creative. The level was far too short.
Item placement: Since this was a custom level, it didn’t really need a whole lot of ammo or powerups. However, if the level had been longer, you could have added more food.
Fun factor: Yeah, it was a good concept, but it could have been done better.
EDIT: Go into layer 3 and put extra tiles around the other passage tiles to hide the character’s sprite.

I don’t feel like writing a real review, so I’ll just post a short one.
A fairly large level with a pretty weird layout, and some dead ends that I don’t really like. The flow could be better as you have to jump in some places. There are some turrets which are pretty nice to use when defending, and there are lots of tubes that take a while to find. The gameplay is decent, not very good as it has dead ends like I already said.
Eye candy is pretty basic, although I like some parts like the things in layer 5 which you’ll also find at the border of the level. The turrets are pretty nice to fill up, and everything else is just fine. The blue tiles are in many places, but at least they’re not everywhere.
Placement is decent too. The Full Energy is closer to the right base, that’s one thing I’m sure of. Ammo placement needs more nice shapes of ammo but it’s all right. Power-Up placement is questionable, there are 4 Power-Ups but the Toaster and Seeker Power-Ups are too close to each other. The Seeker Power-Up is also a bit hard to reach for people who aren’t that skilled. There is only one Full Energy carrot which is a bit disappointing. The warp to the Bouncy Power-Up might be a bit hard to find as well.
Overall, this is a decent level. I like it more than Softcake Stew, but it still needs work because the layout was weird. I’m giving the level a 7.4 and that’s that. Download? Not a must, but I give it a download recommendation anyway.
Bah. I finally got a review and the rating is.. well, unexpected. I think Planet Internet should have used another tileset, or I would have just made another level. But I was in a hurry when I uploaded this pack, so I had no real time to find good beta testers.
Oh well, I guess I’ll just find real beta testers next time. At least someone reviewed.
Well uh yeah. I find it extremely unfair that no one reviews uploads by DarkSonic, seeing as he’s one of the most active decent reviewers on J2O. Like n00b once said, “Dear J2O users, you’re all shallow.” Anywho, here goes my obligatory review
:
Visual Appeal – 3 out of 5

And this is a problem of the pack. Not necessarily of both levels, as I actually enjoyed the eyecandy in Like an Oven, even if it was a little bit repetitive in some places such as 80,41. However, I certainly did not like the eyecandy in Planet Internet. I can see that the author tried, but unfortunately he kinda failed. Firstly, what’s with all the reverse “boxes” in the walls? I can live with the ones with black outlines, but those with green ones throw me off heavily.
If everything around the box has black outlines, why did you have to reverse it and make it have green outlines? It looks very out of place. Secondly, why are all the layer 4 backgrounds shaped like this:
It made Atom Heart 243.5 look fairly bad, so why did you have to use it the same way as SJ did? There are sloped layer 4 backgrounds, so use them instead of some crappy synthetic stairs thing.
Layer 6 in Planet Internet doesn’t even… tile.

As BlurredD himself says, most of the tiles have to be flipped to tile, and as you can see the background is the finest example of that. There are also more things of rather questionable visual quality (such as all the white/red things on layer4…), but I’ll cut it here. Planet Internet brings down the quality of the pack’s eyecandy a lot.
Playability – 4 out of 5

This was certainly better than the eyecandy. I still like Like an Oven‘s gameplay more than the other level’s. It flows well, and the layout is mainly open in most places, and that works. The balance might be a bit off with Bouncer vs Toaster, since Toaster won’t be as effective in this level. And, um, what’s with the triggers around the bottom +3 carrot? Doesn’t make much sense for me as you could just have removed the platform entirely if you don’t want people to step on it. Not much else can be said on Like an Oven, so let’s go ahead onto Planet Internet… ouch. First of all, why is this level so full of slopes? They don’t serve any particular purpose and just look out of place, honestly. The layout is also mostly generic, with boring platforms serving little purpose. The +1 carrots seem a bit too close to the bases for my tastes, which may just as well result in encouraging camping. Also, I’m not sure why is this level’s center powerup an RF one, since Bouncer and Toaster will be more useful here than RF, as this level is also quite enclosed. That’s all I have to say here, really.
Summary
Overall
This was a mixed bag for me. I didn’t quite enjoy Planet Internet as you might have figured. I liked Like an Oven much more, although I still think you made better levels than that. 6.9 (would be 7.something but Planet Internet =
).
No. (http://www.plopbox.net/index.php?id=2085)
Well all i can say is the tileset was too simple, but a good attempt though.
Any news on TR2 yet? I went on the site and it said last updated 2004.
I have decided to have a go at reviewing this level. I’m not gonna review all the levels one by one because that’s gonna take HOURS. So here goes.
TOMB RABBIT REVIEW:
This has got to one of the BEST, no… THE BEST level pack I have ever played on JJ2!
STORY: Jazz/Spaz/Lori have entered a Tomb to search for an Artifact called the Croaking Gem (I think it’s called that.) A VERY ORIGINAL story. This is just like what would happen in Tomb Raider. This is not one of those ‘stop Devan from doing evil stuff’ packs. 10/10
EYECANDY: What can I say? The eyecandy is just MAGNIFICENT! The backgrounds and foregrounds look FANTASTIC! The tileset is used really well. I could find NO BUGS in the Tileset or in any of the foregrounds and backgrounds. 10/10
GAMEPLAY: 18 REALLY LONG AND HARD levels can be found in this pack. It plays just like the Tomb Raider games. First level took me 40 MINUTES to finish. There are LOTS of HARD puzzles to do in this pack. Listing them all here would take ages. My favourite one was the Maze in one of the levels. It took me about 1-2 HOURS to finally complete the Maze. The whole pack took me nearly a WHOLE DAY to finish! This is difficult even on Easy! 10/10
PICKUPS: Pickups are placed really well in this pack. 1UPs and Carrots are very well hidden. It’s just like finding Secrets in Tomb Raider. 10/10
ENEMIES/OBSTACLES: The enemies are placed very well. There are not too many or too less. There are lots of obstacles to get through in this pack. It took AGES for me to get through ALL of them. 10/10
MUSIC: The music used in this pack goes well with ALL the levels. I love it. 10/10
TOTAL = 60/60 (10.0)
DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDATION?
Darn right I recommend this! Download this IMMEDIATELY! Whether you’re a fan of Tomb Raider or not, you MUST download this now!
SUMMARY: An excellent level pack which plays just like the Tomb Raider games. Also uses excellent Tilesets.
BTW, this is my first ever 10 rating for a level pack.
Can’t wait for TR2!!
WOW! OMG, 9000 downloads now!! Could this be the first pack to reach the 10,000 mark?

Very beautiful made Treasure Hunt level under water. The gems lie hides between reefs and wrecks.
Eyecandy: (20 pts)
Forefront: Very well! Context: Excellently! And have you also splendid, mysterious platforms made. Moreover reefs have decorated the complete level.
Result: 19 pts
Gem placement: (20 pts)
The level have 119 red gems, 4 green, 3 blue, 15 purple, 2 Super Red Gems and 5 Red Gem Rings.
0 Gem Stomps. Nicely, because those are uselessly under water. The gems have been well spread concerning the level.
Result: 17 pts
Gameplay: (20 pts)
Good! You need to search gems into caves, in reefs and ship wrecks. And after you have find 100 gems and must search the exit, it is hard to find it, so the game is not over yet when you have find 100 gems. When Peter and me have played this level, this was happened. I’ve got 100 gems, but was not able to find the exit. Then Peter got 100 and he finds it…! So this level is until the end very exiting…
Result: 18 pts
Other Items Placement (10 pts)
Except gems also TNT has been hidden. If you let descend that exactly at the correct moment, that can cost important gems to your opponent. There are also Bouncers. But I think that the Seeker Rocket a better weapon is for under water.
Result: 6 pts

Yes this is your first upload but so far it is probably the worst you have done. The song could do with a little more feature, longer song time, replacement of the samples, and or a little more samples.
2.7\10
Note to author: Make your songs longer and put good quality work into it. At least over 20 minutes work. Do NOT do the quickly.(I’ve learnt this by listening to other songs and how much is put into it)
[Rating (2.7) clearance. There was little to no support in the whole review. ~Cooba]
The song really must of took less time to prepare. Anyway, lets cut to the chase.
When I heard the first part of the tune, it was so quite I thought the thing wasn’t playing. When it suddenly came up with the song, I didn’t mind the bass exept the fact it sounds weird. The song overall was ok, but the fact the piano was a loop and wasn’t original, made the thing sound too similar and not too exciting. The piano also continued through most of the song making it sound less featureful.
6/10 (not bad, just a few downsides).
One, it’s not much jungle sounding,
two, piano had a looping pattern with nothing special,
three, the song is only just over 45 seconds.
EDIT: Is this your first song or something?
the begining is a bit too long, but when it gets to the tube part it starts to get more squeaky than the begining.
[Rating (3.2) clearance. This review lacks any support for the given rating. “gets more squeaky” is not enough to base a rating off. ~Cooba]

To start:
In this level Jazz, Spaz and Lori need to search leaks before the base explodes…
Eyecandy: (20 pts)
The background is just black, so that part is not good. The foreground is very good. And the path is also not bad.
Result: 12 pts
Gameplay: (20 pts)
The gameplay is very good. In a mysterious area the rabbits must search leaks. If they have found one, they must find the associated safety switch to solve the problem. I have never played something original like that.
Result: 18 pts
Story: (10 pts)
The story have been well considered. It is very original. Original with a large O. Nothing more to say. The story is extraordinary good.
Result: 9 pts
Obstacle placement: (20 pts)
The obstacles have been placed, which the level makes very difficult. This is not stipulated the best level for starting JJ2-player, but for someone who like to play difficult levels, this is a very good level.
Result: 14 pts
Bonus placement: (10 pts)
At the beginning of the level get you the possibility of taking weapons. There you must be economical on, because you get none new. Regularly there is a carrot, but there keeps it up.
Result: 4 pts
End result:
Total points: 57
Maximum number of points: 80
Mark: 7,1 (7,125)
Download recommendation: N/A (Yes requires 7,5)
Note: Thanks for providing a music file, but you forgot to change it in the level options.
So. First of all, the originality. It looks pretty similar to most of the other hotels I’ve seen. There’s some fun and original stuff added, such as the quiz and the gym, but apart from that it’s “just another hotel” with 95% default hotel stuff.
The level doesn’t look that bad, but there’s not a lot of variation in the tiles used and way to build rooms and chambers, which is too bad. The mountains on the background are pretty nice, though, but in my opinion you should try harder to show a clear difference between i.e. restaurant and hospital (only difference is the beds in the hospital are replaced with chairs in the restaurant)..
The gameplay sucks. There’s not a lot of space to move around freely (especially not the battle arena, how are we supposed to battle in such a tiny room?). Because of the fact that all powerups are available in the shop (for free by the way, if Im not mistaken?) the chances of having a nice fight are completely ruined. Coins and gems are nothing special in the level, and I kinda fail to see the value of them if you use them the way you do.
There are several bugs that need fixing..As per SPAZ18, the pool is fucked up at the moment, and there are some bugs with the soccer (was playing with 4 “balls” after a minute or two), rooms (got stuck 2 or 3 times in a couple of rooms) and some minor issues.
Well, I really can’t say I enjoyed playing this level, and I’m very sure I’ll like it even less when it’s being hosted and full of people. This level needs a lot more work to make it any different from the standard hotels.
Nor recommending this for download, I’m rating it a 4.5.
Cheerio
Not good. Needs a LOT more work.
JOL SCHOOL REVIEW:
EYECANDY: Poor. Black background and a very few beds and other things you would find in a Hotel. Very few tiles were also used. 3/10
FUN FACTOR: There’s not much to do here. There’s 2 Tests but they don’t do anything special after you pass them. 2/10
PICKUPS: There’s some Power-Ups and some ammo in the level. There’s also some food in the Restaurant. They were placed quite well. 5/10
TOTAL: 10/30 (3.33#) # = RECURRING
BONUSSES/SUBTRACTIONS:
No bonusses.
Battleships music does not go very well in a Hotel level. -0.10

HOST?
Yes, in Battle but there are better Hotels available on J2O.
I think it’s not a school Because there
is no clsses there is warps and a rsteraunt but no rsteraunts in a school.
I really enjoyed this Episode, but I wasn’t able to tell which was the starting level.
WINTER CELEBRATION REVIEW:
STORY: Jazz/Spaz/Lori journey to each of the Planets that were in HH 94 & 95.
EYECANDY: Backgrounds look great, eyecandy has now improved in the first 2 levels. I love the snow effects used in the Christmas levels. The moving Chocolate Bars in the background was superb. How can I do something like that? Tilesets are also used very well. 10/10
GAMEPLAY: There are special warps that take the player to different puzzles where they can find the last 5 or so coins. Superb idea! The levels are long, about 20 minutes each. Dunno what else to say for Gameplay. A secret level can now be found in the first Holidaius level. 10/10
PICKUPS: Very well placed. Not too many or too less. Not too many 1UPs or Shields are placed in these levels which is good as too many 1UPs or Shields would make it easy. Power-Ups are found in Bonus Areas rather than out in the open. There is a shield in the 2nd Bloxonius level but it’s only used to get pass the Dragons. 10/10
ENEMIES/OBSTACLES: Enemies are very well placed. Not too many or too less. There are some obstacles in each of the levels. Trigger Crates need to be found in order to progress through the rest of the level. There is a Schwartzenguard Boss in the last level which can only be accessed by blowing up the TNT Blocks. 10/10
TOTAL = 40/40 (10.0)
DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDATION = YES!
SUMMARY: An excellent Christmas level pack which uses the Bloxonius and HH94 & 95 tilesets.
EDIT: For those who don’t know, the starting level is “Holidaius1.j2l” without the quotes.
EDIT2: I replayed the pack again today and I enjoyed it so much, so I decided to increase the score.
