i figure its time for me to be the critic for once, or twice, or whatever.
ok the first level was really annoying with the coins and all with too many items in the backround and the part at the end of the first level you can run too far and straight off the ledge and it freezes completely.
second level: bad enemy placement like too many in one place!
third level:it would be better if the water started right when you enter or go to the lower level! the song….er just doesnt fit and once again bad enemy placement and too many carrots makes it too easy unlike the first & second levels
fourth level: bad ammunitions placement and about the underwater part noone likes to go on a long hunt for gems unless its a compition and again too many carrots
last level:umm lights? with this level you could give someone a siezure or something other than that… good so lets have an overview
Pretty good. Nice adaptation to Jazz2
Good Stuff:
- accurate, detailed
- works well w/Jazz2
- complete, inclusive
Bad Stuff:
- a few serious mask errors (check arrow animation, boulder scenery)
- a few minor mask errors (Try smoothing things out- you never know what might happen that could get a player stuck in a wall.)
- 16×16-looking tiles clash somewhat with Jazz2 sprites, but it’s understandable
All in all, it’s a good tileset. With those few errors fixed, it might be great.
Yes, it does.
The level consists of a big jail area with messed up layer 3, a few passages extending out of the right side, and a bunch of powerups. There is not much eyecandy.
(Unsupported rating removal edit. I am so not going to bother telling myself what sort of things to add in order to make this review better… ~Violet)[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]
I can’t help the bad eyecandy in layer 8 in the first level.
Also your rating is not fair it dosen’t deserve 1.2.
Don’t give my levels bad ratings. I am only 9 years old. Violet CLM what is messed up in layer 3?[This review has been edited by BloodRabbit][This review has been edited by BloodRabbit][This review has been edited by BloodRabbit][This review has been edited by BloodRabbit]
14 years later update:
Wow. This is really embarrassing. I can’t believe I thought this passed as a good level.
Bad eyecandy, awful gameplay, boring, and just bad. I’m sorry but I can not give this a good rating.
That’s all there is to say.
To help the eyecandy, resize the layer 8 and make it 4×4. That will work.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
Okay, I do not care if you are 9 years old. Download my level, Crystalis. I made that when I was 9, going on 10. Rated 6.3.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
Make something original.
It’s okay for a Beginner
Theme: Does not fit name at all. Theme gets a 0/1.0
Enemy Placement: BAD. Punch em’ and Kick em’. .4/1.0
Goodies: Here’s your good point. Easy get goodies. 1.0/1.0
Creativity: Despite the name, anoter good name.
total: 2.4 + 2 for length
Ack, this is what I was going to do for my next game conversion. Well looks like you saved me some work. I’ll review it later today..
I can’t rate this fully because the weirdness of this episode. And You shall not use someone’s other’s level’s. How could you? No copies next time you make a level. Make your own level. Oh, there is so much things in your levels that should be changed, so, this is so strange level, that I give it 2.
Hey, guy!
Remember to name your levels to other than original levels of jj2, so someone could play em. I don’t wanna lose the original shareware episode of jj2, and also make your own episode or level! Do not copy or remix any level, okay, so it will be more interesting, and better also.
Seems that the xargon is a game, but at least, it’s unknown for me. Well tileset looked quite fine, and this is like a conversion, I give it an 8.
Good things:
eyecandy is good
its hard
Bad things:
its so short!
————————————————————
Overall: 6.5
Great, slimy tileset with eyecandy!
Im very tired so i wrote an a small review…..
Good job! i had the xargon once, and i loved it! i have decided that this ileset deserves 8.5!
download recommedation , if you are fan of xargon!
sorry i didnt realize that the first level was carrot cream and i thought it was another level that i had made in my spare time and i cant figure out how to change that sry
What? This superb tileset has got a average rating of only 9.1? Deserves better!
PS: May I use some of your tilesets in a project I’m working on?
Good! I loved the original Marbelara and this conversion is really good, one of the best conversions around!
PS: Could I use some of your tilesets for a project I am working on?
PPS: Please make conversions of Fanolint, Orbitus and Megairbase. I would be happy.
You know, this tileset is great!
I think you are a as good converter as CelL and Violet CLM
PS: I think you use the rocket turtle together with the area ID. I’m not sure cause I’m a newbie.
I’ll let you off this time since you are making edits of default levels.
Now, when I extract this, I am going to have to delete all of Mikeejimbo’s levels that I was trying to beta-test because they have the same filename, and I’m going to have to delete all the single player shareware levels I all ready have because you didn’t change the filename. So I created a new folder and ran them manually.
Making me do this work is all ready a bad thing.
New.j2l
Pros
Traces of good eyecandy here and there.
The author knows how to use water effectively, something I didn’t learn for a while in my level making campaigns.
Some effort.
Good for a new level maker.
Cons
Bad eyecandy.
Bad weapons / enemy placement.
Short.
Boring.
New1.j2l
Oh my. Oh my, oh my.
Pros
None.
Cons
There are 4 tiles used here in all – 3 of which are shootable tiles.
It’s a maze level underwater. I hate these :(
It would put a kid with insomnia in a European ghetto in 1939 during an air raid by the German army to sleep pronto. Lucky me I’m not too tired.
Short.
Short.
Short.
Shor— oops, I all ready said that =)
Bad enemy placement, bad ammo placement.
Too many.
New2.j2l
Better.
Pros
Not linear.
Not quite as boring.
Good eyecandy here and there… actually, in one or two places.
Still boring.
Cons
Short
Bad eyecandy
Etc.
I’m not reviewing the other levels because they are WAY too similar to the originals. My review is based on your levels only.
Overall
Pros
Some effort here and there.
Not linear.
Cons
Bad eyecandy.
Short.
Etc.
Sorry, no download reccomendation. Put more effort into your levels. Download a good single player level, and look at it – look at what makes a single player level good.
To make a good single player level.
1.) Make it long.
2.) Make it original.
3.) Make it hard, but not TOO hard.
4.) Put in skill level settings.
5.) Put in funny text messages :-)
6.) Put in food, but don’t overdo it!
7.) Put in gems.
8.) What am I saying? Read some articles in the articles section.
Keep practicing…….

Not to be mean or anything, but…
WHY DID YOU UPLOAD SOMEBODY ELSES WORK EDITTED WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION!?!?!?!?!?
Level 1
This is the level, Carrot Cream, but you decided to give it a make over, just so it’d be hard to recognize. Well, you know what? I regonized it. And this is not your work.
Level 2
I’ve never seen this level elsewhere, but it’s still very bad. Bad eyecandy, too short…
Level 3
Better, but still bad.
Level 4
Bad, short, bad.
Pros
SOME effort…
Sort of good for a beginner.
Cons
The first level is NOT your work!!
Bad eyecandy
Awful enemy placement.
If you’re going to make a level, please make it your own level with your own ideas – you copied the level, Carrot Cream, and I know it – you took out the credits for the original carrot cream, too. THe place with the sucker tube and the green gems was the place where the REAL people were credited. So in hopes of us not finding out it’s not yours, you deleted them.
